May 15, 2011I like to read at night with my phone (using Moon+ Reader), unfortunately, the softkey backlights stay on all of the time. I have looked for apps to disable these lights, but nothing works so far.

Apr 15, 2015Every few days I get a notification:
"Messaging not default sms app. Tap to make Messaging your default SMS.."
(that's what it says; it actually stops mid sentence). I click on it and there's a dialog box:
"Change SMS app?
Use messaging instead of Hangouts as your SMS app?
No Yes"
Now obviously I don't want to do this (why would anyone), but I click on No and the box goes away but it'll come back again later. I can't uninstall messaging, and when I load it to see if it has options to never do anything again ever the first thing it does is pop up the "Change sms app" box again, and when I press No it quits.
Xperia Z5 :: Hiding Navigation Bar Without Root
Jul 3, 2010Most apps work great with the status (top) and navigation (bottom) bars in my Xperia Z5 compact. For instance, Netflix will disable both bars in fullscreen videos. Most games do the same.
However, some apps like Xplane or German media apps keep showing the navigation bar. This looks rather silly and takes away precious space on my screen.
Is there any option to manually remove the bars in these situations? Is there a way without "root"?
Xperia Z5 :: Possible To Hide Navigation Keys?
Sep 6, 2012Can move the Home, Back and Recent buttons down off the screen? I have seen this option on the Oneplus One as a setting - device - buttons that is on the lollipop version too. I find this layout most annoying on the Z5 E6683 as it gets in the way of most apps and reduces the actual space available on screen.

Apr 17, 2015Recently, I updated my xperia Z3 DUAL (D6633) to a 23.4.A.1.232_R4C firmware version. After that, I realized that internet browsing using WIFI connection is slow. Page takes too long to load.
Tried using either Chrome and Firefox. Results are the same. Disabling WIFI and navigating with mobile data (3G/4G) runs fine.
Made factory reset, clear cache and software repair using Phone Companion. Problem remains.
I tried other wifi netwoks. Tried same wifi using other devices. Problem is with Z3.

Jan 6, 2012I normally use gps with data traffic off, and in open sky. Have two navigation apps installed: google maps and CoPilot Live Premium. Have used both of them without any issues before (on Xperia ray), position used to be determined in a matter of few tens of seconds from first start. If I try to use any navigation app now, it simply cannot detect the position. Remarkably, it does see the gps signal, but no matter how long I wait, position remains to be undetermined. To investigate the issue further, I have installed the GPS test app. It shows clearly from 7 to 12 sattelites in use, but position remains to be undetermined! I should add that with GPS test it becomes clear that the number of visible (and usable) sattelites time after time drops down to 1 or 2 without any reason, just for a second or so, and then again jumps to 7-12... I saw some claims in the internet, that this problem has to do with AGPS, but I am not expert in this and so far I haven't found any good solution to the problem.

Jun 9, 2010I have big problems with the default e-mail app on X10. It keeps loading every e-mail that I ever received, one by one, meaning that the app is slower and slower as time passes. At ~500 e-mails, it is not usable any more. It is veeery slow, it does not manage to download new e-mails, etc.The only solution I have found is to delete the entire e-mail account when it gets too slow. Once I have gone through all the steps of adding my account from scratch, e-mails download without problem. That is, for a few weeks, until I need to delete the account again...Of course, I found a great e-mail app on the Market. But of course, TimeScape only loads e-mails from the default app...... Is the e-mail app default Android, or is it specific to SE?

I have tried rebooting, doesn't help.I sync my calendar with outlook through google. There are some semi-advanced entries there, ie meetings with replies. However, problem persists when I disable that calendar from my outlook.Calendar data is accessible for my agenda widget. Data shown on the widget is even updated when I add data to my google calendar.

I don't think this is related to the upgrade as I was receiving texts for 2 days after upgrading. I normally use Handcent as my sms manager, but I've uninstalled it and gone back to using the pre-installed Messaging software, but that has not resolved the problem. I've also deleted messages so its not a case of Inbox being too full.
