Xperia X10 :: When Downloading An Application How To Cancel It
Sep 28, 2010
i have just bought the Xperia X10 phone and i think am having trouble with it already. This is my first Sony Ericsson i am normally a Nokia girl.
Problem 1 is: when i press the back arrow on the bottom right hand of the phone i doesnt automatically go back it seems to think about it for about 5 minutes or so.(not all the time but quite alot of it) should it be faster than this. do you think i need to take the phone back and get it looked at
Problem 2 is: when downloading an application how do i cancel it because i have realised that some of the apps that i am downloading are American and i am in Australia so they are of no use to me now.
Problem 3: how do you delete sms's
Problems 4: when you recceive an sms does it come up on the screen at all or do you have to look at the top left hand corner of the screen to see if there is a little envelope there?
I have a problem with my Xperia Neo. I can't download an application, because it says that there's not enough space left. It doesn't make any sense because when I check how much space I have free, then it says that there's plenty of space and yet it it can't be downloaded from Play Store..
you can drag ^ on home screen and see the application which i downloaded from market (free applications) like games etc, i cant see application drawer in my entire menu, i see icon name by application installer but when i open that its empty, so i am still wondering where all downloaded application are? i mean from where i can find them i have only OI file manager which is installed on my phone nothing else?
ive got a question regarding the facebook application on my blackberry.apparently downloading the application is free but what about actually using the application. do i have to pay for that or is it free aswell? furthermore, what about when im in a foreign country?
I have withnessed applications in loops and did not find any other means to terminate them than to re-power the handset. The last time I was listening to a wma -music file loaded from the coms-with-music library when the player checked (and checked and checked) for the rights to use the music. It just kept playing but the checking never ended and locked the player. I'm sure that there must be some trick to terminate such an application without having to shutdown the phone.
The process I go through downloading is correct but I don't understand why my device isn't showing/downloading the application BlackBerry Maps. After I go through the process and reach the "download" part, it only downloads the BlackBerry Maps installer and that's it, after rebooting which it asks, no Maps is downloaded. I have tried this several times to no avail. I have a Bolg 9780.
whenever i download and install applications from ovistore it doesn't continue and ends up as error. and when i tried to sync again my phone to nokia acount (the one where nokia sends link to your phone to sync it) i never receive the message. the instruction in the manual syncing doesn't seem so helpful as i can't find the "To create the profile, select "Menu", then "Connect", then "Sync" part.
Nokia is really driving me nuts with this, I have one applicaiton in particular that will just not complete the download. It is a paid application so, when I get a message, maximum download attempts reached, it is very upsetting. I have logged feedback request via the built in feature in the application store and you can see clearly Nokia does not care what response they send a person.Upon further research, I find some other applications have this issue too. What is going on Noki
I was wondering if you can download an app from a site to a pc then upload to BB via cable. I don't have web access from my BB as bell as it was too expensive. $70.00 a month was a bit much said my wife.
For the last couple of days, whenever i download any application, it keeps downloading the same twice. I mean once the download is complete, it again starts the app download from teh beginning. Starting today, its keeps downlaoding without stop
Bought My BlackBerry Bold 9000 7 months ago. It has been working flawlessly except for: The Application memory severely restricts me from downloading the really nice stuff from app world. Besides there seems to be something which saps the Application memory that goes down from 20 MB to as low as 5 MB.The Device does not connect thru bluetooth to my Desktop Software which is downloaded on my Toshiba M200 laptop.
I'm downloading an application right now and I want to know how I can cancel the dowload. It said that if i'm opening a web page or something like i just need to press the button on the buttom left of the phone press more and then download and like that i can cancel my download , but when i follow the step they say that my dowload history is empty, but in the top left of the screen of my phone we can see the little arrow that show i'm dowloading and when i drag the arrow down i can see the application dowloading but nothing in the dowloading history. So i want to know if there another way to cancel download.
I have an X8 with the 2.1 Android update, I have noticed that if I try to download something using my wi-fi internet while the phone is connected to the PC then the download gets stuck, any further downloads also dont progress and it is not possible to even cancel the downloads in such a case. Only solution I have found is doing a factory reset. But I am afraid it might happen again, if I download apps while the phone is connected and I dont want to have to reset it again.
There is a bug in firmware which causes phone calls to be cancel by accidentally touching the screen with face. The bug is present since 2.3.4 and is still present in newest. The problem is Neo V tries to be smart and turn the screen on when the phone is placed horizontally. Unfortunately it sometime fails. So the actual problem is with identification of the phone orientation, which points to accelerometer. On the other hand the idea of turning the screen on when detected orientation is horizontally seems to have completely no sense. Reliable and robust solution would be to stick with proximity sensor data only and not to take orientation into account when deciding whether or not to turn the screen on.
So, got excited about the MotoACTV this past Saturday and bought online through Motorola. Realized soon after that my local REI had it in stock and I had a xmas gift certificate. Went to REI and purchased it - (Canceled my order for the Garmin 910XT in the process) Went back to the site to try and cancel my order but the 'Cancel items or order' button on my order page wasnt' functional. No biggie, I'll call. After being passed around to the same 3 depts TWICE, I was finally told the ecommerce section was closed for the weekend. Once again, I understand that.I then call on Monday, they tell me the order hasn't yet shipped but I'm not allowed to cancel it at that point. Don't quite understand and getting a bit frustrated at this point but whatever, I'll deal. Customer rep tells me that they'll issue a return slip and email it to me.
OK, I'm good with that.Wednesday comes and still no email with return slip. I call, go through the same 3 depts again and get someone else who tells me that it takes a while to get the return slip but I'll have it within 24 hours.24 hours goes by, I call again and get hung up on 3 times in the process before I can ever get to anyone. Once I get someone on the line, they tell me that it should be to me within the next couple of days... A RETURN SLIP?Once I finally lost my temper a bit, they said it would be 'escalated' and that I should be receiving it within a few hours... we'll see. They also let me know that I could not return it without the receipt.Meanwhile, I've completely soured on the one that I purchased and I'm considering returning it as well and changing my order back to the Garmin. By the way, I called Garmin's support team just to compare... night and day!
I cant upload photos in facebook from neo v. When i click on share with facebook, it started to upload and in notification bar i show 3 notification of the same photo and i can't able to cancel the uploading.
I have Z2 and I love this phone but sometimes ı forget my phone in some places.. My problem is when my phone is locked i can shut the phone down I want something when my phone is locked nobody can shut it down..
I'm having a little trouble with my Calendar on my phone. I'm using the stock in calendar, sync with Google calendar (which in turn has import from my hotmail). On my old G502 phone, which I loved for its simplicity according to its price tag, there I could press a snooze, or OK button when the calendar started reminding me about an event.
Here the phone keeps reminding me all the time, its like there is no Ok button, only a snooze? If the event started at 1, and the event last until 2, but I had the alarm set to 0.30, then it would start at 0.30 and continue until 2. I have to manually enter go to the event, hit edit, and turn of the alarm inside there. Is there no simpler way of doing this?

Today i tried to repair my xperia ray. I have 4 mbps connection. It takes more than 4 hours to download the updates. Still its running .. why? i checked the connection in speed test, it show correct speed of my connection.. What the **** is this? How to resolve this? is this will affect the phone if i install / repair my phone now in this condition?
Checking for system update on the phone showed an update build no. 23.1.A.0.690 which apparently is Android Lollipop was available via PC Companion only. So I connected via PC and followed the instructions. It took a while to download the Android L update and message prompted that the device will turn off. The device then turned off and the message on the PC Companion said that there was no updates available.
Now even my PC Companion says I'm running the latest version which is Kitkat. I tried checking for an update over phone. It says I've got the latest version...
