View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an AT&T G4 running 5.1 that is rooted, has had xposed installed and various modifications made like apps frozen, pimp my rom, and stuff like that. I want to reset it back to stock firmware. What I want to know is how to flash the stock firmware and how safe is it? Do I need to do any prepping like gradually undoing my xposed modifications prior to flashing? I want to reset my phone to like it was out of the box and do not want to brick it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI received a notification on my xperia x10 to update new software so I updated the sony ericsson PC companion first (as that needed updating). I backed up my files using My Backup Pro and then I followed the update procedure.
1 Start - Took about 25 minutes to download the update files
2. Prepare - I followed through this procedure so many times but nothing is happening unlike the previous updates i've done. ( Disconnect USB from phone and PC, more than 50% charge (Mine was 96%), turn phone off and wait 5 secs, connect the usb cable to PC, then while holding the back button connect the usb to the phone.......but nothing happens afterwards (unlike with previous updates). Only the phones lights turn on with the SE logo and then the battery sign just appears.
I'm trying to install the new Gingerbread 3.0 on my phone and whenever I get to the part on PC Companion where it says to hold the back button as i re-connect my USB it does absolutely nothing once I re-connect it.

View 3 Replies View Relatedthe Gingerbread update slows down the X10... Mine was ok on the 2.1 after the update the phone is soo slow.it sometimes becomes unsuable then i have to take the battery out and reboot..even the Task Kill App (Advanced task Killer) from the Android Market doesnt make any dfference....When I kill the apps it usually says i have 51MB memory avilable... just dont know where the rest has gone.. on the 2.1 if I killed all the apps i usually would get around 128MB memory...It hangs and the response is very very slow ever since i upgraded....The only positve side to the Gingerbread update I can see is the Flash Player and thas about it...

My plan would be:
- install Odin and USB Drivers
- download latest official firmware (Germany 01.09.2015) from sammobile
- reboot to download mode
- flash firmware via odin
- factory reset
- wipe cache
- reboot
thats it?
And btw, is the red lettering on the samsung splash screen if u power on your phone gone if i am on stock again or will this never disappear?
Would it be possible to root my phone and just use Adblock to modify my hosts file and then unroot it? I'll obviously have to keep my bootloader unlocked. I'm just wondering if I'll have any issues with Android Pay and the monthly security updates. Can I take updates with a modified hosts file?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got my x10i from a friend who had never updated it from the original 1.6 android version that it came with, so i have updated to the recent gingerbread update. The problem is that since the update, the buil in camera app will open, but as soon as i press the shutter button (or use the touch function) to take a picture it hangs and won't do anything until i exit. All the while it is hanging it is actively displaying whatever i point it at, but it won't take a picture. The annoying thing is that other camera apps such as camera360 work fine and will take photos, but i want to be able to use the face recognition and video functionality of the built in app.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Xperia Mini ST 15i, has become sluggish after ICS upgrade. It takes a while before the dialier appears, and games like Temple Run are now erratic. Plus the battery drains like anything. Is there a fix, or is it better to revert back to Gingerbread; or Gellybean is gonna come soon?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just updated with the latest version of Gingerbread and I can't find any of my photos - ie: they don't show up in the media gallery. I know they are there because I can see them when I plug the phone into my computer. Any thoughts on how to "see" them again.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI did the update through PC Companion the other day and am now running Android 2.3.3.
Ever since i did the update i get no notification whatsoever when I get a text message. Nothing in the bar at the top of the screen, no noise no vibration. Nothing.
The only time the phone acknowledges a new etxt at all is when I actively go into the Messaging app. Once I am in I then get the icon at the top of the screen but still no notification sound. I have looked at all the settings I can find and have also done a repair, again through PC Companion. Nothing has helped.
NOTE: Ringtone for incoming calls is fine. And I also get notifications as normal for messages coming through Talk. I also get no notification when I plug my phone into the PC like I did before.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have updated to gingerbread and like so many others, my media player stuttering. So I came online & have seen many fixes, and I have tried pretty much all of them, they include: Repairing, re-installing software, trying a new media player including Winamp, clearing data in media storage, deleting the .nomedia files, and taking my wanted media (pic's & music etc) of the memory card & reformatting and pretty much anything else I've heard & the media player (and all other media players) still are useless.
