The phone's screen goes dark and freezes after about 5 seconds of inactivity. The only way to get the phone to operate is to remove the battery and to replace it for the phone to start up again. This allows you to operate the phone until it goes dark again. The battery is showing as almost fully charged so it is not a battery problem and I am running the latest software v7.0.0.585.This does not happen when the phone is busy charging!
Bought the phone 2 days ago and I've been experiancing a serious problem since I updated to the latest version (32.0A.6.200).  When answering to or making calls the screen will go dark when making or reciving a call and will stay that way until the other side hangs up (since I can't do anythin with the dark screen). Here are the things I've checked:  1) Diagnostics of proximity sensors are fine. 2) Screen protector onoff has no effect on the issue.
I just traded in an iPhone 4 so I'm just learning the Motorola system. I usually set my display to go off after 1 minute to save the battery. On the iPhone the screen will stay on during a phone call. On my RAZR M the display goes dark after 1 minute and I can't figure out how to re-light it. Hitting the power button ends the call. Is there a way to keep the screen on other than setting the time delay to 10 minutes?
I recently dropped my Sony Xperia Z3 and the screen cracked so I sent it off, and after having the screen changed its colour isn't the same. The screen has a dark bluish tone to it and is a lot darker even at full brightness and all the apps' icons are darker and so are all my pictures.
when i'm in a phone call i can't use the mobile phone at all. I mean i get locked in the calling screen and i'm unable to move to desktop, go to drawer menu or just pick some app from recent menu. It didn't happen on other Android phones nor on my old Samsung Galaxy S3.
My screen starts to flicker and goes completely black. My phone still operates where I can answer calls, when I plug it into the charger for a while it will come back. I took it into the store on one such occasion and was told it was word with friends causing my phone to crash. I have removed the program and the screen still goes dark.
i got my iphone 5s a few months ago. 2 weeks ago i was at a concert and i noticed the screen on the right corner of my phone is loose. At the time i didnt think much of it but its only been getting worse. this isnt the worst part. sometimes the whole screen gets dark and fuzzy and the only way to fix it is by pressing down on the loose part of the screen. i dont know if it is my fault that the screen is loose or not.
I dropped my iPhone as I was cleaning it off. The LCD screen is cracked and it now has these dark lines going across. How much is it to replace it? Would it be cheaper since I have an old 3GS screen that is in perfect condition? I don't live near an Apple store (but willing to make a drive if I can get it fixed while I wait) and don't want to send in my phone to get it fixed.
my screen is too dark to see - can see SOMETHING in background - but too dim. I can plug into a charger and it gets normal brightness. Sometimes it starts flashing crazily! I am frustrated. This phone is my third or fourth phone (lost track) and all have been manufacturing problems.
On my 32G iphone 4, the auto brightness option gives a very dim screen in a dark room. Tried to search a little, seems many users reported the same behavior. I wonder if this is the same to every iphone 4 out there. This is very annoying, making the phone almost unusable in dark environment.
"Okay Google" not working from locked screen or timed out dark screen. I noticed this befoer the update that it stopped and didn't work after update either.Under Language and Input >Voice Input>Enhanced Google Service>OK Google detection>... I have all 3 options on - 'from google app', 'from any screen', 'Personal results'
I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 7.1.1 with a really strange issue that has persisted even through a full reset. I've found similar threads but I've never found a thread where an issue is throughout the phone such as mine is. At one point I was able to somewhat fix everything but the Camera roll issues but in just a couple of weeks the other problems have all returned. The way I fixed this a few weeks ago was by throwing a hail Mary and deleting Instagram. As soon as I did that, the camera returned to normal even after re-installing it. I removed every Camera app and any apps that use the camera on my phone but this time nothing has fixed the issue. I've also performed a factory reset and restored nothing, re-configuring and installing all software again manually but this issue is still persisting.Â
The first noticeable symptom was my on my camera roll where images would appear like they were black or had some sort of dark filter over them. Many people have had similar issues and there is almost never a resolution on ANY of these threads. As you can see, while the preview is dark, the actual picture is fine. This means it's most likely not anything to do with the hardware side of the camera.Â
Inside the Apple Camera.App the view is also dark, as if there is some sort of dark filter on the camera. But if I apply a filter, the display looks "normal". As you can see below the, on the right with a filter applied the display is as expected. Other camera apps (Instragram, Camera+, MagiCam) have the same issue, but without the ability to set a filter like in the Apple app, the camera remains unusable in those applications.Â
This isn't all though, as we continue down the rabbit hole, the plot thickens. Even displaying photos in full-screen in other apps has that same dark filter look to it:Â This screenshot is taken inside Tweetbot. And as shown below, a similar issue with Music.app displaying Album covers. And while I don't have a screenshot for it off-hand, I've had the same issue watching video in full-screen in the YouTube app.Â
I took my phone from my pocket and the screen was dark. I clicked the tab to light screen and nothing happened, Phone is charged and was working all morning. Is the phone off and if so how do I turn it back on. I have held all of the tabs on the sides of the phone and screen is still dark.
I am using a Nokia N8, I was trying to update my phone from the Nokia suite on my laptop. While the update was going on, I received a message on my phone screen saying, Not enough memory to perform operation. Delete some data first.
I clicked OK to move to the memory to delete, but unable to move from the blank space.
if I make a call within seconds my screen goes black and I have to keep pressing buttons to re- activate, this is so annoying especially if ringing voice mail and accessing the keyboard to carry out delete etc. It happens with all timeout settings tried. Has this happened to anyone
Sometimes in the middle of doing something the screen goes dark on my galaxy s5 and i cannot continue what i am doing because i can't see it well enough.
I live in mexico and ordered unlocked atrix through amazon, Got the phone yesterday. charged it turned on. screen keeps going dark, Cant get wifi cant do anything ..home button does not work...can not set up phone, I am familiar with android had a captivate.
I have a blackberry Bold 9900. The screen goes dark during the call and stays dark even after the call is ended. Even pressing the speaker phone key does not restore it to normal condition. There are no objects surrounding the sensor.
I've been loving my Z5 since I got it, my only sort-of problem has been the lockscreen. The default lockscreen puts a ridiculously dark grey filter over whatever picture I have as a lockscreen, not to mention the obnoxiously large clock nearly in the middle of the screen. I saw that the Galaxy S6 has sensible placed its clock in the top left of the screen and allows you to display whatever lockscreen in splendid, vivid colour. In the past, with my Z1, I simply installed a third-party lockscreen app to get around this but the Z5's thumb scanner isn't compatible with any of these to my knowledge (and I rather like that feature).
It seems a bizarre and backwards creative choice to have a phone screen capable of such vivid colour and resolution, only to have an embarassment of a lockscreen that is so dark and bland. Whilst not being overly tech-savvy, I was wondering if there was any way to change this - either remove the clock, or lighten the screen, or preferably both! (Will Marshmallow allow for more custom options for lockscreens, as I don't mind waiting of that's the case?).
My BB Screen has turned white and thwo dark patches are seen on it. The phone is in working condition.I can receive and make call, sms, mails everything, but none of them is visible on the screen. Its a Blank white screen..
After a phone call my screen went dark and I have removed the battery, and replaced it. Then did the same thing again and removed the sim card. Nothing works. I've tried plugging it in and removing the battery. The light on the keys are on and I can place and receive calls but No Screen.
I have a 2 year old k850i phone which was never a perfect phone like my k800i but that I liked a lot. A few months ago the loudspeaker stopped working and then the screen just a few days ago. So I ordered a replacement for both things in ebay and I opened it to replace it. The ringer now works perfectly. The screen however is very dark (low contrast) probably due to the low quality. No complaints here. However, everytime I start the camera in picture or video mode (not replay) the shutter opens and the phone freezes. The typical camera display comes up but no image (from the lens) is displayed. Do you have any idea of what I may have done during my "surgery" to the phone? I have tried reinstalling the firmware with SEUS with no luck. I also reopened it again and all connections seem ok.
My Lumia 1020 windows phone 8 screen won't go dark while it is charging. When I plug it in, it goes to the lock screen, then it dims, and then goes to just showing the clock and the charging symbol, but it never goes fully dark. I charge the phone at night, and I use it for an alarm, so I charge it in the bedroom. I'd like it to go dark after a few minutes, so that it isn't lighting up my bedroom all night.
When I used recovery tool on my lumia icon the screen dosnt display black anymore its just dark red even after I updated to win 10 the same problem....
I mean it's weird. You pick a beautiful wallpaper for your lock screen and then apply it and then you open the phone up to that lock screen image and it looks like someone put a heavy gray filter over your beautiful picture.
Why? -- and more importantly, is there any way to get your selected lock screen wallpaper to show up without this dark filtering?
