Even though the topic has been discussed a thousand times, I can't upgrade my son's X8 from 1.6 to 2.1. Serial-Nr. is SI 1242-0705 and I believe there more X8 from these series which can't upgrade. Update Service and PCC say the phone's software is the newest available. Built is 1.3.A.0.50. Firmware 1.6.Are there more x8 users without an upgrade to 2.1 out there? Are there any news from SE?

I decided to upgrade my Xperia Pro (SI 1252-5232, it´s in the list) to ICS. the Sony PC Companion sees the phone and writes an update to version 4.1.B.0.587 is possible, so i click on agree, it downloads the SW to the PC, and than it TURNS OFF THE PHONE and shows a step-by-step guide how to update (1. disconnect USB cable from phone and PC, 2. battery must be +50%, 3. turn off phone and wait 5 sec.->>???WTF? how can i turn it off when "it" turned it off itself? 4. connect USB cable to PC, 5. hold "back" key and connect phone to USB). I tried it several times, with MTP and MSC mode, disconnected it, turned off, waited 5 secs, pressed "back" and connected" maybe 5 times all the possible ways, but it simply does nothing when I press the back button and connect it, only the LED is green.
I´am doing wrong? How long should I press the back button, which phone-settings are required, where could be the error?
i got the thing on my phone about a week ago that said a new software update was available. i didnt download it then. and now when i plug my phone into my computer the PC Companion says its up to date and im at 2.1.

I upgraded my phone last night and tried to restore my data, it started working so i just left it but it seemed to be taking AGES, anyway I decied to just let it carry on overnight but when i checked it again this morning its still nowhere near completing it says contacts are on 98% an text messages on 10% should it be taking this long and how do i speed it up? surely it shouldnt take 12hours

I was tired of getting the run around from AT&T about when this would get updated and now I see 2.3 is coming out and there is still no update info from AT&T. Well I ran into a problem. First of all I didn't backup the phone before I ran the flash (idiot mistake) I ran the flash and everything seemed fine until it rebooted. Got the camera and the little arrow waited for that to go thru and the phone now keeps restarting itself.

After the update the phone is showing invalid sim(bsnl).It is working with other bsnl network sim cards.When i approached sony people ,told me that they cannot give warranty as the phone is valid to use in saudi arabia & not in india.Now if i root it & downgrade to GB will i able to use the same sim.I don't want to use new sim with same number as the old one having lot of money.

View 7 Replies View Relatedjust upgraded to ics yesterday and now im unable to connect to android market and im having issues with the connection using wifi.google market apps and other apps does not connect to internet using wifi. the only apps albe to connect till now are Internet, gmail and the built in web browser. if i use any third party browser like opera.no connection at all. got message "connection timedout" tested the same apps with data connection and just works fine. the issue is only while using wifi.already performed a repair using pc compagnion.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the PC companion and when this didn't work I uninstalled it again and redownloaded the must current version from SE website. It still tells me my 1.6 is the most up to date.
