My Lumia 1020 windows phone 8 screen won't go dark while it is charging. When I plug it in, it goes to the lock screen, then it dims, and then goes to just showing the clock and the charging symbol, but it never goes fully dark. I charge the phone at night, and I use it for an alarm, so I charge it in the bedroom. I'd like it to go dark after a few minutes, so that it isn't lighting up my bedroom all night.

I notice the flash behavior, if camera flash fire twice the picture is fine but fire only once then the picture is totally dark. I already reset the phone twice but still the same.

It makes the black areas look splotchy and is really only noticeable at night. These aren't dead pixels but what looks to be dark areas on the screen.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Nokia Lumia 1520 fell and the screen glass broke. However the screen was working fine. I ordered a new screen replacement and replaced the screen only to find out that the touch was not working in the new screen assembly so i will return it back.
I put the old screen back again and now i get white tv noise on booting and then the screen goes dark and stays that way. I can hear the sounds from the phone and it does seem like it functions properly but i can't see anything.
I tried soft and hard reset with no luck. What might be the cause for the white noise and dark screen? Could it be a display connector fault on the motherboard?
How do I make the screen stay on when charging?
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy screen froze on my 1020. None of the "screen" buttons would work but the physical side buttons would. I rebooted a couple of times (depressing the power and volume down). It worked once but then froze up again. Taking out the sim and putting it back in seems to reboot the phone, which works, sometimes, but freezes up again as soon as the screen lock is activated.
View 11 Replies View RelatedThe thing that drives me nuts about this phone is that you can not see the usb charging port in a dark room. On many ocassion i have had to plug in my charger in the dark and i find myself always fumbling around for minutes to find the port. The thing that makes it even more frustrating is that there is already a LED there! It just doesn't turn on unless the battery is dead and the phone is plugged in. Motorla calls it a "sign-of-life" LED. What a waste of resources because most people who keep their phones charged will never see this LED light-up. Why didn't you guys make it toggle on with a long push on the lock button? Then you could easily see the ports? This seems like the most usefull and obvious thing to do with this LED.
Also what happened to the camera application? My wifes X2 takes amazing pictures wheras the Droid 3s turn out afwul. Can I use the droid X2 app on my D3? Besides these two gripes this is an amazing phone and I am very happy with it.
Everytime charging the storm 2, the screen can't be used it, it is not sensitive when I try to touch it, it is happen even the phone is finished charging, I need to take battery off and on to reset everytime to have phone to become normal. How can I fix it?

It sometimes takes more than 24 hours to resume to its normal function itself. Soft reset (vol down + power button) is a hit and miss and most of the time I'm getting the screen below.
I tried to connect the phone to a PC but it did not recognized because the phone is locked. I don't know if there's another way to unlock it.
how I can do a full factory reset and be 100% sure it's done without the use of the screen?My 1020 screen is cracked and doesn't come on at all, there's no way to see what the phone is doing. I'm definitely missing something, but I am only able to see one setting on screen at a time and adjust it like that.

Its like a gradient from left to right, if you open the keyboard it's very apparent its like a gradient from white to gray. Looks like the left hand side of the screen is going overdrive and going as bright as it can almost?

Just went back to the 1020, is there a way for the glance screen not be seen unless I wave my hand over the phone or did they remove that feature? For some reason I can't find it in the settings, just the option to leave it on for 15 min.
