Apr 3, 2012My previous sony ericsson phone had a PC companion startup screen which included the option 'Connect to Internet'. This new Xperio neo V, when you start PC companion does not offer this, only Support Zone, Contacts Setup, Media Go, Sync Zone and File Manager. What has happened to the 'Internet Connect' option? This was very useful for connecting a PC to the internet.

Dec 15, 2012Sony PC companion is not connecting to internet. Am able to browse internet with all other applications.
I've exewcuted the application as administrator but no use. I've downloaded the latest PC companion but still it's not working. Also I've tried in every way to coonect to internet i.e, by unmounting sd card, mounting sd card, USB debugging etc. PC companion is detecting my phone (XPERIA Neo V) but it is not connecting to internet.
I've updated my JAVA, .NET and entire OS.

Mar 16, 2012I can't install PC companion 2.10.027 on my Windows 7 Ultimate / 64bit system.Until this version was released I was using version 2.02.002 and it was OK. Recently, the update to the new versin was requested and it failed.After this, I have uninstalled the old version, so now I can't use any version of PC companion .I was trying many times to install the new version using Startme.exe on my phone and the downloaded PC Companion_2.10.027_Web.exe. The result was always the same - the installation was starting by displaying the title page of the new version and then was dying after a few seconds.When I reinstall version 2.02.002, it installs successfully, but before allowing to be used, it demands the update to the latest version, which, of course fails.I was trying to switch off all my firewall before the installation (without any change ).After each installation failure, the system log shows some error in NewUI.dll.

Nov 8, 2011During the firmware update process on PC Companion, I deliberately unplugged the phone and my PC now no longer recognizes the phone for performing an update again. Tried installing the firmware, holding the Back key while plugging into the computer etc but still it does not appear as connected. All I can see again and again is a block of color appeared at the bottom of the screen as shown in the photo attached. Have tried a hard reset by holding the left, right and power button at the same time but did not help too.

Sep 1, 2011I decided to update my software on my xperia x10... so i tried to open my pc companion and remembered why i hadnt updated it before ... because the pc companion will not work! so i downloaded the pc companion again and guess what, it doesnt work.It downloads fine and then when i try to run it, it says "you must close all programs and restart your computer before running this program". so i do this and try again and it still says "you must close all programs and restart your computer before running this program".I have spent the last three hours resarting my computer making sure all my programs were shut.

Sep 13, 2011Would anyone be able to assist, since it doesn't seem like you can open a support call directly with SE. I am simply trying to update my Experia X10 software and even though I am connected to the internet (and can browse and download anything from anywhere) I can't use the PC Companion software to update my phone. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it (ver 2.0) and still it fails. It simply says 'unable to install or start phone software update components.'

I've gone through all the steps and phases and the software is telling me it's up to date yet there are no changes to my phone at all except the wiping of all my files that I've backed up. The phone is still on 1.6, I still have only 3 home screens and everything else is the same. I've gone through the update twice now and nothing has changed.

Jan 1, 2011I can't synchronize my X10 (Andoid 2.1) with PC Companion via bluetooth despite being able to synchronoze the same phone with the same software (PC Companion). I start PC Companion and select to connect the phone via bluetooth and following the on-line instruction and manage to pair the phone but recieve an error message almost directly that PC Companion is not able to connect to the phone at this time and I am asked to try again later. According to X10 the pairing is succesful.
I have tried with two different computers with exactly the same result. When I check for software updates both the phone and PC Companion are reported to be of the latest versions. Furthermore, I have another phone, a SE Satio, and I am able to succesfully sync the Satio with the same laptop and the same PC Companion software; this indicates to me that the problem is not with the laptop, bluetooth or PC Companion. It strongly indicates a bug in the X10.

Mar 15, 2011PC Companion will detect my phone and download the updates but the problem is that when it asks me to turn off the phone and reconnect the USB cable (with back button pressed) i then get the PC's 'found new hardwear wizard' come up and ask me about installing new drivers, so i say yes- check online for updates and it then says there is a problem because the drivers may not be for Win XP x64 Pro, so nothing is installed.Meanwhile with PC Companion nothing happens.I have tried this several times to make sure i haven't made any mistakes, the only conclusion i can reach is that PC Companion doesn't work properly with my OS.

Mar 19, 2011I have just updated to the latest PC Companion software and am trying to sync contact and calenda data with Google via the 'Sync Zone'. Contacts sync works fine however the calendar sync caused PC cpmanion to crash every time. It says it is reading the PC (Outlook) data and counter reaches 1024 calendar appointments and crashes every time. Even when I tell it so sync just the calendar and only 1 week either side of now it still counts up to 1024 and crashes.I am using Windows 7 and an Xperia X10i with the lasted SE updates.
