View 9 RepliesI bought a Z5 the other day and I haven't tried NFC until I got me a scr42 style cover for it. I noticed the smart window function doesn't work and realised that the phone doesn't display the NFC icon in the status bar. I've tried activating NFC from both the pull-down menu and the settings and in both the option lights up as if it were enabled, but the icon does not appear and the phone doesn't react to the tag on the cover.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSometimes (actually quite often) when I try to wake up my phone from standby, the display will just stay black with the LED turning white.The screen itself reacts, I can feel it vibrating when I touch it.Same when I recieve a call that would wake the phone or an alarm etc.Taking out the battery fixes the problem temporarily, so does waiting around 10 minutes then try again, but not all of the time.I already tried the following things:
1. I reseted the phone to factory settings. The problem still occurs even if it's just like out of the box.
2. I connected the phone to the computer to check if there were any new updates since 4.0.2.a.0.69 but there weren't any (please correct me if I'm wrong).
3. I took my phone to my carrier (Germany) and they sent it to a service center. I got it back and they said they fixed it (the carrier couldn't tell me what exactly they did though) and it worked fine for exactly one day. So this forum is my last chance, I saw a similar thread here so I think I'm not the only one with this problem. None of the posts could help me though and I was afraid if I posted there my problem would go unnoticed. Please don't be mad at me if that is considered rude or something
I don't want to take the phone to the carrier yet again seeing as I took them almost a month to send me my phone back without even fixing it correctly. I will if I have no other choice as I still have guaranty on this not even half a year old phone, but as long as I can avoid it, I'll try to fix it myself..I have the feeling the problem came with the last update. I don't want to upgrade to ICS as I don't like the look so I'm wondering, will there still be other updates for GB coming out?I don't want to flash the phone back to an older firmware as that would mean unbranding it and makes me lose my guaranty?

Touch screen works, I receive calls, charging works, able to switch-off / switch-on, etc. Service Center person says liquid log near the display connector. Not sure where this water has come from into the phone and using very delicately as I am yet to complete EMI :-(

I recently upgraded my Ray to version 4.0.2.A.0.62. Since the upgrade the Bluetooth doesn't turn on at all, just says "Bluetooth turning on" then reverts to an off state. Prior to the update it worked perfectly. Upgrade was done using PCC, no errors, but even so have tried several repairs since and still doesn't solve the problem. Have tried factory resets, rollback to the original version, Sony Update Service instead of PCC?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got a big problem with my Z3. It was working just fine today I had about 50% battery, though I wasn't going to use it anymore. I'd just put it to charge. I thought I might as well give it a reset now and again as well as clear application processing etc. So I turn off my phone and plugged it in.
I have noticed an odd red blinking LED which I've not seen before (whilst charging), so I thought I might as well turn my device on and see if there is anything wrong. It seems my device refuses to turn on.
I've then consulted the internet to find any way I could fix my device. The only way I was going to be able to do anything was via Sony Companion apparently. So I set it all up and let Sony download was was needed to hopefully repair the phone. Followed all the instruction until I came to this.
No matter how long I hold the volume down button and plug the phone in, it just doesn't want to work. There are no vibrations even when trying to force the device. I've also tried to reset the phone via the hardware button located next to the Sim tray and that didn't work either.
So now I've just left it to charge via wall socket the red LED in the top left corner is still blinking as I'm typing this. Seems I'm stuck with a dead phone at the moment.
Wifi doesn't turn On, even after several restarts but my bluetooth and mobile data works well...

After coming back home I connected it to the wall charger and the light is blinking red. When I hold the start button there is a red light constantly but it won't turn on. Holding volume up and start button also doesn't work and there is no vibration. I tried the yellow reset button near the SIM tray and that didn't work either. My phone had a 16 GB built in memory which was pretty used up (It kept telling me transfer to SD card since memory was above 75%). I was going to buy a microSD card for it but now this happened. Is there something I can do to fix my phone?

I've tried restarting and removing battery, sim card and sd card several times but to no avail. I cannot even turn it off since the off button is also touch key. It's my boyfriend's iPhone & we've dropped it plenty of times in the past going on 6 months now, so you can imagine it has plenty of cracks & the back had come off to where we taped it back on. Recently - a few days to a week ago I dropped it & it seemed fine until I tried taking a picture of our cats and the camera opened to a black screen. Everything else works fine except the speaker when we call out we have to put it on speaker for someone to hear us - already tried cleaning out all the ports. I don't want him to go to the iPhone store and have them complain about all the issues wrong with the phone and go extreme bill on him either. Yes I have tried restarting his phone, I just don't want to completely reboot it when it's under his mom's account & her iCloud. & The front facing camera works.

yesterday out of the blue the display on my active stopped working. i connected it to the pc and did a reset/reinstalled the firmware but still no display.i can play music using the original headphones and the headset controls and the home/menu/back buttons light up when i press the unlock key but that's about it.oh yes and i think i managed to unlock the screen even though it was totally back as i could could play/pause music and skip tracks using the screen controls (pressing where i guessed the music controls were).
