Xperia X10 :: Gingerbread Update - Media Player Stuttering
Sep 5, 2011
I have updated to gingerbread and like so many others, my media player stuttering. So I came online & have seen many fixes, and I have tried pretty much all of them, they include: Repairing, re-installing software, trying a new media player including Winamp, clearing data in media storage, deleting the .nomedia files, and taking my wanted media (pic's & music etc) of the memory card & reformatting and pretty much anything else I've heard & the media player (and all other media players) still are useless.
I have Sony Ericsson W715 Walkman phone and I try to find a way to play and view my mp3 files in media player as their folder structure is when I copied them to phone memory card - but have had no luck. The problem is that most music I listen is in a mixed form - lots of folders (witch name i like to see and choose in the player) and each consist about 20 various songs. In player under "Music" menu are items like "Artists", "Albums", "Tracks"... but no Folders. I cannot find any folder that way as "Albums" menu shows album name in ID3 tag but my folder structure is different (in one folder songs ID3 has different album name). So I have like 500 artists, 200 albums, 1500 tracks and no way to find what i want - for example to play one folder contents continuously. Only way I can think of right now seems to change all my mp3 ID3-tag album names same as my folder structure names but that choice is really bad because I don't want to lose original ID3 info and also modifying is really tedious when have to change few hundred folders of songs. So am I missing something obvious or what should I do to enable that simple behavior described above? One more thought - maybe in phone is some config file available where album names are stored and change all album names to folder names in there and not running "Update media" after that?
I am sorry to interrupt but I can't remove picture from media player. When I open song from my old phone there is a picture that I didn't put there.....I would like to remove it but I can't and I even try to delete it but it doesn't work
Why the music and ringtones are together, when I use the media player the ringtones play? Should I make another folder to separate them? If I do this I am concerned the ringtones won't be found and won't play.
I received a notification on my xperia x10 to update new software so I updated the sony ericsson PC companion first (as that needed updating). I backed up my files using My Backup Pro and then I followed the update procedure.
1 Start - Took about 25 minutes to download the update files
2. Prepare - I followed through this procedure so many times but nothing is happening unlike the previous updates i've done. ( Disconnect USB from phone and PC, more than 50% charge (Mine was 96%), turn phone off and wait 5 secs, connect the usb cable to PC, then while holding the back button connect the usb to the phone.......but nothing happens afterwards (unlike with previous updates). Only the phones lights turn on with the SE logo and then the battery sign just appears.
Videos from my X10 will not play in Windows Media Player. I have Windows Vista , soon to be Windows 7. Is there a codec I need to download for videos to play in Windows Media Player?
the Gingerbread update slows down the X10... Mine was ok on the 2.1 after the update the phone is soo slow.it sometimes becomes unsuable then i have to take the battery out and reboot..even the Task Kill App (Advanced task Killer) from the Android Market doesnt make any dfference....When I kill the apps it usually says i have 51MB memory avilable... just dont know where the rest has gone.. on the 2.1 if I killed all the apps i usually would get around 128MB memory...It hangs and the response is very very slow ever since i upgraded....The only positve side to the Gingerbread update I can see is the Flash Player and thas about it...
I have full HD videos on my SD card that i am trying to play but the Xperia video player does not support this. The videos are in .mp4 format. Also i have some videos in other different format like .flv, mp4AT but it does not support it either. I have tried different other video players from Android market and they really ***** in performance as compared to built in video player. good performance free video player which can play multiple formats of videos, HD or Full HD without lagging.
I recently got my x10i from a friend who had never updated it from the original 1.6 android version that it came with, so i have updated to the recent gingerbread update. The problem is that since the update, the buil in camera app will open, but as soon as i press the shutter button (or use the touch function) to take a picture it hangs and won't do anything until i exit. All the while it is hanging it is actively displaying whatever i point it at, but it won't take a picture. The annoying thing is that other camera apps such as camera360 work fine and will take photos, but i want to be able to use the face recognition and video functionality of the built in app.
will the x10 mini pro get a software update to 2.3 or not and if it won't i want a nice custom rom for it that looks like 2.3 or 2.2 without problems and someone tested before and the way to install it!
I just updated with the latest version of Gingerbread and I can't find any of my photos - ie: they don't show up in the media gallery. I know they are there because I can see them when I plug the phone into my computer. Any thoughts on how to "see" them again.
I did the update through PC Companion the other day and am now running Android 2.3.3.
Ever since i did the update i get no notification whatsoever when I get a text message. Nothing in the bar at the top of the screen, no noise no vibration. Nothing.
The only time the phone acknowledges a new etxt at all is when I actively go into the Messaging app. Once I am in I then get the icon at the top of the screen but still no notification sound. I have looked at all the settings I can find and have also done a repair, again through PC Companion. Nothing has helped.
NOTE: Ringtone for incoming calls is fine. And I also get notifications as normal for messages coming through Talk. I also get no notification when I plug my phone into the PC like I did before.
i'm try to play direct from a website where are 3 players on winamp realplayer and windows media player but none of those are suported what do i need so i can play directly from the website the players are on [URL]
My music player has disappeared from my Media Player folder. I did nothing to delete it. It was working fine I closed it and when I went back to media player it was gone. find it or download a new one. I have a Torch with the latest software upgrades.
I would like to put some music on my phone but im having some trouble, i have made a play list from windows media player and have synced that tracks to the phone but for some reason it has an error. "Windows media player cannot convert the file to the format required by the device". What format the mobile is in, or what to do next?
i am using a nordic unbranded x10i... just downloaded the update service... the update service said i have a software update and is downloading a 140.9 mb file.... is this gingerbread...? is the gingerbread update 140.9mb...?
I have a problem with the new Media Player that was installed during the recent update of the phone. I have about 1500 music files on SD card, yet the player is only displaying 182 of them on the 'All Songs' playlist. Same goes for other playlists ('Album', 'Artist' etc.) The files could be read no problem with Mediascape. It's really annoying as the Android Market music player I use bases its playlists on the SE software (PowerAMP), therefore it is not adding any more songs than 182 of the Media Player playlist.
I've done the following so far:
- reinstall the update of phone software - restart the phone - unmount and remount SD card - refreshed the playlists in SE Media Player and in PowerAMP - randomly checked the music files for corrupted ones - none of them is damaged or removed; the folders are in the same place where they were before the update and I can play them on PowerAMP if accessed via ASTRO file manager, yet they still do not appear in SE Media Player.
what can be done to remedy the problem are more than welcome. I am extremely unhappy about it as it just tops the pile of problems I had since the Gingerbread update, including the struggle to retrieve my data backup file.
Is anyone experiencing major lag in the stock gingerbread music player? Changing songs takes forever and it constantly force closes. It's been like this since the update.I do not want to use any third party music player apps.
My Xperia Z3 has been absolutely perfect, however it recently has started having issues with video playback stuttering every few minutes. It's like just a small delay that's happening every time I watch a video. It happens regardless of the app, whether YouTube, video unlimited, Google play movies etc. It is not buffering and I've tried different networks and I'm confident that it is not a connection issue. I did a full factory reset and have around 25 go of internal storage free and still experiencing it.
Can´t listen anymore to music without audio stuttering, even calls sounds like hearing A2D2 on the other side. My placement of the phone has been the same everyday since last year, no problem at all.
My tryouts has been without improvements, Reset the SBH-80, both single pairing and multi has been tested. Uninstall latest install apps. Clearing Bluetooth Sharing under Apps.
Not being able to play videos on Facebook when not connected to wifi? I can play videos on youtube whether I'm connected or disconnected from wifi but not on Facebook. Can only play videos on Facebook when I'm connected to wifi.
Since my pc blew up I am using a work macbook -my X10 has been saying new updates for ages but every time I tried to update it said it was up-to-date. I see everyone else already has Android 2.1 update so although it is the XD video I am really keen on getting! I have downloaded the Media Synch for Mac and mounted my phone -the automatic upload on the phone just says connect to a computer as new software update available. The Sony Ericsson site only gets as far as if using Safari click on 'help' in media synch BUT there is no help- the search bar doesn't load? You tube only has the Media Go option, which I previously used. how I can actually get these updates? especially the HD video
Before software update flash player was working in my Xperia mini pro SK17I, but after update it was disabled and tried to install through markets is not available.Since abode stops supporting android. I have downloaded the abode flash player 10.3 apk and installed in my phone. Now also i am not able to watch online videos
Since the Update to ICS the ringtone settings of my neoV (SI: 1254-4760) has been behaving odd: I usually set my phone to vibration only, but once the phone has been used for media playback or as alarm (using the app Alarm Droid), the ringtone setting changes to sound activated without any input from the user to do so. In previous versions the media volume was separated from ringtone volume. I see 3 possible reasons for this behavior: I need to change a setting. The volume management has been changed for ICS.
My media player keeps freezing when playing music for longer than around 30 min its happened every day since I upgraded the software to os 7.1 At one stage it froze said it was buffering and then my hole phone rebooted and I have tried a battery pull but I shouldn't have to do it every day 3 or 4 times a day...
