Xperia Ray :: Forcing Audio Output Through Speakers?
Jan 21, 2012
Is it possible to force the audio output to be played through the speakers of the Xperia Ray, even when headphones are plugged in ? I know it is possible to do that when you listen to FM radio, but can you also do it when you listen to something else ? (... and particularly when you listen to your own music ?)
I need to select the headset earpiece every time I want to make or answer a call? Â There does not appear to be a default setting for this anywhere on the phone.
I'm trying to throw music audio to bluetooth speakers with the Z2 and it doesn't work. The weird part is phone calls work perfectly through the bluetooth speakers, but throw doesn't work when playing music. The device also seems confused - the throw icon is highlighted in cyan, and the device under the menu is also highlighted, but the audio continues to play through the phone's speakers.  It has the same behavior with my UE BOOM speaker and with my car's system (mObridge MOST). My phone's software build number is 17.1.1.A.0.402.
My Sony Z5 has a problem where if headphones (or an official headset - I've tried both) are plugged in, the audio plays through the accessory BUT continues to play through the phones speakers AS WELL.Â
I purchased nokia 5235 two weeks back. The ringtone volume is very very low and most of the time I missed the calls due to it. Also audio output of songs is very low. Is this the problem with all nokia 5235 or probably with my handset. Kindly suggest the solution.
I have Nokia C5-00 mobile bought 5 months back. My phone's audio input and audio output are really bad. I have the latest software update i.e. 062.001. And recently I have given for service in a Nokia service station. But the problem is still the same. So how could I improve the audio of my phone. Or else is it the problem with Nokia C5-00.
I just got my Atrix 2 yesterday in hopes of it replacing my iPod touch as a music and phone device.I loaded up my stuff and went to my car to test it out (obviously through the headphone jack) and I was dramatically disappointed. I went straight to Amazon to look at the price of the latest iPod model! Sounds like a muffled tape deck. There are just plain out frequencies that are muffled or missing on the Atrix 2. Does not take a good ear to hear it either. I wish I could sit down with every person who looks at this or a Motorola engineer to show them.
My 6303 has recently developed the problem that sometimes when calling or receiving a call, I cannot hear the caller although they can hear me. I also have the problem that when I connect my phone to a PC via USB cable, the PC crashes (serious error) which I will post separately.
I got Nokia 500, and for some reason the audio output(Jack 3,5mm) doesn't work Any things i plugged in doesn't give results.I can hear the voice when i unplug headphones, like it should be.
After upgrading to 5.1.1 - my handsfree kit connects with iPhone still fine, but it has become impossible to hear any calls through it?! Whereas, I used to have an option to "choose audio output" (iPhone, speaker, or handsfree device), there is now only the standard built-in speaker option - as though no Bluetooth were connected. The handsfree device (Blueant S4) is connected and contacts synced, and still allows me to make calls - and yet, the audio of the phone calls can only be from the iPhone itself.
Why my iPhone behaves in a way like it was switched into a docking station?
When I play a music (using iPhone speakers), the iPhone automatically switches from 'iPhone" into "docking station" after several seconds of playing a music.
I've already been resetting iPhone, cleaning the docking station port off - it's ok from the hardware point of view. Â
I love using Pandora while I'm in the car, but it's a battery drain. I use a normal 3.5mm plug for the audio, and all is good. But when I try to charge my Tour at the same time as using it for audio, I get a terrible screech over the music.
Wondering if there is a way to get digital audio output through the USB ports for use with an external DAC. I'm wanting to use the Atrix via HD Dock as a good source component for my home stereo. If anyone has set something up along those lines, or using another solution, i'd like to hear about it.
I've noticed that the volume does not change at all when output is the car dock. E.g. lowering the volume does not actually decrease the volume until you get down to muting the device (which does still work). There are no problems when listening through the headphone out, but I don't wish to negate the functionality of the rather expensive Motorola Cardock. This is a major inconvenience as it generally causes an ugly distortion and could damage my car speakers.
I recently bought a new VW GTI. I'm a software engineer and I'm very well versed in my iPhone and it's operation. My car maintains 2 external connections with my phone. My hands free phone requires the use of bluetooth. For my stereo, I perfer the MDI to dock connector for the audio quality. Here is the following problem I experience.
I turn on my stero to the MDI input interface Listen to music, and use Waze to navigate Receive a phone call, which initiates the bluetooth audio out End the phone call
Audio out is now set to bluetooth. It does not return to the MDI output interface, as a result my stero doesn't work.
I've gone digging through all my settings, but I can't find anything relevant to what I want. Basically I want to set my audio device output preference order. My device order would be the following.
MDI Interface VW Bluetooth Headphones/Speakers
Is it possible to to this or something similar with my iPhone?
When my Lumia is connected to the car via bluetooth, its connected with both audio profiles, Voice (Phone Call Audio) and Music (A2DP).So when connected and Nokia Drive is running the audio is sent to A2DP to then be sent to the aux input of the car stereo. This is all well and good if you have the radio on and AUX selected. But if you are listening to FM radio or a CD etc you don't hear any voice guidance from Nokia Maps.
This is a question directed at Nokia Maps Developers. Can a setting be created that allows you to select audio output via bluetooth? If you could select it to go via the Voice/Phone call Profile, like for instance the Speech input works on Windows Phone, for reading/replying to text messages, then when ever there is a direction to be spoken, the car bluetooth would treat it as a phone call, cut sound to the radio and speak the direction through the speakers no matter what the radio was outputting. If the above doesn't make sense then please ask me as this would be a worth while setting to be developed.
Is there any way to continue audio output from a browser tab once no longer in foreground, or after task switching, such as with the music app?I have the wifi Xoom. The Sirius XM online android app can be sideloaded, but won't successfully run, requiring use ot the browser-based player. The interface is awful, but functions. The browser changes audio source to the current foreground tab, or stops audio after task switching.Would like to be able to run it in the background until SXM releases a tablet-compatible app.
Since upgrading to iOS 5.1.1 I have not been able to get any sustained audio out of the phones speakers. By sustained, I mean that I will occasionaly get "blips" of sound, but they only last for a few seconds and then stop.
Phone info: Network - AT&T iPhone Model - MC319LL IOS version - 5.1.1 (9B208)
1) This problem first occured while using the "WhiteNoise" app, it started to play the audio, cut off, and it audio has been intermitten ever since.
2) I believe the issue is software related because the audio controls are missing (see screen shots)
Photo 1 = Audio Controls with the headphones plugged in
Photo 2 = Audio Controls without the headphones plugged in (not the missing volume bar)
Photo 3 = Pressing the volume buttons (+,-) without the headphones plugged in (No volume "boxes")
Photo 4 = Pressing the volume buttons (+,-) with the headphones plugged in
3) When selecting the "ring tone" from the Settings menu the selected tone will play with out issue through the speakers
4) Occasionaly UIAlert Messages play audio tones without issue (ESPN's sports scores app for example) Steps I have taken to resolve the issue:
How do I get in-call audio to play on my car speakers? If I plug in Car AUX to the headphone jack, in-call audio and music both play over the speakers... however if my Atrix is in the craddle, music plays over the speakers, but calls are in speaker-phone mode through the phone speakers.
ATT Torch 9800 / V6.0.0.526 276.1 Free Space / 16 apps installed
I am using an audio cable to connect my torch to my car's Aux jack. Once connected, music won't play through my car's speakers. It only plays through phones speakers.
I hav noticed that when I pair my device with a bluetooth speaker, that sometimes audio will still come out of the Bionics speakers instead of the bluetooth speakers. For example, the alarm clock alarms.
I have several bluetooth speakers. I'll pair a speaker (UE boom in this case), connect the phone to the speaker and start to play some music. The audio comes out of the phone speakers. I had the phone "forget" the bluetooth speaker and then re-paired, no dice, audio still comes through the phone speakers. The same thing happens with my car sometimes. I've tried everything.
Is there any way to use Lapdock speakers for phone calls and Skype audio? Does Lapdock also have a microphone and could it be used instead of phone microphone for calls? I am using Lapdock 500 + Razr.
I have a HDMI display device which does not support HDCP. It is a HDMI video recorder (BlackMagic), so it makes sense that it does not support HDCP encrypted info. It works fine with all the other LG and Samsung Android devices with HDMI output, but now I connect Xperia Neo V to it and it tells "screen is turned of or does not support HDCP". I purchased the device specifically to be able to record screen casts of the mobile apps I have developed. can I disable HDCP signal encryption? I've connected the Neo V with TV and I can see that the image quality is quite poor there (definetely worse than 720p as it should be), so I see no real point in HDCP protection. I did not see any specification or reference in manuals that the device is compatible with HDCP HDMI only.
When I plug in my earphones, there is no sound output from the FM radio. Walkman app works fine so its not the jack or earphones. The FM app shows that the radio is on but there is no sound. I really don't want to factory reset..
Sound in speaker while headphones connected?Calls ringtone and messages notification sound go from speaker AND heaphones at the same time [ New.however I was hoping there would be an improvment of some sort in the meantime.  Behavior right now: - Plug-in headphones (original XperiaZ2 gear) - Play music - Notifications mute music in headphones (but no ringtone is played), ringtones are output through speaker (Why? I cannot hear them there, since the original Xperia headphones are noisecanceling ... :-/ ). - Same goes for alarm-sounds too!  Now imagine the following: You sit in a train / bus / whatever public transportation, and you know you're tired and think "I better set an alarm, so I won't miss my stop". Even better, I plug-in headphones such that my alarm won't anoy my fellow passengers. Great idea! But wait, with this "feature" you won't just only anoy other people but also miss your stop since YOU don't hear the alarm, but everybody else does..Isn't there a better solution, than just mute all sounds aside from music? This in fact only solves the "anoy"-part, which is the littler issue in the above case.
I am posting this from my phone, so i hope it all sent ok.Anyway, i am working on hooking my phone up through my car's 3.5mm jack, and i have found the proper 2.5mm male to 3.5mm female adapter, but the trouble is, is that with my experiments so far (i havent bought the cable yet), when it detects that there is a cable plugged in, it tries to use the "headset" "mic" that doesnt exist. So i can hear what the people tell me, but i cant talk to them. So my question is, is when i have a "headset" plugged in, can i force my phone to use the phones microphone instead of the "headset" mic that is nonexistent?
How do you force an app closed on the 5800? I thought there was a way to navigate to an Options->Exit menu item after pressing and holding the Menu key for a list of running apps, but I can't seem to find it any more. Is it just me or did this change in the latest firmware update?
