For some reason I can't add names when sending text messages. The cursor stays behind the to part. I now have to go into contacts and choose to send a text. This as happened since the last update.
I'm just wondering how many text messages my 9780 can hold with one single recipient. I've been scrolling up for some time now and can't seem to find an end. Ahahah, just wondering.
I have a Lumia 800 and have discovered a bug where the recipient name is wrong if contacts have very similar phone numbers. Example:
I have two contacts with the following phone numbers Contact 1. - 0703 246 802 Contact 2. - 0705 246 802 Note that the only thing differing the contacts is 0703 from 0705.
Regardless of whom of these two I send a text message they always show as being sent to Contact 1. This includes any History as well, they are all grouped into Contact 1 regardless of to which phone number I send the text message to. This is very annoying and it makes it impossible to see who actually had the message sent to when looking back at the history. I have tried moving the numbers around to different contact categories, changing contact name and so on, but it has made no difference to the behavior.
the X10 I have discovered something that really bugs me. When I am creating a SMS text message and select "Add recipients" my Phonebook opens and present a list of recipients. The problem is that at least 10 copies of every contact name (person) is presented as a selectable option, one each for every telephone number field in the contacts name profile (mobile, work, home, pager, etc) ALTHOUGH most of them are empty! Why is it possible to select Mr AAAAA's home number as a text message recipient when the number is not stated in Mr AAAAA's contact data (the corresponding filed is empty)?
I have appr 250 contacts in my phonebook, all listed with 10 times as possible text recipient although 8=% of these fileds are contains no number and are empty?
HiI have had complaints from people I am speaking to of loud static/banging noises. These noises happen intemitantly with no real pattern, virtually everytime I make a phone call. I cannot hear them on my end though! I have been told that this is extremely annoying, almost painfull, and people no longer want to talk to me!
Messaging App(By Default app) showing an error while sending a message after salecting contact from my contact book. Error is " Message has no valid recipient".
I've noticed a couple issues when sending a text message to multiple people. On my old curve, I could hit the menu button, click "add TO", choose a contact, and thats it, simple. But on my Bold, I have to click, "Show recipients", and add another recipient. Now, the problem arises when i want to send it to only one more person. I choose the person and it has the next option for recipient open, which is blank cause im not choosing anyone else. I hit "ok", and it does nothing. I hit "ok" again and when i send the message, its sent duplicate messages, meaning each person gets the message twice. Same thing happens when forwarding. Id choose the person i want to forward the message to, but when I hit "ok" it doesnt do anything, so i have to hit it again and it adds the one contact twice. Anybody know how to fix this issue? Or is this just a common glitch that hasnt been fixed yet?
how I manually add a contact. I had a look at the help page and it tells me to open Timescape and do it that way. But it's a new phone and I don't have any records in there. I jusr want to add some more contacts. I know I can do this via my Google contacts but there must be a simple way to do it on the phone, but I just can't find it.
When I + New Event in my Agenda in Calender the New Event Tableau do appear but after having filled in the relevant field and upon saving the event, the phone says "creating new event" but this not recorded and not see under the heading agenda meaning that it was not created.
I have a Danish SK17i with build 4.1.B.0.587. It has stock ROM and is rootet. What I want to accomplish, is to write Korean, but I do not want to change menus etc to Korean. I have tried a number of keyboard apps from the Play Store, but none of them support the SYM key and the globe key on the hardware keyboard (and some didn't support HW keyboard at all). I've also tried changing the HW keyboard as described on xda dev [URL]. Is there a way to add Korean to the writing languages of the stock keyboard, or do I need a custom ROM?
I have one phone number and I want to use it but I open my information in contact list there a another phone number like 5552161470. How can I get rid of that.
I cant even add an email address to a contact in the contacts app because the only choice you have is a numerical keypad for adding data, despite the fact the contacts app gives the message "Add a Name or Number" in the phone app
How on earth can i add a Name with a Numerical keypad? Why do we have to have an email contact in the email app and a phone contact in the phone contact not unified in one contacts app?
Total proof that Sony does not think Innovative. Unlike Apple, which allows addition of facebook page, twitter, web address, emails.
A mere single contacts app should be the HQ for all forms of initiating communication with a known contact, but with Xperia and Android, it seems that you have to have to find Mr Smiths email address by going to email app, and his phone number by going to contacts app.
The stupidest thing about the Xperia is that the phone app says ""Enter Name or Number" but only allows you to enter a Number, and has no Keyboard to enter a Name!
Very recently I cleared all my contacts, then sync my contacts with my gmail account. The problem is that it is adding on to my internal memory, why is this happening when I have sync my contacts with gmail. I do not have any contact on my phone. If I can find a solution for this, it will save 7.5mb of my space, where in I can accommodate something useful.
I sent a message to a person via his iPhone. He had no idea who the message was from, so he called back the number shown. Is there a way to show who a message is from. I know in email you can change "Sent from my iPhone" but I see no way to do this with a message. I have an iPhone 4s.

I updated my Ovi Suite from 2.0 to 2.1.0.87. Now, when I go to messaging, click on Add recipient and select the name of a contact for which the number is +XX(YY)ZZZZZZZ (XX being country code, and YY being area code), I get an error message saying "Recipient not valid" and "Recipient "<+XX(YY)ZZZZZZZ>" is not valid. Cannot send the message."This is a serious regression from previous version... and plain WRONG. THis is the standard international form for representing a nubmber. It used to work with 2.0, it's the format Outlook automatically formats numbers to.This needs to be fixed very fast.
For a BlackBerry 9700 Bold: What name or information of the sender (besides phone number), if any, is viewable by a SMS or MMS recipient? Does it make a difference if the senders name and phone number is in their contact list?
My BBM on my 9360 curve isn't working. I send a msg and it appears to go (Has the customary tick next to it but no 'D' or 'R' and the recipient doesn't get it. I have tried the battery pull as nothing else worked but still no good.
Has anyond had issues, or know how to address a current problem I am having with the recipient of MMS. I go to compose an MMS, address it to the correct person, send it--but it send to a completely different person. Although both phones received the message, it only confirmed the inadvertant address in my sent list. This has happen at least 4 times, only with MMS and all to the same "wrong" person.
How can I remove a recipient from email before recreating the whole mail? I tried to drag it to some places but it only moves it between "to" and "cc". How can I completely remove it?
What happens to messages sent via iMessage or as text messages if the recipient's phone is off? Are they queued and resent when the phone is turned on? Or do they end up in the bit bucket?
There is an issue i am facing over my new phone as whenever i write an email using hotmail i am unable to have my contact list to add as a recipient so i have to find the email alternatively and than have to write it, how can i have my hotmail contact list in my email over bb? so i just type the name and can select the reciepient?
If I try to send an E-mail to a Hotmail address with a 1.2 MB picture in it, the Nokia 6700 indicates after a very long time that the message is not deliverable due to network issues. What is the reason, is the picture too big? Or is it a provider-related issue?
I have been experiencing a really annoying problem with my headset and I was wondering if anyone could help. I cannot hear my recipient when I call/receive calls unless i use loudspeaker or headpiece. In other words, people can hear me fine but I can't hear them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
When sending an email, my E72 used to offer suggestions from my address book when I start typing in the "To" section. That is no longer working. My only option is the click in the box, and another window opens where I then select from my address book.
I am unable to hear the voice of the recipient/ caller in case of incoming/outgoing calls. I am able to hear the songs, default tones etc in the phone, only problem is during call time.
brand new Bold 9650. Issue: I want one suggested "contact" to go away. Example: I have Dave Smith in my contact list, he's the only Dave. But one time I got a listserv email from Dave Adams, whom I do not know nor care about.Dave Adams not a contact, but my friend Dave Smith is.Now every time I begin composing an email to "Dav" the BB suggests Dave Adams first. How do I make this guy go away?
MS Outlook has a featured called "suggest names while completing the to: cc: bcc: fields..." where it does a similar thing. It will suggest any random name you've ever emailed, whether or not it's a contact. HOWEVER...you can delete that name right then and there. To me it seems similar to the predictive text input issue.I.e. one time computer was misspelled "comptuer" and now every time you type comp comptuer is suggested. It's not in the custom dictionary, and there doesn't seem to be a way to get rid of it.
