Apr 16, 2012I was having GB version of android on my Xperia Pro. I am using X-plore file manager. When I tried to go to root enabled setting from settings menu of the app. the app said root access disabled and I was never able to get root access. Yesterday I updated to ICS from PC Companion and my app. was already there on my memory card. When I opened the app I was able to go to root folder and the app. haven't said that the root access is disabled. I disabled root enabled setting from settings menu of the app. but I am worrying about wheather any other app. that I install can change my root (default) files. Also my phone is in warranty and it is said that warranty will void if you root your phone. But I have updated my phone through PC Companion and just want to confirm that my warranty won't void.

Aug 11, 2012I've been looking all around the internets for how to root my r800at running 2.3.3, to no avail. It seems like there isn't any way to do this on the new .285 build. I have tried the DooMLord, UnlockRoot &Super OneClick approaches and all have failed. I have installed the Java JDK, Android SDK, and the SE PC Companion software on my computer, so if any of that is useful, I'm willing to use it. I am a complete noob, but finally decided to root after constantly getting the "Low on space" error message every time I try to update something for the last week. I'm looking for a solution to either a) root the phone without unlocking the bootloader (which is my first choice) or b) solve the "low on space" issue. I love my XPERIA Play and changing phones is not something I'm willing to do. Hopefully you guys can help. Also, being a noob, any answers provided should be done with the mindset that you're talking to a five-year-old.

- Very laggy menu and homescreen slide animation
- Not smooth kinetic scrool
- Camera video recorder is too laggy
- All 2D games as Angry Birds as are not playing smoothly
- All 3D games have a big RAM problem.
I've tested ICS with factory settings and cleaned SD card. Also wiped all data. Same problems appeared.I've also Class 10 SD card.All of these problems fixing when i use Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.

Nov 13, 2012I was prompted to have a software update by PC Companion with build no. 4.1.B.0.587 and it was successfully installed in my phone.
However, I noticed that I am unable to listen to music, I can't hear my phone ringing, The receiver of my calls cannot hear my voice (low sound), No sound on notifications, no sound for the alarm and slower wifi connection. I can only obtain sounds if I connect to an earset. For your information, volumes settings were checked and found to be set at almost 80% max level. Is there a change in the sound settings?
