My SI number is 1246-7737 and I want to accept the update with ICS.But it said my software is up to date however then i cannot connect to PCC or US .What the problem it was?
View 3 RepliesI am thinking of updating my xperia ray to the latest build 4.1.B.0.431When I updated my phone to 4.0.3 i rooted it and removed most of the bloatwares. After doing that i didnt face most of the issues reported for 4.0.3 ICS release. Now my question is, If i update my phone to the latest build will it automatically unroot? Do i have to root it again using doomlords method?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI received a message on my XPeria Mini Pro about the 4.1.B.0.587 Update. In fact, I can not install it. When I start the PC Companion software, it finds the connected Phone. Then I click on update. In the following window I click "Accept" and then the software should prepare the PC for the update. But after one second it stops and returns to Start without any comment. When I start Sony Mobile Update Service then it checks for new updates. As soon as the check is over, the program terminates without any comment. Is there a third way to upgrade?
My config:
PC with AMD, Windows 7 64 Bit, 16GB RAM
Are these 2 functions similar or different? repairing the phone only takes 4 minutes and according to pc companion this will replace my current software with new. While update service takes less than an hour and downloads a software that will also replace my current software? which of the two will probably fix the software issue that i'm having regarding SMS reception?

View 4 Replies View RelatedBut from couple of days if I connect my phone to pc with usb cable , PC companion is not detecting the phone when phone is in media transfer mode. Earlier it was perfectly working and I was able to access sd card data from phone and from pc as well at the same time. Also pc companion shows proper details and also shows it is running latest software.Not all is gone, if i connect with media tranfer mode, it doesn't detect anything. If change it to mass storage mode, it is unmounting from phone and showing as "Phone memory".I have tried following in mobile
1) settings-> manage apps -> created MTSapp cache
2) rebooted phone "N" number of time and tried connection.
3) removed data from phone (the message pc companion shows there is more data on phone and it will take time). but didn't work even after deleting my music, pics etc...
In my pc: re-installed everyting pc companion latest version.Nothing worked for media tranfer mode. Even it is not charging battery too when connected to phone.Is there anything left to test SONY device and software?
so i got the notification on the new software update nd it says connet to a pc to recieve it. then u get told to download this pc companion. so i have done. then i notice it says no phone connected. so i click how to connect i then get to stage two and it says connect usb cable to your computer and then to your phone so i do that and nothing happens. i wait 30 seconds and nothing happens i disconect my phone and connect it again and still nothing happens all its doing is charging my phone. i've done it over and over again and nothing happens.

I change my phone to 'mediaoverdracht modus' ( it's in dutch, i don't know the english word ). It's the modus that is required for updating your phone, and it's step 3. But it fails every single time. PC Companion keeps saying it is unable to connect to my PLAY. No errorcode or nothing, it just gives the advice to reconnect my phone to the PC.

Q1] why it is not showing update available when try to update from phone? Is it not fully released/ not compatible/ any bug/error ?
Q2] If i update to Ice Cream Sandwich and if any problem occurs then can i revert back to an old version of android i.e gingerbread.?
The Sony PC Companion has started showing that an update is available for my xperia pro as soon as i connect it. I happily selected the update option and on the first attempt it downloaded the update which took more than 10 mins in my case. Then it reboots the phone in the flash mode i believe and when it's time to install the update, simply comes out with an error that no update is available for your phone.

Recently, the update to the new versin was requested and it failed.After this, I have uninstalled the old version, so now I can't use any version of PC companion .I was trying many times to install the new version using Startme.exe on my phone and the downloaded PC Companion_2.10.027_Web.exe. The result was always the same - the installation was starting by displaying the title page of the new version and then was dying after a few seconds.When I reinstall version 2.02.002, it installs successfully, but before allowing to be used, it demands the update to the latest version, which, of course fails.I was trying to switch off all my firewall before the installation (without any change ).After each installation failure, the system log shows some error in NewUI.dll.
