Xperia Ray :: WiFi Keeps Trying To Connect / Disconnect And Scan
Dec 7, 2012
I have a problem with the WiFi in my mobile it is Android 4.0.4. When I try to connect to a WPA2 secured WiFi the mobile try to connect about 5 seconds. Then it disconnect and scan and it keeps trying to connect and disconnect and scan.
So just in the last few days my phone has started having some issues. I got a Powerbot wireless charger(PB1020) about the same time I got my phone at release. It's worked fine , and still does as far as I know. But know, after my phone is fully charged, when I remove it from the charger it's pretty warm(this is a new development, not really had it get very warn on the wireless charger before) and then it begins to connect and disconnect from the wifi repeatedly. I'm talking like every second it switches. I keep seeing people saying to turn off Smart Network Switch, but I did that the second day I had my phone, and it's still off, so obviously its something else.
I just got my new Ray yesterday. Automatically with the pc companion it upgraded to ICS. I tried today to connect it to my wifi. I go to Settings > wireless and networks > Wifi. I turn it on, in the next screen I click on Scan - and nothing. It wont scan and so wont connect to any wifi network.
I have a Z2, but I cannot connect to wifi. Â I have tried restarts, I have tried factory reset, I have run a diagnostic but the wifi simply wont switch on and therefore I cannot get the phone to scan for networks. Â It worked briefly after I updates to latest firmware but that only lasted 5 hours.
After the update, all of a sudden I get the problem that as soon as I turn on wifi I get the message "unable to scan for networks" and then it switches wifi off.
Today I received a second-hand iphone 3GS to replace a 4s which I lost.
Upon receipt, the phone displayed an image of a usb connector and an itunes logo suggesting that I need to connect to itunes before use.Â
When I attach the phone to a toshiba satellite C50 laptop it connects and immediately disconnects with an audible tone. This connect/disconnect cycle repeats every second or so and never ends.Â
If I connect the phone whilst powered down, hold the power button and home button together for 10 secs and then hold the home button only to enter restore mode, the phone connects to itunes and I get the option to restore. However, the restore always fails.Â
I have tried connecting using two seperate USB cables - I am not sure if either is genuine. There is no effect.Â
I have tried disabling USB controllers individually within device manager. There is no effect.Â
I have tried different USB ports/ There is no effect.Â
While connected, the phone appears in the device manager intermittently, appearing and disappearing as the phone connects/disconnects.Â
When I'm not at home, I have my wifi turned off, yet I still get the "network connection available" notification. I turn wifi off, and a minute later, it's back. I checked my settings, and it shouldn't be doing this.
I hgave reset network, reset phone, hard soft shut down, plugged it into the router-time capsule, and nothing. It just keeps on spinning around and around. I do not have a VPN network, but I tried that, and still nothing. My office is where I have wifi-plus their are 10 other wifi's in the building it used to pick up, now nothing. Even at home nothing. Just spinning and spinning. It is 2 weeks old. I bought it in Canada, and am now in Africa. I purchased it factory unlocked, and it is running the 5.1.1 software. I don't want to take my phone to the apple resellers, as I bought it at an actual Apple store, and I don't trust the guy here in Tanzania. Is their anything that I have missed that I could possibly do? If you say fixed or static IP, I have no idea how to do that so if you could explain where that said IP is so I could utilize it, and how do I input it to my phone. I'm thinking that is my last hope. Other than that the chip or antenna are fried somehow-even though it is brand new, and has had a case on it the whole time.
my iphone 4s can not scan any wifi network, i tried everything but still can not scan any wifi connection even though our wifi is working properly in our mac book and ipad.
I have "Show WLAN availability" set to on. The question is - does it scan for WLAN when the display is on or all the time, even when the phone is in standby and the display is off?
How to get rid of the connect / disconnect notifications in an Android phone that is paired with a motoactv? The app was notifying me every 15 mins about getting and loosing connections to the Motoactv. Was driving me nuts so I killed the app.
i had to use the 3 finger hard format on my phone. Everything was working ok after this (recovered ovi store and maps without a problem) untill i saw that the phone stayed conected on wifi. If i would disconnect it would just reconect imediately. same whould happen if i deleted the wifi access point but with 3g internet this time. After i installed a firewall i found out that a program called OMB (ombserver.exe made by nokia) kept connecting to the net. What is this program and why does it connect to the internet ? I blocked it through the firewall and the problem is solved and everything else works ok but haven't had this problem before.
My Nexus 6P has the bootloader unlocked but is running completely stock, un-rooted, vanilla android (MDB08M). Project Fi is my carrier. When I am at home and on *most* wireless networks, I see no issue. While I am at work, my wifi constantly disconnects and reconnects. I will pick up my phone, and it will either A) not have wifi (though I have previously been connected) and quickly reconnects or B) Will have wifi, but after some amount of use, will disconnect from wifi, then reconnect a few seconds later.
I've tried all the simple items:Making sure "Keep wifi on during sleep" or whatever the setting is is turned on turn off optimization on Google Connectivity Services
I turned on verbose wifi logs and was able to catch a logcat of when the issue occured. The disconnect occured at almost exactly 9:29:00, as I saw my wifi go out and then almost immediately after the clock tick 9:29. I can't find anything in particular that stands out as the cause or leads to a solution.
I assume it is some misunderstanding between my job's wireless network and my phone. My previous phone (Nexus 4) had none of these issues. I am unclear on whether this is a Marshmallow issue, Project Fi issue, or what software might be causing it. Since it only happens on this certain network, I am making the assumption it is most likely software and not a faulty wireless chip. I have no control over the wireless configuration of the network, so anything on that end is a non-starter.
I have been having this issue that when i am out of wifi range my n6 does not disconnect from wifi . Looks like its connected but no connection with no data service.
I have a little issues with my nexus. When I lock the device, the wifi turn off and reconnect as soon as unlock the device. I've started to have this issue 3 weeks ago, I've updated from stock android 6 to 6.0.1 and the problem are still there (I've tried using cm and 2 or 3 others roms too). I don't have any energy save app or something like that, and the option in "advance wifi" is set in always on.
I'm trying to read the log but I don't understand where is the wifi problem. [URL] ....
I've installed Nokia Messaging and configured my e-mail account. Even though I think I set it up properly it just will not disconnect from my WiFi access point - even when the application is turned off and I manually close the internet connection it just keeps on reconnecting. I need an application I can use to check my email once or twice a week, not something that drains the hell out of my (already **bleep**) battery. Is there anything I can do, or should I replace Nokia Messaging with something else?
My wifi stays constantly connected after the microsoft apps update. Running latest belle on n8. Powersave mode is active, and no apps are running. I have rebooted several times, and upon reboot the wifi connects and never disconnects. I have removed any widgets that access data and the problem remains, however those widgets were there prior to the update and wifi worked normally.
Most of the time my screen is locked and apparently when locked Nokia Lumia 710 disconnects the WiFi. Is it possible to change this, because otherwise I don't receive notifications if I have my 3G off.
A day or two after the upgrade to firmware v40 I noticed that the phone doesn't disconnect from my WiFi connection after checking email. Previously WiFi would disconnect after it was done checking email. This happens for more than one WiFi destination (home & work), and I have verified that the connection's advanced settings do show that power saving mode is ON.
I've verified that there are no apps running in the b/g that requires connection, and if I manually disconnect the WiFi connection, then it stays disconnected until the next time the email check runs, at which point it does not disconnect automatically.

I've recently got my x10 and have tryong to find a suitable app to scan in bsuiness cards via the camera and import them into my contacts. Alas with very little success. Tried Google Goggles but it didn't fair very well.
i had my x10mini since last christmas and about 2 months ago i had problems with my wifi whenever i go to turn it on it says `unable to scan for networks` and yes i have updated it.im starting to think to swap it for a blackberry
