Feb 25, 2010A Verizon Storm2 I bought used from a Vz customer who switched to an Android. Sold me the phone without the Vz sim in it, I didn't know I needed it. Got an unlock code and tried to enter ir with the T-mo sim in it, says no valid sim card.Always comes up with "do you want to enter MEP unlock code" after pulling battery, but when I press yes nothing happens. This is with the original Vz sim installed which I realized I did need to enter the unlock code.Going to the sim screen shows "no valid sim card" so I can't get to the MEP2 screen to enter the unlock code, this is with the original Vz sim installed.I want to use this on T-mo but am willing to register it on Vz long enough to unlock it, but even Vz says it's blocked.I really need a clue.

Jun 6, 2012I just recieved my replacement iphone 4 today, when I turn it on it says insert sim to activate, when I do that it says sim not valid but on top left displays vodaNZ(as im from nz). Keeps saying insert the sim your iphone came with. It doesn't say activate your ipone using apple id and stuff like that. All it says is insert sim to activate. Could it be a corrupt sim or hardware issue?

Mar 30, 2012my iPhone 4 is supposed to be factory unlocked - and it works with all German carriers - I also checked one sim-card from Ireland, which also worked. However, I can't activate the iPhone with a Chinese sim-card or Thai sim-card. The error message "sim not valid" shows up. I tried those two sim-cards with an iPhone 4S of a friend (also factory unlocked), and both worked perfectly. My assumption is that my iPhone is only unlocked for European carriers?

May 19, 2012I just bought a brand new iphone from US' apple store to use in Canada with Rogers. I cut my own sim card and inserted into the sim tray of the iphone 4S. Unfortunately, it's reading the "insert a valid sim with no pin lock to activate iphone." My 4S is unlocked and it says so on the receipt as well. I've tried rebooting it and everything but it still reads that same message. I was wondering if it's something wrong with my iphone? should I go exchange it? I know the SIM isn't damaged because it still works on my blackberry despite the size.

Jun 22, 2012I'm working on rolling my own MDM service, and I'm trying to combine the SCEP and MDM payloads as the MDM protocol document from Apple suggests. I created my own SCEP web service in C# .Net and I know that the device can get a valid certificate when I just send the SCEP payload. However when I also include an MDM payload that points to the SCEP payload's UUID via the IdentityCertificateUUID key, I get the following error, "The enrollment server did not provision a valid identity certificate." This configuration is the one that is sent after the user chooses to install the initial enrollment configuration (step 1 of phase 2 in this diagram).The device doesn't appear to even make an attempt at connecting to my server, and thanks to server side logging I know that it never reaches my SCEP web service page. This seems to indicate that there's something wrong with the certificate I use to sign the payload. I've separately tried signing it with my SSL certificate (from a pre trusted root authority), my customer MDM push certificate (chained from our vendor cert), and my self-signed root certificate authority certificate (created via makecert.exe) that the SCEP service uses to issue new certificates (i.e. device identity certificates).I've looked at the output from the iPCU (iPhone Configuration Utility) when I create a profile with both the MDM and SCEP payloads, and it isn't a valid profile (I've even tried copying it nearly wholesale). However when I install the profile via the iPCU the error doesn't come up and it begins the SCEP enrollment process without issue.A side note - using a preexisting MDM vendor is not an option here.Below is the profile I'm using:

Anyway to turn that off? I know it is encrypted,I had to take action to do that. It did this with KitKat and still doing it with Lollipop.

Sep 29, 2014After disabling "Show Notification" for apps on SD card, reboot the phone, this setting will become re-enabled. It seems the setting does not stick for apps on SD.
I've tested these steps but no luck:
- disable it, move it to SD, reboot.

- move it to SD, disable it, reboot.
Not sure if this is a bug or limitation of Lollipop. I'm using 5.0.2 on D6653 (build # 23.2.A.1.62).

Nov 13, 2013Got my Nexus 5 on Friday, put my SIM in it and everything worked like a charm.
Yesterday, I was getting poor signal (connection errors when on LTE). So I decided to try a reboot. I did that and the phone came back with no service. I checked the APN, no issues. I swapped my SIM into my old phone, LTE working fine. I called my phone company (Rogers) and they checked the SIM, reset the network and I reset the phone. No Service (no anything).
I called Google support and their systems were down, so they recommended a Factory Data Reset. I did that - twice, still no service.
