Nov 25, 2010Just upgraded to 2.1, when I recieve a call it rings twice then rings! siliently,before upgarde it would ring (sound) at least six times.

Motorola Photon 4G :: Number Of Rings Before Phone Actually Rings?
Nov 2, 2011Been a happy Sprint user since 2005 and have used various dumb phones and smartphones. The Photon is my 3rd Android.I have noticed that each phone , whether smartphone or not, has the same issue that has caused me to miss incoming phone calls here and there - the caller dials my number and hears several rings before my phone actually starts ringing. The phone goes to voicemail before I have the opportunity to answer the phone.The solution for my phones has always been to adjust the Slot Cycle index from the default setting of 2 to the setting of 0. This causes the phone to poll towers more frequently, thus the phone is more quickly aware of a new incoming call. The only negative implication is that the phone goes through battery a bit more quickly during the day...but it's really only a tiny difference. I've done this on my phones, on my spouse's phones, my mom's phone, etc.
Since the Photon's battery life is so much better than my prior phone (EVO 4G) I am very comfortable in adjusting the Slot Cycle index, so I obtained my MSL from Sprint and attempted the adjustment by going to the Dialer:##DATA# ->tap green Dial icon -> to the Data Settings menu...tap Advanced->From there you can see that the Slotted Index is set to 2. So I wanted to change the setting but can't get to it from Menu->Edit->enter MSL code->VerifyI called Sprint about this issue, and in the past they have helped me to change the setting. I have called more than once and have been dealing with the more advanced Tech Support team. No one at Sprint can figure out how to adjust this setting on the Photon.

Oct 15, 2015I have bought this new Z5. The issue that it rings for the first time only and after that it get silent. I restart the phone and same thing happened. Rings for first time then get silent. The ringtone is original sony ones.

When people are phoning me, I can hear it ring once, and then it rejects it. The people phoning all say they get told that the phone is busy on another line and are being sent directly to voice mail.

Aug 22, 2012I decided to upgrade my Xperia Pro (SI 1252-5232, it´s in the list) to ICS. the Sony PC Companion sees the phone and writes an update to version 4.1.B.0.587 is possible, so i click on agree, it downloads the SW to the PC, and than it TURNS OFF THE PHONE and shows a step-by-step guide how to update (1. disconnect USB cable from phone and PC, 2. battery must be +50%, 3. turn off phone and wait 5 sec.->>???WTF? how can i turn it off when "it" turned it off itself? 4. connect USB cable to PC, 5. hold "back" key and connect phone to USB). I tried it several times, with MTP and MSC mode, disconnected it, turned off, waited 5 secs, pressed "back" and connected" maybe 5 times all the possible ways, but it simply does nothing when I press the back button and connect it, only the LED is green.
I´am doing wrong? How long should I press the back button, which phone-settings are required, where could be the error?

I was tired of getting the run around from AT&T about when this would get updated and now I see 2.3 is coming out and there is still no update info from AT&T. Well I ran into a problem. First of all I didn't backup the phone before I ran the flash (idiot mistake) I ran the flash and everything seemed fine until it rebooted.
