I picked up this 'gem' from Moto's Facebook: Heads up for Daylight Savings Time ending tomorrow: Any users with Motorola smartphones running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) who experience shorter battery life or longer charging times when Daylight Savings Time ends tomorrow (Sunday) can reboot their devices to fix the issue.
Iwhere we do not observe Daylight Savings Time. When I set Settings -> Date & Time to "Automatic", all appointments after Daylight Savings Time starts, get set 1 hour too late. When I uncheck Automatic and manually set my time zone to Hawaii, the appointments get reset to the correct hour.
BUT will my S2 automatically change time at 2am? I need to know for sure because I have to get up for work at 6. I dont remember last year with my S1 if it automatically did.
We had our Fall time change Saturday, and my HTC One M8 failed to adjust for daylight savings. Well, parts of it failed.
The small time display next to the battery meter is correct.
The large time display in the Sense 6 widget is one hour ahead. When the screen is locked, the time is displayed correctly, but when the phone is unlocked, the time is displayed one hour ahead. They're probably two separate widgets? Tap the Sense 6 widget, and the local time on the world clock page is also one hour ahead.
Any way to get the Sense 6 widget to display the correct time?
My s5 sometimes shows the right time and sometimes doesn't following Daylight Savings (sometimes it's an hour off). I keep having to restart the device, which fixes things in the short term. But, my alarms go off and then go off again an hour later. This is getting really tiresome! It's set to auto date/time/time zone, so I don't understand why it keeps showing the wrong time.
I've seen numerous posts about daylight savings affecting the time on the iphone, but haven't seen any responses to this particular question yet. Since daylight savings went into effect last weekend, my reminders are going off an hour early, even though the time on my iphone shows the current, proper time. My phone says it is 8:00 AM (CST). However, an alarm that I set for 8am went off at 7am this morning.
iPhone not automatically changing with the end of day lights savings last night (Aus time)? My other devices have changed ok, just not the iPhone. I have tried syncing and that hasn't worked. how to change the time. It is an old iPhone.
I recently travelled to Melbourne from Perth with my fancy new N97, after successfully syncing my Outlook calendar etc from my laptop to the N97 using Ovi Suite (which I agree is not as good as the old PC Suite). Time zone change has caused me a few problems, as the automatic update of the time when I arrived in Melbourne didn't take daylight saving into account, so the alarm went off an hour late etc, and so I had to manually adjust the clock. Funny that now the world clock on my phone is out by an hour now that I have arrived back in Perth. So predictably, the calendar entries now that I'm back in Perth are an hour out.
Any easy ways of updating the world clock settings so that Perth (GMT+8hrs) actually reflects what the time is so that the calendar will sync? At the moment the N97's world clock states that Perth time is 0553hrs, but the time is actually 0653hrs. If I ask the phone to change to Perth as the current location, it asks whether to change phone time to match local time in selected location, which means that the clock continues to show the correct time, despite the world clock being incorrect. I think this is the problem anyway. Thoughts?
Using a Lumia 800 in the UK and (believe it or not) only just realised that it hasn't auto-corrected for daylight-saving time. Can't see an option for it either - am I just missing a really obvious setting somewhere? Time/date has many place options but no DST - is that correct?
How to apply the ultra savings theme to standard mode without actually going into ultra savings mode?
Just wondering since I really like the black & white theme in ultra savings mode I just don't want to have my phone all the the time in ultra savings mode.
Anyone notice that when using Factory widgets for the time and weather that the time doesn't update? It work fine before GB. I uninstalled it and then tried the moto and Verizon widgets the work fine.
Noticed the banner at the top of the screen that displays "Time on Battery" becomes distorted after time. The top right corner of the banner starts to slope down and the blue accent line becomes broken. Seems to have started after the latest update.nyone else noticed this? It appears to become progressively
I'm running into an odd issue, and I can't seem to find any fixes for it. For some reason, I can only update apps in the Play Store one at a time. For example, this morning I had 10 apps show needing updates. I tapped on "Update All". One app updated fine, then the next one went to "Downloading", but never showed a statusAfter over 30 minutes, it still just showed "Downloading". I tapped on "Stop", then "Update All" again, and one more app updated, then the same behavior of the next one just sitting on "Downloading" happened. I kep repeating this, and got all of the apps updated. This happens on 3G, 4G, and Wi-Fi, both at work and at home. I've tried clearing all data/updates from the Play Store app, and completely removing and re-adding my Google account.
Okay, so in my house I have a wireless router that I have two laptops, an android tablet, and several unactivated smartphones that I use for developement purposes all connected to. All these devices connect to and stay connected to the wifi without a problem. Some are set for static ips and some are set to dhcp. My Droid 4 is set for static ip and I've tried several different numbers. The wifi connects fine and for the most part stays connected fine. But at least once a day I will pull my phone out of the holster and see both the wifi and 3g icon on at the same time as if they are competing to connect and both failing; neither icon is blue and the apps that require a data connection don't work. I have to toggle wifi off and back on for the 3G icon to go away and the wifi to reassociate and turn blue. This is a minor inconvienence but I just wanted to put this out there to see if any one else is experiencing similar issues and more importantly to see if any one has figured out a way to fix this. The primary issue with this glitch isn't just that the data is disconnected when both icons are on but that it seems to drain the battery a bit quicker. Normally with either wifi or 3g connected with a blue icon the battery seldom drops below 50% in a single day of usage. On some days it doesn't even drop below 70% after a day of use. But when the two icons are in a tug-of-war over who should be connected my battery can go from 100% to 60% real fast. Fortunately, most of the times that this issue has occured the phone has been plugged into the charger. I've included a photo of what I'm talking about. BTW, I don't have 4G in my area which is why I'm have the 3G icon.
I have a problem when someone I know on ATT's network sends me an e-mail to my Gmail account. It can take hours. I really thought I had a sync problem but I ran a test today. Everything came through from other providers immediately, including a user name request from this website that went to my Gmail account. Is this a common problem with other networks? An ATT issue? Just this one person? Maybe they don't have their IPHONE sync set right?
I have a Droid Turbo and I want screen cast to my Chromecast some TV recordings I have on a hard drive. My tablet struggles to keep the hard drive spinning over OTG, but my phone powers it just fine. Problem is, the Chromecast needs a WiFi network to connect to, so I turn on the hotspot on the phone. When I do that, I have to disable WiFi on the phone, so it can't see the Chromecast.
My wife's Droid Turbo is displaying the wrong date and time. Like right now, its 6/14/2015 8:37 am but hers displays 6/9/2015 12:03 pm. I've tried clearing her phones cache but it didn't work. Will factory reset work or will she need a new phone?
Using GB, every time I activate GPS in settings it asks me if I agree to the terms. I can avoid this by using a third party widget to activate GPS. But is there any way to get the warning agreement to take the first time and not have to see it each time I use settings?
I tried various clock widgets and since upgrade to GB, the time does not update, the clock on the top status bar will have the correct time and the widget will show like 2 hours ago. If I tap the widget, it refreshes and shows the correct time, otherwise it's stuck. Anyone have a flip clock widget (ala HTC Sense clock), preferably with weather that will work with the DroidX and GB? Will the new mr6 update in mid-august fix this? Analog clocks seem to work, so my guess it's some sort of update/refresh service in GB is not working correctly.
There is a setting to enable the RAZR to automatically keep its time correct by syncing with a time server somewhere on the internet. When I checked the time on my RAZR against my PC, where I have a service that sets the time from an atomic clock, I found that the RAZR was off by more than 14 seconds. I disabled the option and instead installed an app called "ClockSync" that sets the correct time. Unfortunately, the automatic time update setting is required by Verizon in order to login to My Verizon Mobile, so I either give up checking my data and call usage or I give up accurate time. This is very annoying. Can we get Verizon to use a reliable time server instead of whatever they are using now?
Connect 2 head sets simultaneously to Bluetooth on the DX ? We're traveling to Europe and I have Audio Tours loaded on my DX. Would be great if BOTH of us could listen to them at the same time during our walk-around. I just don't want to pay for a new headset just to TRY it. I will if I get confirmation that it works.
On the Droid 3, it appears SMS timestamps are based on the time a message is received, rather than sent. For the most part, this is not noticeable, but in some cases (such as having your phone off), it is. It is more useful to know the time a message is sent, than received on your phone.A side effect of this is, if you use a program to restore your SMS threads, the dates will all be lost. On other phones, such as the Droid, restoring threads does not lose the timestamp. This is disappointing because after upgrading to my new phone, I have lost all context for my SMS threads.

I got a droid 2 global for Christmas for myself, and after I was finally getting to the point of loving it, it started to make my life miserable by continually powering off. Verizon replaced it with a refurb, and I've noticed that this one shows both the 3G and wifi icons when I'm at home/work with a wifi network onI do have an unlimited data package, however there are obvious benefits to using wifi as opposed to 3G, but how do I know (besides slow data) which one I'm using, and why is it doing this? I've only had this for a week, still have to do a bit of configuring, but I'm wondering if this is the tip of the iceberg and if I have another phone which is going to go psycho on me.
Over the past few weeks the date on my phone has reverted several times back to June 28, 2008.
When this occurred, the phone also failed to use or keep network time. I thought it might be the battery, but it shows a strong charge. This is the kind of symptom I would associate with a cmos battery failure in a pc. Does the X have a cmos battery like a PC?
I almost missed an important appointment as my phone thought it was still years away!
