Is there a way to backup or export the blocked contact list of my iPhone? I want to backup or export or transfer the blocked list from my old iPhone 4s to iPhone 5s. I know I can backup the whole content of the old 4s and restore it to 5s in iTunes but I got another blocked list in my 5s and I don't want to overwrite it.Â
I have a LOT of blocked numbers which I have accrued over the last 12 months from mainly marketing texts and other annoyances. My iPhone 5 needs its power button replacing as part of the Apple recall and I've been asked to wipe it of all its settings beforehand. I just wondered if all these blocked numbers are backed up in iTunes as part of the normal backup, or is there something else I need to do to retain them all? As I say I have dozens and dozens of these numbers so I'd like to get them backed up so I can re-instate them once my iPhone is fixed.Â
This question is not specific to the Nexus 6P, but that is the phone I carry. I add 2 or 3 phone numbers (telemarketers) to my blocked call list every week. When a telemarketer calls, I
(1) hang up, (2) go to the call log, (3) tap the call record to expand it, (4) tap "call details", then (5) select "block number."
That's all very simple. The issue is that now that I have dozens or hundreds of blocked numbers , when I miss a call, there's no easy way to see if the missed call was from a number on my blocked list. A missed call from a blocked number looks the same as a missed call from an un-blocked number (unless they're in my contact list). I can scroll through (but not search or sort) my blocked call list by
(1) opening phone app, (2) tapping "Settings" in the primary menu, then (3) tapping "Call Blocking."
This presents a list of all of the numbers that I've ever blocked, but I can't search it and I can't sort it.
in a perfect world, the Call Log would somehow show a flag for missed calls from blocked numbers so that I don't have to search the list to see if the number is blocked. In an even more perfect world, a tap on that number would take me to a detail page showing all the times that number has called and been blocked. Finally, the blocked number list would be both searchable and sortable. I think that most/all of this could be accomplished by a 3d party app - for which I'd gladly pay five bucks. There are lots of call blocking apps on the market, but they all appear to operate separately from the Android native call blocking function.
I got the Backup&Restore app downloaded, but when I try to open it I get the error message: "install blocked. For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not sourced in android market." I can figure out where to change these security settings. Doesn't seem to be in phone settings or browser settings.
My goal is to make a back up of my iPhone contacts, preferably in a printed list. I figured the way to do that would be to somehow merge my phone contacts into my Google Contacts on my MacBook (however, I do not want to merge my Gmail Contacts into my phone, as there are 100s of contacts there I do not want/need on my phone, so I am proceeding cautiously). Under Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar >iCloud. I have Contacts "On" (but have not done an iCloud backup FWIW because I am not sure my data is less than 5gb). Doing this alone does not work.
I used the RESTORE option from my back up, the software restored everything except my Contact list. I also tried to restore specific items.... the option to restore contacts does not allow me to tick it for restoration. I have a Bold 9700, abt 2.5 yrs old. Due to some glitch the complete contacts list is in the back-up, my google sync has only half !!
I just downloaded the new OS, and for some reason my contacts got messed up.
Some contacts were tripled, and doubled, some numbers were moved to different contacts, or deleted.
Is there a simple, or any kind of way to get back my old contacts list from a previous backup, while at the same time keeping the new OS, and replacing only this contact list?
I have backed up data via Desktop Manager for a Curve 8520 which has recently been stolen. I would like to import only the Contact List contained in that back up data from the stolen device to a new Curve 8520. However I do not see any method to do that other than to "Import Files" to the new Curve from the backup data via Desk Top Manager from PC. Is that possible or is that not the mechanism to accomplish this??
what do you do to restore your phone if bloked after an update? mine is stuck on the picture showing the iTunes symbol and the usb plug & arrow. What ot do? I have no other phone to use and get help!

My iphone 4s was stolen last night during a crowded bus ride. I got two locations on find my iphone from icloud, and now I have blocked my sim card. What I am not sure of is if the thief can access my apps, where bank details and my adress is stored?I have a passcode, but can this be unlocked(?), and maybe the thief saw me unlocking the code before they stole it. Not sure if I should press remote wipe or not, as London police told me they would not go to search the tracked address, as they don´t have resources for that.
Two nights ago I thought my phone 4 had been stolen so I had it blocked, only to find it the next morning. I unblocked it and was told it would take 24 hours to go back on. However I was able to use it after a couple of hours, sending texts, going on the internet and ringing people. Then yesterday all of a sudden I am getting no signal. People have text me yet I havent received any and when I try to ring someone it instantly says the call has failed. I've already tried resetting my network settings but that hasnt helped, ive also left it off for several hours.
I successfully blocked my caller ID when I received my phone (in phone>settings) but now that option entirely disappeared. What is there to do without completely resetting my phone? At one point I asked Sprint to unlock my phone and I was able to use it outside of the US. Now it's back to the US SIM and everything is fine except that the caller ID blocking/unblocking option disappeared.
