Jul 7, 2010I have my Gmail account set up on my iPhone as Exchange, to get push email. The issue I am having:In my Gmail account settings, I have it set to send mail using only my initials, so that when I send a message to someone they will only see (A J) for example. When sending emails from my browser in gmail, this works fine. If I go to my iPhone, and send a response to an email thread, it will send from my full name. Any emails that I send from my iPhone automatically show my full name. Is there some type of account setting for this? I don't want it to use my full name when I send email from the phone. I have looked everywhere and don't see any setting for this. I have also called Apple support and they have no idea.

Jan 11, 2010E-mail reconciliation is not working for me with my Gmail account. When I read an e-mail on my BB, it isn't being marked as read in my Gmail. It also isn't working the other way: when I read an e-mail on my computer, my BB doesn't mark it as read.
How can I fix this? E-mail reconciliation in my options is already turned on.
IPhone :: Suddenly Unable To Use Mail App To Access Gmail Account
Apr 25, 2012Shortly after I got my iPhone 4S, I added my gmail account to the mail app (not the gmail app),so that I could read my email on my phone, and specifically not using the Gmail app, but using the email app, and adding the Gmail account as an Exchange Server so that my Google Contacts would sync to the device. It worked for weeks. Now, suddenly, it says wrong password whenever I try to check my email. I have removed it and added it back. I did not change anything on my email account configuration that would cause this.
Since it happened, though, I have removed the account and re-added it. It seems that it would stop me from adding the account if I were using the wrong password, but it lets me add the account with no problem, and only gives the wrong password message after that, when it tries to begin downloading emails.
I have typed in the password enough times today to make sure that I am typing it in correctly. I have been able to log into my gmail account via the web successfully (proving that I do know my own password). I even downloaded and installed the gmail app and was able to use it to get to my email. But that leaves my phone with zero contacts, because I keep all my contacts in Google Contacts, and the Gmail app doesn't seem to add any contacts to the contacts list on the phone. I need it to work the way it was set up & working before today. I don't know if Apple changed something, if Google changed something, or what. I would think that there would be others using this functionality who may be similarly stuck.
So my question is: How can I access my Gmail account from my iphone and have my google contacts brought into the phone's contact list, and constantly synchronized with Google contacts, like I had going before today? With the addition of iCloud, it gets really confusing really quick. The simple solution that I was using was so nice. I will be sad if it is gone for good...

Sep 8, 2010I have configured my nokia E63 to sync mail with an gmail account. I have installed Mail for Exchange 3.0. I have configured mail for exchange to sync with my gmail account. I have two issues. When I configure mail for exchange, I can do an initial download of mail, calendar and contacts. However, after the initial sync when I try to do another sync a invalid credentials message appears. I don't change credentials after first sync, so credentials are correct. The second issue is that when I open a message I only see the header message, with the from address and subject but I can't see the body of the message.

Jul 18, 2010IPhone 4 running 4.0.1. Happened on 4.0 as well. This is the second time this has happened. Look at the center email...anything look funny? It won't let me delete and eventually changes to a date in the year 2000 then randomly will go away. It just shows up on it's own. Email setup with default gmail account settings.

Mar 29, 2010I downloaded a couple of Themes from the BlackBerry Appworld site today:
Lightning (Active) and SeaStorm9600_5
After the themes were installed and activated; I noticed I had duplicate GMail icons for the same account.
I've deleted the GMail account and added it again - no change. I also uninstalled and re-installed the themes; did a battery pull (generic cure-all) and the duplicate GMail envelope icons for my "xxx@gmail.com" account still appears. It's more than annyonce than anything else.
Up to this point - my remedy is to "Hide" one of them.

Mar 9, 2012Msg reader doesn't work in my nokia x7-00 belle .., when I launch it, apps show blank and close.But it works while opening from Messages App (on message tap and listen). Only menu icon for Reader does not work.And I found that it is only happening with msg.reader when ever a mailbox is defined in nokia mail apps. If I delete all mailboxes, msg. Reader working again from menu icon.If it is a bug then please try to solve it.

Jun 11, 2010Every time i go to set an mailbox (i.e gmail) i just enter the password and the device just take me to the screen to choose E-mail (Ovi Mail, Yahoo, Gmail...).. Nothing happens.
I have an iphone and setting an e-mail account was peace of cake. Nokia drives me crazy. I did factory defaults and everything but nothing seems to help. I can access internet by wi-fi and by my operator (successfully browse the WEB).

Oct 28, 2011My Photon 4 G does not sync calendar, contact, Gmail with my company Gmail account. I believe that it just stopped syncing last week and I believe that it was following a Motorola update, but cannot say for sure. Under Data Delivery, both Background Data and Data enabled are checked green. However, this is interesting because Email and corporate sync is grayed out on that screen. When I go to Account, checking the sync options is not possible, but I can do a manual sync. Please note, at one time, these options to sync Contacts, Gmail and Calendar were available. I've pulled the batter. I really do not want to reset to factory default. Suggestions? (Please note this is a company Gmail account, not just regular Gmail.)

Jun 6, 2010Does the native HTC Mail app in Sense UI, push gmail? Or any other IMAP connections that support the IDLE command? Or does only the native gmail app push gmail? I ask, because I have multiple email accounts on my phone, gmail, hotmail, etc.. gmail is on the native gmail app, which is currently pushing... but the others are in the HTC Mail app.
I'd rather have 1 app for everything, instead of bouncing between.. IMAP is IMAP.. which the HTC Mail app supports (for moving to and from folders).. but if it doesn't push using the IDLE command (like gmail app does).. then I'm stuck where I am.

Feb 2, 2010I don't know if my thread title makes sense but basically what I would like to know is what are the advantages of downloading the Gmail app vs just setting up a Gmail account through my BIS (Email Settings/Add Account)? My main objective here is wireless contacts sync. I have read a lot of negative feedback regarding Gmail on a BlackBerry but I will not really even be using this for email all to often, although I will from time to time.
What I have done is just added my new Gmail account through the native BlackBerry email setup and then downloaded Google Sync. I downloaded the Gmail app but I didn't really like the UI and I like to have all 3 of my email accounts go into the same folder.
Nokia :: E55 - Refuses To Complete Set Up Gmail Account
Jun 30, 2010My E55 refuses to complete the setup using the preset Gmail settings in the phone. It gets as far as conencting to the mailbox and trying to syncfor about 10 secs then the mailbox dissapears and gos back to the option no email accounts set do you wish to create and I have to start again, but to no avail. Firmware is current, done a factory reset all to no avail. The annoying thing is it had been working fine, but I uninstalled the Gmail mailbox as my wife wanted to use the phone for a few weeks whilst she got a new one, and now I cant put it back on, so I know my Gmail settings are correct with regards to google. Internet access is fine

Jul 8, 2010A month ago I purchased the E72 and I have been using the Nokia Messaging with 3 mailboxes. 1 Ovi and 2 Gmail's. Everything worked flawlessly until today, when my main gmail account stopped working. I cannot send mail, i can recieve the old messaged, and Sync doesnt stop.The other gmail accounts however works perfectly, and so is the Ovi.I tried deleting them all and setting up each mailbox individualy , but still the my main gmail account is bugged, while the two other accounts worked well.I tried logging in to email.nokia.com but the site doesnt respond.

May 3, 2010I bought my E72 3 days ago and the first impression i got was disappointing.The first action you do when switching on E72 for the first time is to set up your email accounts. Remember, E72 is Nokia's top email phone!I chose hotmail. I enter my email account and then my password as requested.And the next screen i get is nothing but the previous one!!!The same happens with Yahoo accounts.I found a way to work around the crash and set up my account through the "other" tab available on the wizard.I am really disappointed that i have changed my beloved E71, to get an even more proffessional solution that in the end needs a total update to set up our emails.There must be a solution in the next software upgrade and must be installed for free in all Nokia's stores.

Apr 15, 2010I have purchased E72 on or around 15th Jan., 2010 from one of the Nokia Dealers in Indraprasth Shopping Center, Borivali, Mumbai. I found one man in his shop wearing a Nokia Shirt and after I bought this mobile, he set up the e-mail configuration using his sim card as his was of Airtel and Mine was MTNL. After that day I stayed in Mumbai for only 2 days and never used any of the email services. When I reached my office overseas, I tried to access the emails on my phone but it would hang and I would have to restart it again. Thinking there is a virus, I downloaded the F-secure Anti-virus from the Ovi Store. But it became worse. It stopped the Java applications on the phone.So, I uninstalled the Anti Virus and tried the email. But in vain.Then I was asked by one of the engineers at my service provider to remove the mailboxes and re-configure them. I did remove the mailboxes and since then - now 3 months.I have not been able to configure my mailboxes on my E72 again.
I went to the Nokia Priority Dealer - Foneman in Mangal Kunj, S. V. Road, Borivali -W, and they failed to configure it and sent me for software upgrade to Nokia Care, Near Railway Station in Borivali - W.They upgraded the software as they claim and tried to configure my email IDs. But they have failed too.Yet when they open their IDs on my E72, they open.What is the problem and how can I sort it out.I want my Gmail and Yahoo IDs functioning on this device.Or else, this device is of no use to me.I am very much disappointed with the Nokia Service which I have received from the Priority Dealer and Nokia Care.Is it because I bought the phone from a dealer and not a Nokia Priority Shop?Those so called promoters at the Priority Shops are incompetent and in the process of configuring my mail IDs on my E72, he went and terminated my Ovi Mail ID. Now I have signed up with another ovi ID and it has started working on the E72.This means there is some technical problem which is stopping the configuration of the other email clients.

1. how to set up hotmail, yahoo mail, gmail accounts along with official company mails which is already set up. important is to received online mails the i am receiving official mails on company account, means it rings when a mail hits inbox, i want the same for hotmail, yahoo mail and gmail?
2. how to play Internet on it, when i click on any Internet video, it asked, do you want to switch to wap to stream the video, when i say yes, it gives error message, if i am on wi-fi connection, even then it does not play any video, simply gives error message.
