Daylight savings time stared today and the alarm on my Z3v was correctly set to 0730. The alarm didn't go off though until 0830. I did set the alarm with google now, but around 8 o'clock i also checked the Alarm and Clock app and verified the correct alarm time was set and turned on. Then the alarm went off at 0830. It was a one time alarm and no other alarms were set.
I recently travelled to Melbourne from Perth with my fancy new N97, after successfully syncing my Outlook calendar etc from my laptop to the N97 using Ovi Suite (which I agree is not as good as the old PC Suite). Time zone change has caused me a few problems, as the automatic update of the time when I arrived in Melbourne didn't take daylight saving into account, so the alarm went off an hour late etc, and so I had to manually adjust the clock. Funny that now the world clock on my phone is out by an hour now that I have arrived back in Perth. So predictably, the calendar entries now that I'm back in Perth are an hour out.
Any easy ways of updating the world clock settings so that Perth (GMT+8hrs) actually reflects what the time is so that the calendar will sync? At the moment the N97's world clock states that Perth time is 0553hrs, but the time is actually 0653hrs. If I ask the phone to change to Perth as the current location, it asks whether to change phone time to match local time in selected location, which means that the clock continues to show the correct time, despite the world clock being incorrect. I think this is the problem anyway. Thoughts?
Using a Lumia 800 in the UK and (believe it or not) only just realised that it hasn't auto-corrected for daylight-saving time. Can't see an option for it either - am I just missing a really obvious setting somewhere? Time/date has many place options but no DST - is that correct?
am completely new here and completely new to the smart phone. It's just that all my other Sony phones, the alarm worked (and calendar reminder) when the phone was switched off, to wake me up ect. Is there a way to activate this so that it will work, or does the phone have to be switched on to use this facility
Today we started spring forward in the US. When I turned on my phone, it looked so different. My X2-01's home screen was changed, the internet was gone, my phone numbers on the phone were all gone. All the default themes and tones are gone. I checked my calendar, all my appointments were gone. Even the games that originally came with the phone, they were all gone. I tried to access the Internet via Menu, no luck.I was on the phone with T-mobile helpdesk almost an hour today, no luck. They e-mailed me the Internet settings etc and I did all step by step, no luck. It looks like the phone has crashed after daylight settings. I can still make phone calls and receive text messages, but it's pretty much what only I can do. Last night all I did was turn it off before I went to bed and turn it on in the morning.
My s5 sometimes shows the right time and sometimes doesn't following Daylight Savings (sometimes it's an hour off). I keep having to restart the device, which fixes things in the short term. But, my alarms go off and then go off again an hour later. This is getting really tiresome! It's set to auto date/time/time zone, so I don't understand why it keeps showing the wrong time.
I picked up this 'gem' from Moto's Facebook: Heads up for Daylight Savings Time ending tomorrow: Any users with Motorola smartphones running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) who experience shorter battery life or longer charging times when Daylight Savings Time ends tomorrow (Sunday) can reboot their devices to fix the issue.
Iwhere we do not observe Daylight Savings Time. When I set Settings -> Date & Time to "Automatic", all appointments after Daylight Savings Time starts, get set 1 hour too late. When I uncheck Automatic and manually set my time zone to Hawaii, the appointments get reset to the correct hour.
Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong here? Sometimes (about 1 day a week), I'll set my alarm, but it will not go off. When I look at the phone, it'll have the pop-up indicator thing saying "DISMISS" or "off" (can't remember exactly what it says), that indicates that the alarm was triggered, but it doesn't actually make the alarm sound.Any ideas why this may be happening? I am 100% sure the alarm is set to the right time, and the AM/PM is correct, and the phone is not on "Silent", but the alarm won't actually ring? It doesn't do it all the time, but maybe only once every 7-10 times I set the alarm, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why. This is a big problem for me because I don't have a regular alarm clock, and I use it to wake me up for work. Twice this month I have been late for work because my alarm didn't go off.Can anyone out there possibly help me diagnose this problem? I think my boss thinks that I'm lying to him when I tell him my alarm doesn't go off, and it's really becoming a problem.
It seems on Nokia E71, the alarm settings are lost when an alarm is activated while the mobile is turned off.The sequence which i followed was.# set an alarm with time = current time + 5 mins# switched off the mobile# When the alarm time reaches the alarm goes on and asks "if we want to turn on the phone"; select 'no'.[My opinion is that at this stage it should just inform the user that the phone is switched off, rather than giving an option to turn on the phone.]# turn on the phone and go to Menu_office_clock and check the previous alarm settings. All of them would be deleted. I saw the same error in E72 and E63.
Lumia 900 failed to wake me up this morning. The alarm just did not sound at all.
- Alarm was set and was shown to be in use. Even the Icon in the start screen was shown - Tried multiple times afterwards setting the existing alarm a few minutes forward. None of the attempts alarmed.
How I set the alarm is that I always edit the existing alarm, edit the time and push the alarm on.When I tried creating a new alarm (a few minutes forward), that ringed ok. But the existing alarm failed to ring
BUT will my S2 automatically change time at 2am? I need to know for sure because I have to get up for work at 6. I dont remember last year with my S1 if it automatically did.
I've seen numerous posts about daylight savings affecting the time on the iphone, but haven't seen any responses to this particular question yet. Since daylight savings went into effect last weekend, my reminders are going off an hour early, even though the time on my iphone shows the current, proper time. My phone says it is 8:00 AM (CST). However, an alarm that I set for 8am went off at 7am this morning.
Is it possible to save content (pictures, sound clips etc) from a MMS with the X10 mini pro, this is a basic function for a phone i would have thought, but i can find no way to do it
We had our Fall time change Saturday, and my HTC One M8 failed to adjust for daylight savings. Well, parts of it failed.
The small time display next to the battery meter is correct.
The large time display in the Sense 6 widget is one hour ahead. When the screen is locked, the time is displayed correctly, but when the phone is unlocked, the time is displayed one hour ahead. They're probably two separate widgets? Tap the Sense 6 widget, and the local time on the world clock page is also one hour ahead.
Any way to get the Sense 6 widget to display the correct time?
I have received a picture via mms that I want to save to my photo albumn on my phone, but I cannot find an option for this on the phone, I can set as wallpaper or set as contact photo but not save to my albumn. I assume it is possible as every other phone I have had I can do it from.
I have an 8gig micro sd card and none of my contacts, photos, songs or anything will save to it, they save to the phone instead and I don't know how to change it.I would just jst the usb but my computer doesn't recoginse the phone on my computer either.
I have Neo V for almost half a year and I haven't had any problems with alarm before. Recently I upgraded to ICS, but I haven't experienced any problems with alarm till today.
I am using the stock alarm. I do not have any task killers or any special apps, just some usual games or simple apps, nothing fancy or something that could affect the entire Android OS.
Yesterday evening I set alarm to 9:00, I checked the signal, everything seemed to be as usual. In the morning I woke up and looked at a clock near my bed - oh, it's 9:05. Hmm, but why my phone did not make any noise? Ok, let's wait a bit, maybe I did not hear... 9:15. Nothing. 9:20. Still nothing. Then I took my phone and pressed the unlock button. And exactly when I did that, suddenly the alarm window popped up and phone rang. It was 9:20. To test if the alarm still works, I set up a new signal at 9:40 and put the phone aside, so it can lock. This time everything went smooth, alarm went off exactly at 9:40.
I have an icon keep coming up on the front of the phone to say it is low on storage space as all my info is on the phone and I need to transfer it to my memory card?
Whenever someone sends me a photo via text messaging, the only option I get is to use it as a contact or screen saver but not to actually save it as a pic anywhere! How do i do it? I know I used to have that option as Ive got saved photos on jy phone sent via that method before.
How to save battery life in Sony Ericsson Xperia ? I disabled Wireless settings , bluetooth etc even after that it is not possible to watch movie or video songs or play games for more than two hours. I found one useful tip to save little bit - "Wait till your phone gets switch off(I mean your cell battery comes to 0%). And then charge it fully". It will sure gives you a good battery life. But it doesnot work most of the time.
I have set a few alarms, and sometimes they don't go off, and it is really annoying since I need my alarm to get up for stuff like lectures etc! I set it yesterday to go off today at 12, but it didnt go off! and I ended up getting up at fricking 2pm!! I try to replicate the problem by like setting the alarm in 1 minute, but it will go off.
Initially there was an option to use either songs that i have as my alarm tone or to choose inbuilt alarm tonesBut by mistake i clicked on the always option instead of the just once option.
