But from couple of days if I connect my phone to pc with usb cable , PC companion is not detecting the phone when phone is in media transfer mode. Earlier it was perfectly working and I was able to access sd card data from phone and from pc as well at the same time. Also pc companion shows proper details and also shows it is running latest software. Not all is gone, if i connect with media tranfer mode, it doesn't detect anything. If change it to mass storage mode, it is unmounting from phone and showing as "Phone memory".I have tried following in mobile
1) settings-> manage apps -> created MTSapp cache
2) rebooted phone "N" number of time and tried connection.
3) removed data from phone (the message pc companion shows there is more data on phone and it will take time). but didn't work even after deleting my music, pics etc...
In my pc: re-installed everyting pc companion latest version.Nothing worked for media tranfer mode. Even it is not charging battery too when connected to phone. Is there anything left to test SONY device and software?
I want to update my Xperia Play to version 3.0.1.A.0.146, but PC Companion 2.0 wont let me. I change my phone to 'mediaoverdracht modus' ( it's in dutch, i don't know the english word ). It's the modus that is required for updating your phone, and it's step 3. But it fails every single time. PC Companion keeps saying it is unable to connect to my PLAY. No errorcode or nothing, it just gives the advice to reconnect my phone to the PC.
I am not able to Connect my Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 min pro through PC Companion either by USB or by Bluetooth. I tried all the permutations and combinations suggested by Sony Ericsson support pages, yet no resort.
However, stragenly I was able to upgrade from Android 1.6 to Android 2.1 through PC Companion (though PC Companion refuses to detect). Now my handset say there are updates available and to be updated through PC Companion. However, this time PC Companion is not bending in any direction to support me.

Trying to connect PC Companin via Bluetooth i get to the point where I enter a four digit code on the phone, then immediately recieving a message on my computer that connecting thrue bluetooth is not possible, then urging me to use the USB cable. Bluetooth is activated on both items. I'm running Windows 7 on my laptop.
my problem is that it does connect with PC companion with USB, but not with bluetooth. It does get paired, the pc sees the phone, correct name, gives me the 4 digit code, and put them in the phone, but when I put in the phone, it seems ok, until PC Companion just says I cannot connect via BT, and tells me to try with USB cable. Why would I try with BT, for any other reason that not wanting to use the cable?Well, anyway, BT in the PC is ok (i used to connect with a Palm Treo 1 week ago), and BT in the phone is ok, it connect with car's handsfree.
My SI number is 1246-7737 and I want to accept the update with ICS.But it said my software is up to date however then i cannot connect to PCC or US .What the problem it was?
My previous sony ericsson phone had a PC companion startup screen which included the option 'Connect to Internet'. This new Xperio neo V, when you start PC companion does not offer this, only Support Zone, Contacts Setup, Media Go, Sync Zone and File Manager. What has happened to the 'Internet Connect' option? This was very useful for connecting a PC to the internet.
i can't install the PC companion 2.00.146. i already downloaded it but when its time to install it it says "Error Number: 0x80040707. Description: DDL function call crashed: NewUI.ISGlobalSubclassDialog." i already downloaded it 5 times assuming that maybe the PC companion was not downloaded properly but again the same problem occurs.
For MONTHS I have been unable to back up my phone using PC Companion. Â Also for past 2-3 days, I keep getting an prompt to tranfser data from phone to SD card, popping up every few hours and it's doing my head in. Â I'm going away and would like to back up my photos and transfer them to my PC and have a clear photo album...but how do I do it.
I am unable to connect phone in PC companion mode. in phone it says its connected in Media transfer mode but in the PC companion it says no phone connected. what could be the case? I reinstalled PC companion by downloading the software from the ericsson site but its still the same.
i got the update notification for xperia x10 few days back, i quickily connected it to pc using pc companion and took the backup, then i started the update process, it reached till prepared, and after that it started initialization, but here the problem started. it was showing the initialization for 4 hours, i thought may be it hanged so i stopped it and disconnected the phone and restarted the update process, same thing happened this time. the progress bar doesnt show any progress after initialization, it showed 100% in initialization after some 4 hours but after tht nothing happened.
i dont knw the problem, it can't be network problem, as i have a 1mbps connection and i checked the speed also before starting the update, i kept the update process as it is for 10 hours, but it still didnt show any progress from the last time.
I installed PC companion and tried accessing the device through PC companion but the phone is not gettting detected in MTP mode (MSC mode working fine). Tried rebooting the system and phone as well still no luck.
I am unable to pair my Z2 phone to pc companion anymore. Steps that lead to this: Â 1. SETUP a working connection to PC (both USB and WIFI) 2. Reset phone to factory settings. 3. Retried to setup the connections 4. Connection via USB works (pc companion recognizes my phone) 5. CANNOT SETUP CONNECTION VIA WIFI Â The PC does not appear anymore under XPERIA CONNECTIVTY > USB CONNECTIVITY (even though it is connected via USB). When I try to setup the WIFI Connection it says that my pc is already paired... but it does NOT appear in the list. Only option I have is Pair with PC.

I bought a new SE Xperia Mini Pro, which gave me the option to upgrade my Android OS to ICS.I have installed Sony Companion, clicked on > Phone software Update > Start
Get the message
"Server not Accessiable" This has been going on for 24 hours.. I'm thinking it maybe my machine that has the problem.
The Sony PC Companion has started showing that an update is available for my xperia pro as soon as i connect it. I happily selected the update option and on the first attempt it downloaded the update which took more than 10 mins in my case. Then it reboots the phone in the flash mode i believe and when it's time to install the update, simply comes out with an error that no update is available for your phone.
I've bought Ray for nearly 5 months. At first, there was no problem when I connected the phone to PC through "Media Transf. mode", I still opened folder Music and DCIM normally but recently,I've been in trouble with it. I can not see any file in the folder Music and DCIM except connecting only by "MSC mode". Just through "MSC mode",I can see all files of music and picture.
