Iphone4S 5.1: Why can't I get the screen to rotate into landscape mode when entering Apple ID? It rotates while texting, just not when entering Apple ID.And yes, I know where the rotation lock is located...it's unchecked.

Why can't Apple make the iPhone icons rotate when in landscape mode, just like the iPad? This would be very useful when using GPS navigation apps.

My phone will randomly lock in portrait mode. It is not the lock button on the multitask bar, I know iPhones inside and out but I am officially stumped. The orientation is unlocked, but the phone acts as if it is locked. I have tried a power down, power up, and a hard restart.

I've recently acquired an Xperia Mini Pro (SK17i) with Android 2.3.4 but the screen is permanently in landscape mode. And before anyone says check display settings. Yes it is in auto rotate with full animations on. Tried repair from SE companion, hard and soft reset but to no avail.
When i check services using the *#*#7378423#*#* request, accelerometer appears to work just fine as does the Slide flip Keyboard count. I originally thought it might of been hardware fault. But these tell me otherwise.
Although, admittedly it did switch to portrait view once for a split second whilst sliding the keyboard in half way. I haven't been able to replicate it since.
I have Xperia Neo (MT15i), with the latest available ICS 4.0.4 update installed and working. Here is something that's been eating me for a while: I've always missed a landscape orientation of the home screen, and I've eagerly anticipated it with every new update. To my great disappointment, I still unsuccessful in achieveing landscape oriented home screen on my devise. That is, until recently, when I noticed that if I connect to phone with an USB cable to a computer, and then put the phone in a lanscape position, after about 15-30 seconds of heavy thinking, the screen does come up in a landscape mode! Totally shocked, I picked up the phone and disconnected it from the USB cable. Immediately, the home screen went to a portrait position and no matter how I did rotate it, it never switched back to a landscape mode. Until I connected it again to the USB cable... Weird! True, it takes it about 30 sec. to make the switch but it comes up in a landscape orientation only when it is connected viaUSB cable to a computer. why can't I have the landscape mode without the USB connection active?

It's the border with the 3 dots on the right which indicate home, back, and previous tasks button, and the top border with the time and everything.. It's annoying because it blocks some of the video of there something going on on the top or right side. Sometimes I can sail it away and it'll go away. Other times its stuck there..
Is there a specific setting to disable it, or a certain gesture?
Sometimes, during incoming calls, the screen shuffles between portrait and landscape mode. And when I press the green accept button (in either mode), the ring tone stops and after a second or so, it starts to ring again. And obviously, during all this, I am not able to receive the call using the screen button.I know the simple solution is to use the physical green button at the bottom but would still like to resolve it. Is it a genuine problem with all bb storm 9520s? Is there a fix to this by changing accelerometer settings or something?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSince my fones upgrade to Anna it is now reluctant to auto rotate to landscape view. The settings are correct and the auto-rotate is selected. It will auto-rotate if you give it a good hard shake to the left, and it will easily return to portrait with no problem. I received my upgrade to Anna via my PC and it seems to have fixed a couple of things that were really bugging me. I.e., the sat nav voice commands suddenly stopping for no reason and the safety camera warnings for two. But it seems to have come with it's own bugs.

The pictures can not be rotated back to the proper orientation with out opening Paint program and rotating them manually. I take hundreds and thousands of pics of my life (kids, vacations etc..) and do not want to have to manipulate them later on once moved to my computer. If you lower the picture quality to 6mp it fixes the problem, also if you shoot the pic in HDR mode. I should not have to do this to make it work. Fail.

When I open my music app ( the apple music app) on my phone, it keeps asking me to enter in my Apple ID password. It's not an incorrect password. And it happens every time I open it. I opened my setting for iTunes and it has my Apple ID username and password logged in mad home sharing is On. It did not do this until I had to switch to a new phone due to itouch issues.
