Sep 19, 2012I am trying to update my Xperia x10 mini system software version 1.6 to 2.1 and I am able to the to the preparation point. When the I am instructed to switch off my Xperia and turn it on back again to contact with my PC I am getting the below window which states that I need to scroll the smart status bar and choose 'Connected USB device' on my phone and than 'Instal'... well.. I don't have these option. When I scroll down the status bar I get only 2 options: 'Connect USB' or Do not connect'. If I connect it it revert me back to the previous point when the system is asking to switch off and on the phone.

Apr 14, 2012I received an update notification today on my Xperia mini. For whatever reason Sony only provide this update via a PC. Tried to carry out the update on 2 computers without success. On one computer PC companion returns an eror message at the 'preparing computer' stage - no help on how to rectify the problem. On my laptop, PC companion switches off my phone and then freezes the computer. I di on one attempt get to the 'update' stage where I was presented with some odd manipulations of disconnecting and re-connecting the phone. I followed the instructions but then update process didn't continue.Can anyone cast any light on this or better still can Sony provide the update OTA?

Dec 8, 2015I know how rooting and flashing works but I've been using HTC devices since the nexus one so there are some differences I just want to make sure of. I got my 6P yesterday, I unlocked the bootloader and flashed TWRP. I wanted to gain root but Im not sure about flashing the modified boot img and the vendor thing.
My build was K but I got an OTA before unlocking the bootloader which updated to L. Anyway I don't know why I just formatted every thing in TWRP instead of the factory reset and I lost the OS X_X I tried to restore my nandroid with no luck. Anyway I got the factory img (MDB08L) from google dev and flashed used 'flash-all.bat' in the bootloader, the phone is running fine right now but I would like to update to the latest firmware 6.0.1+root since im not getting any OTA.
I would like to install CleanCore(6.0.1), the guide is
-> Flash Bootloader & Radio (as needed)
-> Flash CleanCore
-> Flash Modified Boot (named angler-xxxxxx-boot.zip)
-> Flash SuperSU or SuperSU Beta
-> Flash latest vendor.img (ROM & Vendor builds need to match!)
1. Should I use MMB29M factory img and flash 'flash-all.bat' like I did with the L build for the first step? then I flash new recovery?
-Flashing the rom through the recovery
2. so after I flash the rom I boot into the bootloader and flash the modified boot img with fastboot flash boot boot.img right?
3. then I go back to recovery and flash SU which I should download before.
4. vendor img is flashed in recovery too or fastboot?

I have tried updating via the PC Compnanion but that is useless and and I get absolutely nowhere. They did warn that this might cause loss of data and so I should back-up the data on the phone first. When I asked them how I do this no-one bothered to reply.
