Xperia X10 :: Backup And Restore App Downloaded But Install Blocked
Nov 20, 2010
I got the Backup&Restore app downloaded, but when I try to open it I get the error message: "install blocked. For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in android market." I can figure out where to change these security settings. Doesn't seem to be in phone settings or browser settings.
I know how to backup & restore, but how do I install it in to my X10?.I go to browser I in put m.sonyericsson.com/backup but it just taks me to a page that tells me how to backup in steps. Why can I just hit a link on that page that will just let me install the new backup & restore,
Yesterday I made a backup file with the sony ericsson program "backup & restore" and after the update i can't find this tool on the new version of android.I tried it with the URL behind the QR-code on the ericsson website. The download was possible, but when I want to install this tool then the phone says the application is not installed.
Before i installed the update i installed and made a backup with backup and restore and now after i updated the phone i cant seem to install it again. When i press to install it it loads for 1 sec and then sais "Program couldnt install" but in swedish ofc. ofc i have allowed the unknown sources thingy and it still doesent work..

Recently i bought Xperia X10. I bought in Singapore. And am using the mobilenow in Singapore. And i updated my Android verson in my mobile.* While i am trying to install games in my Xperia X10 Mobile, Getting message like - For Security, Your phone is set to block installationof applications not sourced in Android Market.
I go to [url].../backup on my phone's browser and download the application. I have checked the Unknown sources tick box. I get to the installer window and press "Install". It always comes back with "Application not installed" with no explnation.
I am using AT&T Xperia X10.I tried to upgrade my firmware to 2.1.So, I need to download backup and restore application but it says 'For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in Android Market.'ALSO, there is NO unknown sources in applicaiton settings. I only have Manage applications and Development. There is NO Unknown sources. What can I do? Is there 2.1 firmware version that I can upgrade? How can I do?
I am trying to install the back and restore download on my Xperia X10 phone, but I get an "install blocked" message. It says that my phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in Android Market
My 'backup and restore' app won't back up my text messages... it backs up the other things on the list for example the contacts, call logs, brower history etc. I would like to save the messages before I update my phone.Or unless there is another way of saving my messages, i.e. saving them onto a pc or something.I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro.
I had faced this issue when i last updated my phone when the 2.1 had come out.. I installed the latest Backup and Restore application as recomended by the SE update site.. Then backed up my files onto an already existing backup (which i think has corrupted the backup), hence overwriting the file.. After that i upgraded to 2.1 and restored my files, which failed because the contacts were not successfully imported (even though the Backup and Restore app said that the import was succesful.)
i was asked to repair the firmware using PC companion and hence want to backup succesfully without any problems. I cant risk loosing my contacts again. And i want to know from others in this forum if they have faced this issue on normal backup (not overwritten on an existing backup). [URL]
recently I have experience this problem, I have downloaded some application from Market, it's already 100% but it's not installed on my phone, when I click on it, still said downloading, even it's already 100% and I have been waiting 1 hours, is there any way to resuming download manually? If I press cancel download, it will start from 0 and will happen again, getting tired with this :'( but this is not always happen to all application, mostly big size application.
I recently updated to 5.02 from 4.4.4. Everything is fine except that I made my backup via "backup and restore" app on my 4.4.4 Z2. Now the problem is, 5.02 B&R app states that my file is now incompatible.
I have searched Google for any work-around and try downloading few preloaded non-xperia Z2 apks but not working. Also searched this forum but none found.
When I go to m.sonyericsson.com/backup I get 'Cannot find message associated with key http.550' message. I would like to upgrade to Android 2.1 on my X10 mini.
I've been told 2.1 is available for my U.S. AT&T xperia x10. I was given a link on the S.E. website by AT&T. As part of that i am trying to download the latest SE Backup and Restore app I go to the link provided by S.E. for the latest Backup & Restore, the file downloads to the phone but when i click on the download to install I get a message that says: "For security your phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in the android market"
Recently i have updated my device software to 2.3 ..then i cant find icon for backup and restore on my home screen for restoring the backup file... how can do i restore the backup file ?
i want to upgrade the memory to 4 gb How to Backup the old memory and restore to new one also i cannot download anything from google plsy erro 495 what does mean
Backup & Restore not installed on the x10 I just bought. (Neither is Moxier).Since Backup & Restore is a d/l from SE, not the market, ATT is barring me from even installing it
I just factory reset my z3 because stamina mode wasn't working and I wanted to give it a go to see if factory reset would work. I used the built in Backup and Restore app to backup my messages (conversations) to my SD card (everything else was backed up through Google already). Well, every time I hit the restore option it finds the file and acts like it is restoring, only to leave me with nothing. And every time I reset my phone it alerts me that a backup is detected and wants to do a restore.
After using the on-device Backup, I want to restore just CERTAIN apps. Â Will the restore function give me the ability to choose which apps I want to restore or will it restore EVERYTHING i backed up if I click on restore?
i purchased my X10 from greece and the version i bought was the X10i because that was the only offered but thats the one i need being that i now live in the USA and i use Tmobile (Tmobile 3G compatibility).about 15 days ago my xperia could not start (for the second time) so i sent it to the SE support center in the US (for the second time) and they told me that the motherboard is fried and they need to replace it which they did but the problem is that only the X10a is offered int he US so they changed it to that. im ok with that change due to the fact that i barely use it nowadays since i am near wifi most of the time. Now, my Problem is that before i sent it to get fixed (the second time) having an X10i i upgraded the OS to 2.X and i also backed up all my contacts/bookmarks/txts etc to my memory card (mini sd card) with backup and restore and i had it set to back it all up every night(which it did). unfortunately X10a does not have the 2.X upgrade yet but still i went to the m.sonyericsson.com/backup site to download the latest backup and restore software and when i tried to restore my contactsit tells me "could not restore data"is that because i dont have the new OS ( 2.X ) or is it because i dont have the X10i motherboard anymore? or is it because of some other reason i cant think of...?also, is there anyway i can restore my contacts/call logs/txts etc?

Is there a way to backup or export the blocked contact list of my iPhone? I want to backup or export or transfer the blocked list from my old iPhone 4s to iPhone 5s. I know I can backup the whole content of the old 4s and restore it to 5s in iTunes but I got another blocked list in my 5s and I don't want to overwrite it.Â
I have a LOT of blocked numbers which I have accrued over the last 12 months from mainly marketing texts and other annoyances. My iPhone 5 needs its power button replacing as part of the Apple recall and I've been asked to wipe it of all its settings beforehand. I just wondered if all these blocked numbers are backed up in iTunes as part of the normal backup, or is there something else I need to do to retain them all? As I say I have dozens and dozens of these numbers so I'd like to get them backed up so I can re-instate them once my iPhone is fixed.Â
