I upgraded my phone last night and tried to restore my data, it started working so i just left it but it seemed to be taking AGES, anyway I decied to just let it carry on overnight but when i checked it again this morning its still nowhere near completing it says contacts are on 98% an text messages on 10% should it be taking this long and how do i speed it up? surely it shouldnt take 12hours
View 6 RepliesVerizon Samsung S5 with Kit Kat and want to update to the latest Lollipop. The question is about restoring all the apps and data after a factory reset after the upgrade.
1. I have moved a lot of programs to the SD card- do I need to move them back to Device Memory?
2. If I sign in with my Google account after the Factory Reset after the OS upgrade, will all the apps automatically be restored/installed?
3. I have the Google backup set automatically and restore automatically- will the data and settings be restored as the apps are restored once I log into my Google account?
4. What about all my internet email accounts (Comcast, GMail, etc.)- will they automatically be restored for the messages that are on the S5 and automatically connected to the accounts or do I have to reset these up again?
5. The S5 is also my work email, which is an Exchange Server- will the Factory Reset mean that my IT dept. needs to reestablish the connection between the S5 and the Exchange Server or will that happen automatically (if emails are part of the automatic restore?)
6. I have Keis 3 installed on my computer- should I use this as a backup and restore instead of relying on the automatic Google backup and restore?
I recently changed over to a Z3 from a Note 4, i had photos and messages backed up on my google account but cant seem to access or restore to phone.

I decided to upgrade my Xperia Pro (SI 1252-5232, it´s in the list) to ICS. the Sony PC Companion sees the phone and writes an update to version 4.1.B.0.587 is possible, so i click on agree, it downloads the SW to the PC, and than it TURNS OFF THE PHONE and shows a step-by-step guide how to update (1. disconnect USB cable from phone and PC, 2. battery must be +50%, 3. turn off phone and wait 5 sec.->>???WTF? how can i turn it off when "it" turned it off itself? 4. connect USB cable to PC, 5. hold "back" key and connect phone to USB). I tried it several times, with MTP and MSC mode, disconnected it, turned off, waited 5 secs, pressed "back" and connected" maybe 5 times all the possible ways, but it simply does nothing when I press the back button and connect it, only the LED is green.
I´am doing wrong? How long should I press the back button, which phone-settings are required, where could be the error?
i got the thing on my phone about a week ago that said a new software update was available. i didnt download it then. and now when i plug my phone into my computer the PC Companion says its up to date and im at 2.1.

I was tired of getting the run around from AT&T about when this would get updated and now I see 2.3 is coming out and there is still no update info from AT&T. Well I ran into a problem. First of all I didn't backup the phone before I ran the flash (idiot mistake) I ran the flash and everything seemed fine until it rebooted. Got the camera and the little arrow waited for that to go thru and the phone now keeps restarting itself.

After the update the phone is showing invalid sim(bsnl).It is working with other bsnl network sim cards.When i approached sony people ,told me that they cannot give warranty as the phone is valid to use in saudi arabia & not in india.Now if i root it & downgrade to GB will i able to use the same sim.I don't want to use new sim with same number as the old one having lot of money.
