Xperia Pro/Neo/V/L :: Selective Landscape Home Screen Mode
Jul 27, 2012
I have Xperia Neo (MT15i), with the latest available ICS 4.0.4 update installed and working. Here is something that's been eating me for a while: I've always missed a landscape orientation of the home screen, and I've eagerly anticipated it with every new update. To my great disappointment, I still unsuccessful in achieveing landscape oriented home screen on my devise. That is, until recently, when I noticed that if I connect to phone with an USB cable to a computer, and then put the phone in a lanscape position, after about 15-30 seconds of heavy thinking, the screen does come up in a landscape mode! Totally shocked, I picked up the phone and disconnected it from the USB cable. Immediately, the home screen went to a portrait position and no matter how I did rotate it, it never switched back to a landscape mode. Until I connected it again to the USB cable... Weird! True, it takes it about 30 sec. to make the switch but it comes up in a landscape orientation only when it is connected viaUSB cable to a computer. why can't I have the landscape mode without the USB connection active?
I've recently acquired an Xperia Mini Pro (SK17i) with Android 2.3.4 but the screen is permanently in landscape mode. And before anyone says check display settings. Yes it is in auto rotate with full animations on. Tried repair from SE companion, hard and soft reset but to no avail.
When i check services using the *#*#7378423#*#* request, accelerometer appears to work just fine as does the Slide flip Keyboard count. I originally thought it might of been hardware fault. But these tell me otherwise.
Although, admittedly it did switch to portrait view once for a split second whilst sliding the keyboard in half way. I haven't been able to replicate it since.
I recently noticed that my screen doesn't respond to go on landscape mode when I tilt the phone.. Auto-rotate is on, I never experienced this before.. I saw that other ppl also had this problem, some with the update.
I have purchased a x 10 mini pro couple of days ago.I have noticed that the screen orientation is not changing from portrait to landscape mode when i turn the mobile.it works when i slide out the keypad.this happened after the upgrade to 2.1. I have checked the settings>dispaly>screen orientation option. Should I take it to service centre?
Is there an app or way to have all my Home screens rotate to landscape mode, as well as key apps like the dialer? I use the nav system in the car if calls come in, or if I want to lauch a traffic app, the screens, menus and dialer are all portrait/vertical. I've tried Open Home as a home screen replacement but felt it slowed down my DroidX and I don't really want to have to go through all the shortcut customization again. I tried the Car dock but can't globally add all the apps and some of the alternate car replacement apps seem to require a physical dock, which I don't use, and require adding in the apps I want to use.
Ever since playing with the iPad, I've always felt restricted with the iPhone only displaying the home screen in portrait mode. I know it is more suitable for that size display, but I think it would be cool when using it as a media device.Does anyone think it will ever become available in the future on the iPhone? And would it be possible for a jailbreak feature to do this (first time iPhone user)?
I've been messing around with Selective Focus Mode while taking pictures. It gives very interesting results but I've had two issues:
1) I understand that taking pictures under this mode fails often and the camera can only take a normal picture (usually close focus). However, often times I am able to get the near and far zoom parts of the picture but the pan zoom option in the gallery won't light up and is not functional. Is this normal? If so, is it because it just can't stitch together the two focal points in a decent manner?
2) I downloaded a Selective Focus Picture in order to upload to the picture thread on these boards. However, when I click on it, the near zoom is all I see. Do I have to individually save each zoom in the gallery to view elsewhere. Androidcentral would just hang when I tried to download the original file.
I would like to be able to set my Photon 4g so that the home screen is in landscape mode without having to open the kickstand or use a dock. Is there a simple setting or an app that will let me toggle this behavior? In my case I have a third party car dock and I want to set the home screen to landscape when I dock it and plug in the power connector.
Just got the SE Xperia X10, I'm not sure what I click but it won't go to landscape anymore when I text. I really prefer texting in landscape mode. I just got the phone 3 days ago. I installed juice defender and task killer, I'm not sure if it has any thing to do with that.
yesterday i repaired my Phone through Sony PC Companion due to some issues. After repair the phone, Landscape mode in Desktop is not working why? Before that it working but now not working? When i m in desktop, it still in portrait mode. When we use any application or menu , its working. Only in desktop its not working?
I purchased a nokia 5230/5233 a month ago, everything worked fine until until the day before, at about 7:30 in the evening the day before, I discovered my screen wouldn't go into the landscape mode upon tilting, i restarted the phone, removed battery, formatted my memory card (could be a possibility of some corrupt 3rd party software install), later my friend suggested restoring the factory settings, I did so and everything was normal, the screen would go into landscape mode, but yesterday at around same time the problem recurred exactly after about 24 hrs, restored the factory settings and now things work what could be this problem? can someone throw light into this?
Just been wondering about the stupid border around the screen when watching a YouTube video in landscape mode. It's the border with the 3 dots on the right which indicate home, back, and previous tasks button, and the top border with the time and everything.. It's annoying because it blocks some of the video of there something going on on the top or right side. Sometimes I can sail it away and it'll go away. Other times its stuck there..
Is there a specific setting to disable it, or a certain gesture?
Iphone4S 5.1: Why can't I get the screen to rotate into landscape mode when entering Apple ID? It rotates while texting, just not when entering Apple ID.And yes, I know where the rotation lock is located...it's unchecked.
Sometimes, during incoming calls, the screen shuffles between portrait and landscape mode. And when I press the green accept button (in either mode), the ring tone stops and after a second or so, it starts to ring again. And obviously, during all this, I am not able to receive the call using the screen button.I know the simple solution is to use the physical green button at the bottom but would still like to resolve it. Is it a genuine problem with all bb storm 9520s? Is there a fix to this by changing accelerometer settings or something?
I have got an Sony z3 and was using it fine for the last 8-7months,the problem is touch icon in my mob doesn't respond works once in a blue moon. homebutton, backbiting and the another button used to close opened apps also don't work, it may if click for nearly 20-25times.
Second problem: I can't scroll down the notification bar in portrait mode,it works in landscape mode.this was the first which had araised in my phone and later the home screen buttons.
ok i am bored at work finished my stuff early i must kill 30 minutes. anyways i get on Internet to watch some hdnet fights my phone that im still waiting for its replacement to get here as usual battery down to 40% witih little use. i have to put it to charge im thinking cool the charging hookup is on the left side so i can lay phone on therightet side and watch videos cable pointing up. well it plays full screen upside down why put the usb port on the side and not let video play in full screen landscape mode with usb port facing up. is there a way to fix this because its so lame. i have to hold the phone rather than lat it there because the usb crable is in the way when trying to watch in landscape mode. in top of it my touchscreen is still acting erratic while charging.
I have a problem very similar to this [URL] but i am not using flash. White stripe only shows when light is coming direct to camera from a light source like fluorecent lamp and from a particular angle.Stripe shows in both portrait and landscape mode and always at same place. I am attaching 2 photos 1 taken in landscape and other in portrait.I have a protecting cover but it is not covering the camera lens.
I think other z3 devices do not have this issue as i have searched a lot but i only found 1 other person facing this issue and i have shared the link above. Why this stripe shows on photos? Is it a known issue? Should i claim warranty?
I noticed when I play a video on my new Z5 Premium Dual, it's displayed a little bit choppy especially when using landscape mode. I tried playing different videos that I recorded in 720p and 1080p all of them are stored in internal-storage.
I tested displaying these videos on iPhone5 and they are playing well. I did reset my device to factory settings and repair it from the computer but with no luck. It appears that all Z5P have this problem at least here in Kuwait. This is strange, I went to the store and transfered one of the videos to other two Z5P devices and the same problem happened. Moreover, the quality of the video displayed on Z5P is bad.
This 4K screen should be awsome but instead of that, I'm getting choppy/lag videos playback.
I have bought a N900 today and am busy testing it. With the phone, no real user guide was given. I downloaded one from the Nokia site. But I do not seem to find how to make the screen rotate.
After updating to ios4 it seems if you don't take pictures in landscape mode (holding camera horizontal instead of vertical) then when you view them on the computer they are sideways. They look fine on the IPhone when taken the old way. It's only when viewing on computer. Anyone else having this "problem".22 days to break a habit. 22 days to break a habit. 22 days to break a habit.
Display does not go into landscape mode. Their is an Icon on the top of the screen displaying that the landscape mode is locked. I need to unlock this and have no idea how it locked itself.
My new iphone 4s wont go into landscape mode. Apple's website suggests how to test it using the calculator, but doesn't say what to do if it doesn't pass the test.Is there any setting that may be keeping the iphone display in the vertical mode?
My phone will randomly lock in portrait mode. It is not the lock button on the multitask bar, I know iPhones inside and out but I am officially stumped. The orientation is unlocked, but the phone acts as if it is locked. I have tried a power down, power up, and a hard restart.
