Xperia Z5 :: Camera Is Only In Landscape And Can't Seem To Auto Rotate
Nov 7, 2014I have recently got a xperia z5 and found out that the camera is only in landscape and can't seem to change to auto rotate so can take pictures vertical or landscape. I hope that I don't have to always take pics in landscape.

Sep 19, 2011Since my fones upgrade to Anna it is now reluctant to auto rotate to landscape view. The settings are correct and the auto-rotate is selected. It will auto-rotate if you give it a good hard shake to the left, and it will easily return to portrait with no problem. I received my upgrade to Anna via my PC and it seems to have fixed a couple of things that were really bugging me. I.e., the sat nav voice commands suddenly stopping for no reason and the safety camera warnings for two. But it seems to have come with it's own bugs.

Jun 23, 2012My phone will randomly lock in portrait mode. It is not the lock button on the multitask bar, I know iPhones inside and out but I am officially stumped. The orientation is unlocked, but the phone acts as if it is locked. I have tried a power down, power up, and a hard restart.

Xperia Z5 :: High CPU Utilization With Auto-rotate On
Feb 10, 2014I've tried monitoring CPU frequency with auto rotate on and off and noticed that with auto-rotate on if that phone is being moved about then the CPU cores all ramp up quite a bit.
To re-create: use on-screen cpu frequency monitor*shake* the phone in front of you whilst watching CPU frequencywith phone locked portrait I have 4 small + 1 big at 384 Mhz.with auto rotate I get 4 small cores at 1500 and 2 big core at 1.5-1.8The only record I can find of this kind of bug online is some entries in Google's bug databases for the Nexus S back in 2013-2014.
What does this mean? well, assuming you don't have rock-steady hands, or perhaps you want to use your phone in a dash-clamp in the car, this random CPU spiking with drain the battery and heat up the phone for no reason!
I've been able to get a notable increase in battery and reduced heat output of my phone by leaving rotate off unless I really need it, but this is clearly an issue that needs to resolved.

Xperia Mini/pro :: Screen Permanently In Landscape Mode?
Mar 23, 2012I've recently acquired an Xperia Mini Pro (SK17i) with Android 2.3.4 but the screen is permanently in landscape mode. And before anyone says check display settings. Yes it is in auto rotate with full animations on. Tried repair from SE companion, hard and soft reset but to no avail.
When i check services using the *#*#7378423#*#* request, accelerometer appears to work just fine as does the Slide flip Keyboard count. I originally thought it might of been hardware fault. But these tell me otherwise.
Although, admittedly it did switch to portrait view once for a split second whilst sliding the keyboard in half way. I haven't been able to replicate it since.

White stripe only shows when light is coming direct to camera from a light source like fluorecent lamp and from a particular angle.Stripe shows in both portrait and landscape mode and always at same place. I am attaching 2 photos 1 taken in landscape and other in portrait.I have a protecting cover but it is not covering the camera lens.

Xperia Z5 :: Videos Displayed Choppy In Landscape Mode
Nov 7, 2014I noticed when I play a video on my new Z5 Premium Dual, it's displayed a little bit choppy especially when using landscape mode. I tried playing different videos that I recorded in 720p and 1080p all of them are stored in internal-storage.
I tested displaying these videos on iPhone5 and they are playing well. I did reset my device to factory settings and repair it from the computer but with no luck. It appears that all Z5P have this problem at least here in Kuwait. This is strange, I went to the store and transfered one of the videos to other two Z5P devices and the same problem happened. Moreover, the quality of the video displayed on Z5P is bad.
This 4K screen should be awsome but instead of that, I'm getting choppy/lag videos playback.

Jul 27, 2012I have Xperia Neo (MT15i), with the latest available ICS 4.0.4 update installed and working. Here is something that's been eating me for a while: I've always missed a landscape orientation of the home screen, and I've eagerly anticipated it with every new update. To my great disappointment, I still unsuccessful in achieveing landscape oriented home screen on my devise. That is, until recently, when I noticed that if I connect to phone with an USB cable to a computer, and then put the phone in a lanscape position, after about 15-30 seconds of heavy thinking, the screen does come up in a landscape mode! Totally shocked, I picked up the phone and disconnected it from the USB cable. Immediately, the home screen went to a portrait position and no matter how I did rotate it, it never switched back to a landscape mode. Until I connected it again to the USB cable... Weird! True, it takes it about 30 sec. to make the switch but it comes up in a landscape orientation only when it is connected viaUSB cable to a computer. why can't I have the landscape mode without the USB connection active?
