Xperia Pro/Neo/V/L :: Un-Stable ICS Update, Missing Some Necessary Features
Jun 6, 2012
I am having a Neo V and i have upgraded it to ICS but its not a stable one. So, i want to know when is the stable version for thi is going to be released? also it does not support the video calling feature although it has a fornt facing camera..so should the customers expect this feature included in the new stable update of ICS?
I recently updated my 3GS from 4.0 software to 5.1. I feel like I am missing features. Do I need to also download the 9 downloads of the 4.2-5.0 updates to get everything or is it included in the 5.1?
I just got a new Sony Xperia z3 today and I've updated the system and.everything seemed to.be fine at first and then I notices my notification bar at the top had changed.from black.to grey and everything is different and seems to.be a lot of missing features.
i has update my xmp twice, in first attempt got random reboot while use intrnet browser and my phone reboot automatically. 1st attempt i use SEUS but i take the recommended update not the reset factory date+update. and i also notice fb app eat lot of ram event when mobile date or WiFi is OFF and i think this is the reason why my phone reboot itself because the system has insufficient amount of ram. 2nd attempt in upgrading to ics, i use seus bt i choose reset factory data+update. after first boot, i decided to disable fb apps and all the unused apps in my phone for notification led, the bug is there for example when charging the led stay on red even there is new msg or missed call. Camera also produce lot of noise dispite the size of the picture is increase(this is well known issues) and the worst part is, no on screen notification when new sms or missed call like GB 2.3.4.. sony only put signed of new sms or missed call at top of the screen(on the left) that make me difficult to see.. 1 question to Johan, i believe you are the customer service or moderator in this forum , this ics version 4.1.B.0.431 is the beta version for us? if yes, will SMC give an update with the stable version like GB? But please give us 4.1 update, we are the user and we deserve it!
I use a torch 9810 and I just upgraded to the new OS 7.1 and not all the new features are on my phone. For example I don't have FM radio, the mobile data e.t.c what can I do to get these features.
Nokia has me back as a loyal customer again after my debacle with the Nokia N97. I noticed three things that I thought are fairly critical, that are missing, all related to the phone part of the N900.
1) In my E61 and the N97, one could while in a call, choose a contact from the contact list and send number as DTMF, this feature is particularly useful when using calling cards, which I do 2) From the call log of both the E61 and N97 you could choose an entry and edit the number before calling, helpful sometimes when roaming and the incoming number comes with an odd prefix because of odd carrier routing of the call 3) In Contacts, is there no field for Middle Name?
I have tried a fair bit of searching on this and other sites, oddly couldn't find anything on these, any one have any thoughts?
Currently own an N96, and I was thinking about getting an N900, but I've been hearing a lot about incomplete software and missing features? I know that MMS is not supported by default in the N900 (you have to download third party software), but also there is no GPS/map software? Also I heard that you cannot video call?
Could someone be kind enough to list the features that I will be used to as an N96 owner, that aren't available in the N900 "out of the box". I know it's possible to download new programs and stuff, but I'd like the core functionality to be Nokia's own software just so it's consistent in design and quality.
Nokia 808 Belle FP2's gallery is still crippled. There is no way to organize photos into folders or tag them in any useful manner. And there no possibility to select multiple items for sharing etc. Gallery cannot zoom images that are downloaded to the phone from other sources no matter how big these images are.
None of these limitations were present in Symbian Anna, so this is a major drawback and downgrade in terms of features even this 808 shoud be Nokias's current flag ship phone on photography domain.
Just been given a Curve 8520 by my son, lucky me. When he gave it to me it had all of his settings for a different network and wifi settings. So i thought it would be easier to do a full wipe and start a fresh. However since doing this i have no email setup and no option to update software or wifi .I have tried downloading new software but it gets to the" Check for updates screen" and goes no further. I have to close it down and restart the computer. I have left this to run for over 3hours thinking it may work but to no avail. I have tried it with desktop software running and without, with and without a sim card.
I understand that 3g versions are able to customize voice recognition input but the wifi version is missing this option in the settings...are there other missing features? Why can't the wifi version customize voice recognition? It's under Settings, Language and Input, Voice recognizer settings - there's no "personalized recognition" on the wifi version...?
I am writing to express my disappointment with the Nokia product I purchased recently.
I bought an E66 handset from Carrefour in Shanghai last month, thinking that it would have full features.
With the Nokia site for China not having any information available in English, I used the Nokia site from Oman (where I am currently living) to research the specifications.
It was not until I returned to Oman that I realized that the E66 sold in China and the E66 sold elsewhere was not actually the same phone.
The phone that I bought is missing key features that persuaded me to buy it in the first place. It is missing:
Front camera. 3G capabilities. WiFi connectivity. Lifetime navigation with OviMaps. Plus a range of other features that I was looking for.
This is marketed as a business phone, yet is missing the features I need to properly conduct business.
I do not understand why a global brand such as Nokia would ensure that the E66 model would have the same features universally.
I am thoroughly upset and disappointed at Nokia; having been a Nokia user for more than 12 years I have been let down by the brand that I have remained loyal to. Essentially, I was misled into buying a very bad phone.
Is there any way that you can explain the reasons behind the difference in the Chinese and Global E66 and/or equip me with an E66 that has the features I am looking for?
Nokia, been using Maps on a Lumia 820 for two weeks now, and while the touch interface is of course a huge step forward from my previous E52, there are several (I believe essential) features that are strangely and desperately missing:The basic map view is fixed to "north up" and doesn't show any indicator of the direction the device is pointing to. The E52 had both a compass indicator and an option to rotate the map according to the device's orientation. I find map orientation essential in "pedestrian mode", especially when you're in an unknown place. While we're at map indicators: when zooming, either with the pinch and zoom gestures or with the optional +/- buttons, the map does not show a scale or ruler which the E52 also did. Both offline maps and microSD card support are unique characteristics of Nokia Maps and the Lumia 820. However, storing downloaded maps (probably the biggest data chunks on your phone) on the microSD card is not supported. You really have to the store your offline maps the phone's internal memory? When you open your list of placemarks (or favourites), that list is sorted alphabetically. With more than a few placemarks (I have well over 500, collected over many years) that's almost useless, because you see named locations scattered all over the world when you're really looking for the name of that restaurant you visited somewhere nearby some time ago. On the E52 the favorites list was of course sorted by the distance from the currently displayed map area (or the current location), which is so much more useful.
Did anyone else notice that the RAZR HD didn't get any of the new jelly bean camera features? Like swiping over to see your pics then being able to delete pics by swiping up or down. I was looking forward to those features but they were left out with new update.
The wifi connection is very unstable in neo v. It get disconnected in ever 5-10 min. I have running in ICS 4.0.3 and i have also marked never the wifi setting.
Please, how can I give a stable IP address to my phone(Xperia Neo V) with system Android 4.0 ??? It was easy before, but now i can't find a possibility to do it, so I can't connect to the internet at home.
When I rotate my phone, it takes 1-2 seconds for screen to rotate. The os is android 4. When I am using phone in a wifi area, the wifi icon in the phone screen shows that the wifi connection is not stable, and periodically moves from low to high. Note that the wifi source is near me. Is this a phone problem and minus for Xperia ray and Sony?
I finally gave in and updated the phone because the shutdowns and restarts were getting ridiculous but now cant find / or access memory card no matter how many times i restart my phone or take the card out however the card itself is fine and works as i can put it directly in laptop and access my stuff on there.
I tried to update to Android 4.0 via the Sony Ericsson Bridge for Mac. The software prompted me to change the settings to MTP, after I changed, my Mac couldn't detect the phone. After I disconnected the phone, I found that many of my Apps went missing. Went to Google Play store to reinstall the apps, only to get the message "App cannot be installed in default location". My phone memory storage has been really low lately, about 30Mb left, and I haven't installed any new apps. I have moved most of the apps to my SD card, not sure what has happened.
I update my Xperia Play and now all the data was deleted. All my games are deleted and all my contacts. Any way to get them back back or did i have to pay for the games again?
Updated this morning to camera v2. Now there are all the second pages from the menus missing. If i click on "more" nothing shows up. So i am unable to get to Image stabilisation or grid. I cleared the data and cache but its still not working.
Since the update, my phone no longer go into landscape. When I text, I usually flip landscape to do it. Now I cannot. Portrait Only. When I snap pictures, I always flip into landscape mode to view them.IT STINKS looking at the pictures in portrait mode. Two large black borders on top and bottom. I also discovered since the update, my phone can't read bar codes. My 920 is crippled but the update was supposed to make things better but it didn't and I'm sure there isn't much I can do about it but be annoyed for the next 2 years.
I used the default 'Notes' app in 1.6 to store lots of info (and my gf's xmas list!) and now in 2.1 it's empty. I used the backup/restore and even Zipped my SD Card separately in case of data loss but cannot work out how to retrieve my notes.
I recently updated my xperia mini pro to android 2.3.4. The new features like video on Gtalk, 3D panaromic camera, swype, etc. are welcome changes. But what disappoints me is that one essential thing is still missing, a smart dialer. Yes, I can pick one from the market, lots available for free, but none will blend in with the default theme of the phone. So SE please think on providing this.Another thing is the missing animations. SE stands out for style but again two really nice animations are removed. One is the CRT like animation you get when the screen is turned off on hitting the power button. Second one is when you open the SMS app.
This thread is dedicated to all satio users who have complaints and complements also this thread will list all the issues the satio has and what improvements you can make in the next satio update. the consumers who brought the satio for a hefty price of £400 thinking that this was going to be the ultimate device were sadly mistaken as the satio isn't even a device that you can say featurewise even fits into the mid range market for its price. I and all the satio users want to get the features that all high end smartphones have e.g kinetic scrolling, voice dialling etc. (btw don't tell us we cant get them even the low/mid range nokia 5800 has these features). also if you didnt know already there was a petition started by me on the 16th of July which now has 1570 people signed up to it. here is the petition link http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/satio-software-update.html here is the list that we all 1300 (probably more some people didn't sign the petition so about 4500) of us want you to fix the issues with the satio and give it the features that all high end phones have now a days. * Upgrade to symbian^3 (the x10 is getting android 2.1, also the Satio doesn't utilize symbian^1 properly; also this could help you compete against the nokia n8 which has a 12mp camera) ** HD recording (the x10 is getting HD recording why not the Satio it has the required cpu to handle HD recording, this would also help you compete agianst the nokia n8) 1) Kinetic scrolling throughout the whole UI 2) Give Vivaz home screen 3) Media search function in media player 4) Make phone louder (loudspeaker when receiving call, when playing music out loud) 5) Auto continuous focusing whilst recording 6) Better picture quality e.g. sharpness, less compression and faster camera menu 7) Auto change to full qwerty mode if you make you phone landscape from alphanumeric mode 8) Integrated EQ in media player (allowing you to manually set your EQ: up all SE's had this) 9) Fix the screen lag that some people have (screen tearing), this is due to the software 10) Fix clock problem (clock losing time) 11) Proper zoom in media (When you zoom the photo enlarges but does not fill the whole screen! why?) 12) Upgrade the web browser to V7 13) Add smart search to dialler (previous SE phones had it) 14) Improve microphone quality (video/sound recording is very quiet) 15) Ability to play HD films on phone; also divx/xvid support 16) RDS in radio. 17) Change volume level and tracks whilst the phone is locked.i hope you will consider all of these for the next update or otherwise me and the other 4500 (which totals to 4500* £400 = £1,800,000) people who brought the satio will move to another manufacturer (nokia, htc, apple) also anyone feel free to comment
