Xperia Pro/Neo/V/L :: PC Companion Startup Screen - Connect To Internet Option
Apr 3, 2012
My previous sony ericsson phone had a PC companion startup screen which included the option 'Connect to Internet'. This new Xperio neo V, when you start PC companion does not offer this, only Support Zone, Contacts Setup, Media Go, Sync Zone and File Manager. What has happened to the 'Internet Connect' option? This was very useful for connecting a PC to the internet.
Sony PC companion is not connecting to internet. Am able to browse internet with all other applications.
I've exewcuted the application as administrator but no use. I've downloaded the latest PC companion but still it's not working. Also I've tried in every way to coonect to internet i.e, by unmounting sd card, mounting sd card, USB debugging etc. PC companion is detecting my phone (XPERIA Neo V) but it is not connecting to internet.
When I connect my phone with my pc via pc software "PC Companion", it did not recognise my device, driver MTP didnt install in pc.how can i connect with pc companion.
But from couple of days if I connect my phone to pc with usb cable , PC companion is not detecting the phone when phone is in media transfer mode. Earlier it was perfectly working and I was able to access sd card data from phone and from pc as well at the same time. Also pc companion shows proper details and also shows it is running latest software. Not all is gone, if i connect with media tranfer mode, it doesn't detect anything. If change it to mass storage mode, it is unmounting from phone and showing as "Phone memory".I have tried following in mobile
1) settings-> manage apps -> created MTSapp cache
2) rebooted phone "N" number of time and tried connection.
3) removed data from phone (the message pc companion shows there is more data on phone and it will take time). but didn't work even after deleting my music, pics etc...
In my pc: re-installed everyting pc companion latest version.Nothing worked for media tranfer mode. Even it is not charging battery too when connected to phone. Is there anything left to test SONY device and software?
so i got the notification on the new software update nd it says connet to a pc to recieve it. then u get told to download this pc companion. so i have done. then i notice it says no phone connected. so i click how to connect i then get to stage two and it says connect usb cable to your computer and then to your phone so i do that and nothing happens. i wait 30 seconds and nothing happens i disconect my phone and connect it again and still nothing happens all its doing is charging my phone. i've done it over and over again and nothing happens.
I have a Z2 and the latest software update arrived yesterday and I want to update my phone but pc companion can't recognize my phone and I have tried all of the following instructions that it gave me but still nothing!
I can't connect my X10 mini pro with PC Companion although I tried all the steps and supports instruction (reconnect the USB plug, tunrn off then turn on the phone, uninstall then reinstall the PC Companion, etc...). It appeared (a thousand times) "No phone connected".
After trying many times and after disabling the AV program I could install the Android 2.1.I installed some free apps from the android market. Now when I try to connect the phone through PC Companion, the phone is restarting several times and I cant do any file management in the sd card
I tried connectiong my xperia play R800i to pc companion via wifi, followed the steps and everything but when it tells me to tap my pc name under connectivity settings/ trusted devices for wireless media transfer it's greyed out? Im running windows 7 x64 by the way and my phone has v2.3.4
i checked on the sony website, they say ics update for xperia mini is available but when i connect to pc companion or update service, it says you phone already has the latest software but it has GB, please tell me how to fix it.
Trying to connect PC Companin via Bluetooth i get to the point where I enter a four digit code on the phone, then immediately recieving a message on my computer that connecting thrue bluetooth is not possible, then urging me to use the USB cable. Bluetooth is activated on both items. I'm running Windows 7 on my laptop.
my problem is that it does connect with PC companion with USB, but not with bluetooth. It does get paired, the pc sees the phone, correct name, gives me the 4 digit code, and put them in the phone, but when I put in the phone, it seems ok, until PC Companion just says I cannot connect via BT, and tells me to try with USB cable. Why would I try with BT, for any other reason that not wanting to use the cable?Well, anyway, BT in the PC is ok (i used to connect with a Palm Treo 1 week ago), and BT in the phone is ok, it connect with car's handsfree.
My SI number is 1246-7737 and I want to accept the update with ICS.But it said my software is up to date however then i cannot connect to PCC or US .What the problem it was?
I want to update my Xperia Play to version 3.0.1.A.0.146, but PC Companion 2.0 wont let me. I change my phone to 'mediaoverdracht modus' ( it's in dutch, i don't know the english word ). It's the modus that is required for updating your phone, and it's step 3. But it fails every single time. PC Companion keeps saying it is unable to connect to my PLAY. No errorcode or nothing, it just gives the advice to reconnect my phone to the PC.
My Nokia E71 is currently running on 3 software and is not showing my Vodafone internet. When i open up my web browser on my Nokia is asks me where i would like to connect to and i receive the following options: 'MMS' 'Mobile Internet' and 'Planet 3', all of which i have tried and no luck. I have a pre-paid plan on Vodafone which allows 500MB free data. On my previous E63, i presume it was running on vodafone software because it had shown an option to connect to my Vodafone Internet.
I am not able to Connect my Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 min pro through PC Companion either by USB or by Bluetooth. I tried all the permutations and combinations suggested by Sony Ericsson support pages, yet no resort.
However, stragenly I was able to upgrade from Android 1.6 to Android 2.1 through PC Companion (though PC Companion refuses to detect). Now my handset say there are updates available and to be updated through PC Companion. However, this time PC Companion is not bending in any direction to support me.
How many users have lost the feature to connect to PC wirelessly after ICS upgrade? My phone's (Xperia mini pro) SI : 1249-0751 Android version 4.0.4 (4.1.B.0.431)
At first it was restarting 20+ times a day after continuous use, That i could just about deal with as i am due an upgrade after 2yrs. However, one time after i plugged it in to charge it would continuously reboot everytime it got past the startup screen, then it decided to stick on a plain white screen for a few hours. I let it run down on battery to see if this would help but when i went to use it again it started with the usual "Sony Ericsson"screen plus the coloured swishy display but then it just stays on a blank/black screen. It is backlit so it's not turned off. I would normally just let it be and wait for my new phone but it has all my contacts etc stored on the actual phone and not my sim.
I have a X10 mini with a broken screen, and I want to read my messages. The problem is PC Companion is asking me to slide down the screen and choose "USB Connection".
Earlier today after I woke up, I was just gonna check something on my phone, when I was met with several errors saying that this and that programmed had stopped working. I chose the option "ok" on all of them because the other option report would not really get me anywhere. The thing was these errors kept coming repeating themselves (same apps getting errors repeatedly).
So after 10 min of just pressing ok on these errors I decided to reboot my phone, but when I came to the startup it stops/freezes on the SONY EXPERIA display. I can't trun it off with the on/off button, so I searched everywhere on the internet about this issue but none of the classic hold volume down + volume up + on/off button to turn it off gets me past the freeze after it goes off.
I usually use smart connect and NFC tag to fully silent my phone at night time (no vibrate or sound), yet the only option in smart connect is sound, vibrate and priority, and priority mode vibrates. I realise I can now change to full silent mode from the lock screen with the volume button, but i thought it would be an option to put into smart connect as a selection.
I had a software update come through recently which told me I needed to go to the Sony Ericsson website to update it.. I tried to do this and it appears I can only update it using a PC as its not compatiable with a Mac computer (which I have).I have tried running the software update on the phone and as it can't connect to the internet it wint update anything.. so Im stuck in a circle now.
