Has anyond had issues, or know how to address a current problem I am having with the recipient of MMS. I go to compose an MMS, address it to the correct person, send it--but it send to a completely different person. Although both phones received the message, it only confirmed the inadvertant address in my sent list. This has happen at least 4 times, only with MMS and all to the same "wrong" person.
View 1 RepliesI have a Lumia 800 and have discovered a bug where the recipient name is wrong if contacts have very similar phone numbers. Example:
I have two contacts with the following phone numbers
Contact 1. - 0703 246 802
Contact 2. - 0705 246 802
Note that the only thing differing the contacts is 0703 from 0705.
Regardless of whom of these two I send a text message they always show as being sent to Contact 1. This includes any History as well, they are all grouped into Contact 1 regardless of to which phone number I send the text message to. This is very annoying and it makes it impossible to see who actually had the message sent to when looking back at the history. I have tried moving the numbers around to different contact categories, changing contact name and so on, but it has made no difference to the behavior.
My wife has a Droid X which has recently started acting up in the last few weeks. Using the stock Text Messaging app, when she responds to a text message, the receipent name and number is not the person who sent it, but someone else (usually someone she texted with recently). Sending it, it goes to the wrong person. Turning off/on the phone only helps for a short time, as it happens rather quickly again. I have done a Factory Reset on the phone twice and still it happens. I have even gone as far as installing Handcent and she still has the issue, but many times it will show the correct receipent name, but goes to someone else.

For a BlackBerry 9700 Bold: What name or information of the sender (besides phone number), if any, is viewable by a SMS or MMS recipient? Does it make a difference if the senders name and phone number is in their contact list?

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn several screenshots that were sent to me from my friend's iPhone, the clock would say something like 7:57pm in the corner. That time matched my time as well.. But when I view details of the image, it would say 9:57. Now the tricky thing is, my friend was in a different time zone earlier that week and would have been 2 hours ahead of me if she were still there, but she was supposedly back in my state at that point. Is something wrong with my phone or did she change the time of her clock to match my own, while in reality she's still two hours ahead and my "details" section knows the truth?

MS Outlook has a featured called "suggest names while completing the to: cc: bcc: fields..." where it does a similar thing. It will suggest any random name you've ever emailed, whether or not it's a contact. HOWEVER...you can delete that name right then and there.To me it seems similar to the predictive text input issue.I.e. one time computer was misspelled "comptuer" and now every time you type comp comptuer is suggested.It's not in the custom dictionary, and there doesn't seem to be a way to get rid of it.
I'm just wondering how many text messages my 9780 can hold with one single recipient. I've been scrolling up for some time now and can't seem to find an end. Ahahah, just wondering.

I figured maybe it was just a fluke, so I tried to send another picture, and the same thing happened. I have a 4S running on iOS 5.0. I reset my phone a few weeks ago when I was playing around, and I restored it from my iCloud backup. Everything was fine except the filename counter for my pictures was also reset to IMG0001. I transfer pictures to my computer regularly so now I have many pictures with duplicated names, such as IMG0001.JPG and IMG0001 (2).JPG. This is much of an annoyance but I can live with that.
However I have even weirder things happening now. Let's say before I reset my phone I had shot a vidoe and the name was IMG0010.MOV. After the reset of course the video is gone, and I take pictures with my phone as usual. So I took a picture whose name as IMG0010.JPG again, and when I try to see it in the camera roll, I see the first frame of my old video! In the thumbnail view it is the right picture, but when I tap on it to view it, it shows my newly taken picture for about half a second, and then displays my old video. I guess there must be some old cache on my phone that override the picture display. Does anyone know how to fix it?
I should add that the picture is also displayed wrongly in my photo stream folder on the phone. On the other hand when I access the picture from the computer (in the DCIM folder, and in the synced photo stream folder) it is the right one. But I want to view the pictures on my phone! I can't take my computer with me anytime!

It's not showing up like a proper conversation, just two titles (my name and the reciever's name) with all of our texts in order. This is really annoying, and I want it back to how it was - normal.

I have my profiles set to play tone A for emails and tone B for SMS messages. (Tone A and Tone B are just generic tones preloaded on the BB for the sake of the explanation - I doubt the particular tone I have set is causing an issue). this worked fine with my older OS, but since the upgrade I have been experiencing random times when the tones will actually revert to tone C (which sounds like BBPro_Sanguine for the record). This occurs without any predictable pattern as a replacement for either tone A or tone B. Sometimes I can go a day without this issue, but the next day I may notice this Tone C alerting me for hours until it reverts back to the proper tone (either A or B depending on if the alert is for an email or SMS), and I have absolutely nothing to do with it reverting to the proper tone. I have tried a battery pull, but the problem persisted.

When I receive a call, it shows the incorrect caller ID, but the CORRECT photo of the true caller. Often it shows the last person that called rather than the true caller. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9700 and currently have v5.0.0.423 (Platform 5.1.0.116) software on the phone. I have done one software upgrade since getting the phone in February.
I have an intermittent problem, that when the phone rings, it shows a contacts name, but it isn't that person who is phoning, it does however display the right number which is currently ringing.. So the number isn't the contacts' it shows. This happens with saved contacts as well as none saved one, it shows random contact names.
Then I also can not do a full shutdown. If I choose "Turn power off", it gives me two options: "Turn off" and "Full power off". Whichever one I choose, it just does the quick shutdown and not the long reboot one.
Both these problems started after upgrading my software to v5.0.0.432.
When I access the call log from the main screen, highlight a call and select view history, the date displays wrong. Even if I just made a call, hang up and view the log, it shows the date as the next day. Example: Made a few calls last night (Mar 08), then had to report date and time; after all calls made, viewed call log to get times and showed calls made on Mar 09. However, if I go to Messages / View Folder / Phone Call Logs, the dates are showed correctly. Any idea why this is?

It shows the wrong number but under the name I am searching for. 3-4 times I called wrong person because my bold showed and dialed a different number for the name I am searching for. I don't know how to solve this.When I type the name of the contact I'm looking for my Bold 9000 displays the list of contacts as usual but the phone number of the contact is wrong. I have to scroll to another name on the list then scroll back to the name I was looking for in order to get the phone to display the correct phone number. After answering the security question, my password is being sent to the wrong e-mail address created which of-course I couldn't open anyway as it is a wrong e-mail address. View 4 Replies View RelatedI woke up this morning (24th December), and my phone had set the date and time to the 29th November, and the time is 6 hours behind (its now 3pm and it is apparently 8:43 on my phone.) Moreover, I can't read my text messages, I can't see text messages that I send, and my blackberry services have stopped working (i.e.. I cannot send emails or access BBM.) I have restarted/rebooted the phone almost a million times, but every time it comes back on the time keeps being set back to 7:49 every single time. I have no idea what to do!

I know in email you can change "Sent from my iPhone" but I see no way to do this with a message. I have an iPhone 4s.
