Xperia Pro/Neo/V/L :: Frequent Crashes Following Upgrade To ICS
May 8, 2012
Ever since the upgrade to ICS, a lot of times I am unable to slide to answer the phone. I see multiple touch trackers (white dots) all over the screen. Out of the blue the camera would start, or the gallery would come up. Is the ICS not stable???
I upgraded my xperia ray to 4.0.4 and after that the mobile is getting rebooted on its own frequently. I have tried to repair the phone from PC Companion but still the problem persists. Is there any solution for this.
Since I got my baby back ladt week, I've had some reocurring problems. While in the browser, I find it closes without warning or message, often. Sometimes it even reboots.
Also, i've had several reboots when touching anything in Settings. I've factory reset a couple of times, and will again shortly.
After dutifully submitting crash reports to New York Times for their tablet app, which now crashes for me shortly after starting up on the first scroll in a news article, I finally thought I would give the folks at NYT a call since I'm paying for a subscription to the Times for the content. After being told that the NYT developers actually don't work for the Times (outsourced apparently) the customer support engineer then told me that the problem lies with Motorola Thought you all might be interested in that gem of logical troubleshooting.
I can use the Web browser to access my content, but I did like the convenience of using the application. Today, I'm going to try a dump and reload. And by-the-way, I'm considering downrev'ing at NYT to the android smartphone app, since it appears to run fine with Xoom + Extra Tools, but I'm currently blocked from the content by the licensing for the tablet version over the smartphone version.
I used to face reboots when my X10 was still on 1.6, but I was ok with them since they happened on certain apps and not that frequent. After upgrading to android 2.1, my phone never stops rebooting. The first reboot occurred when I was using Backup and Restore app to restore my contact, SMS .... I have not even downloaded or set up any application. Then the reboot started to happen whenever I turn on my Wifi. Now whenever I am using my phone it reboots, during calls, searching contacts, installing and playing games. I tried re-installing Android 2.1 several times using PC companion and Sony Ericsson Update Service, but no use. Always the first reboot after a fresh install will be when I am restoring my data. I like the phone and was waiting for android 2.1 since September, and this is what I get, a useless phone where I can barely place a call.
After Update my Ray ST18i with ICS (4.0.4), several times a week i get the note to restart cause of missing a SIM Card.My Wife, same mobile, has the same problem. Befor the update everything was fine.
I have an exclamation mark (-!) on each call on my log list, I can't also check my balance I.e *144# isn't responding. What could be the cause of this? My device also looses network frequently...
I've been trying to update my x10 to Android 2.1 I can't get past the stage where I have to turn the phone off and turn it on again with the back button pressed when connecting the usb lead. The phone starts up but the computer freezes up. I have to reset the computer to get it going again. I've tried turning off my anti virius software but this made no difference.
I updated to build 435 yesterday. Since then, the default calendar app force closes (com.android.calendar). I have tried rebooting, doesn't help.I sync my calendar with outlook through google. There are some semi-advanced entries there, ie meetings with replies. However, problem persists when I disable that calendar from my outlook.Calendar data is accessible for my agenda widget. Data shown on the widget is even updated when I add data to my google calendar.
Since I updated the software on my phone, the SMS messaging crashes all the time.
It was pretty slow before, but now it's unusable. I have tried app killer applications and tried deleting messaging history but it just can't seem to handle a simple request.
I love this phone, there's no other phone out there with the same design and shape, but I'm getting seriously fed up as this is not the first problem I've had. I think I will try a different manufacturer next time - SE have let me down.
I did ICS update to Neo V through PC Companion and upgrade went fine. But after that, I am observing crash or hang issue very frequently and even power off also doesn't work in that condition. Only option I left out is to remove battery and put it again so that it will shut down the phone and I will be able to start it and use it. I got to know if you format SD Card and repair your phone through PC Companion, then this problem will be resolved. I have done the same but still m facing this issue but less frequent than previous. And to add to this, I observed that it generally crash when I open GTalk.
I'm trying to pull photos from my phone to PC for editing, storage, etc. Z5 Compact running 5.1.1, and Windows 7 Pro.  Drag-and-drop or copy-paste actions from the DCIM folder to the PC will crash Explorer very reliably : I get a standard 'Windows Explorere has stopped working' message with a restart option. The error details are these :  Problem signature:  Problem Event Name:   BEX64  Application Name:   explorer.exe  Application Version:   6.1.7601.17567  Application Timestamp:   4d672ee4  Fault Module Name:   wzshlx64.dll
I had updated my phone earlier then after it finished updating i then connect to a WiFi then while im browsing/ using internet application it always failed.
I bought a x10 mini pro this week and the same day the phone arrived i updated to 2.1 with SE PC Companion software. I didn´t noticed if this happens to 1.6 duo to the short usage of this droid version.
Every time i starts the camera application or any application that uses the camera (like Google goggles for example), the phone aparently crashes and suddenly reboot. After the reboot, the camera used to work for the first times but about aprox 30 min. or less that the phone has been rebooted, when i try to start the camera, the phone crashes and restarts again.
I´ve tried to Repair the phone in pc Companion software and the issue continues the same.
My Xperia Z2 crashes every 2 weeks and the only way I can fix it is to do an online repair, after crashing it sometimes won't get past the loading screen and if it does no apps work, if I can fix this without buying a new phone that would be great.
When you are trying to take a picture within a whatsapp chat if you use the lateral camera butto it always crash. If you want to take a picture you have to use the light blue button appearing on the screen.
I received my new x10 mini phone a few days ago and am really impressed by it.But...After the phone has been off, the camera works fine the first time I start it.And if I close the camera application and start it again straight away it also works fine. But if I wait for maybe half an hour or more and then open the camera application, the phone reboots itself
I got my Xperia mini pro (SK17i, Android 2.3.4, firmware 4.0.2.A.0.58 after update) a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, trying to activate my Google account during the setup procedure crashed/rebooted the phone twice in a row before I managed to complete the setup. Afterwards I have immediately updated to firmware 4.0.2.A.0.58 but still have experienced the occasional crash about 2-3 times a day.
Usually it happens when doing stuff with the phone. I have read that there is a new firmware update coming our way (4.0.2.A.0.6x) which is supposed to fix some memory management issues. Indeed, the last couple of times I have experienced crashes, the "crash log" in /proc/last_kmsg has shown Unable to handle kernel paging request (+ a nice trace) just before the kernel panicked and rebooted the phone.
This is an error that i noticed the last weeks ago how u can see in the video my smartphone crashed. I have also updated to the latest firmware. Does it happen that the smartphone do too much and just reboot?
Having issues with the Z5 when it comes to opening messages, mine will show opening conversation for 20 seconds before actually opening a message then once i complete the message the phone crashes and i have to close all open apps, phone is one month old and I am beginning to regret the change from an iphone. MMS's always make the phone freeze also.  I was hoping a software update would of fixed this issue but sadly it didnt. Not too keen on a much slower phone than previous phone for a further 23 months as this is the remainder of my contract.
the phone was purchased 4 months ago and regularly freezes and crashes when using it. The software also sometimes will perform the wrong function when an icon or button on the phone is pressed. I have tried updating the software to see if that would help but for the last 2 weeks I have been told that the Update Centre is overloaded and I can't download the new software.
I'll be sending or reading a received text or reading through some old ones, and the messaging service will crash, I'll then open handcent and the same thing will happen. it will come up with the message "the application has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" with options force close or wait, I'll select force close, re-open it and it comes up again.
I am having this problem ever since I got my gs6. tried reinstall usb drivers, other usb ports, reinstall smart switch and resetted my phone was not working at all. I need to backup my phone.
I recently acquired a Torch 9810, originally from Rogers but MEP2 unlocked and running on Fido with a 6GB data plan. It's my first BB, a choice that I made specifically because I was so impressed by my Playbook. There is, however, one thoroughly frustrating problem, which is that it suffers from random reboots. Symptomatically, there is a brief pause, followed by the backlight turning off (I can still see the previous content on the screen sometimes), followed by the red LED and then the BB logo with the loading bar. It looks similar to a soft reset or battery pull. These reboots seem to be completely random: 1) They take place over a wide range of activities, including web browsing, email reading and composing, Facebook, Twitter, built-in apps, even when looking through settings menus.2) The frequency seems to be random too, sometimes I can go for half a day without a reboot, but sometimes the phone will reboot twice in the span of a few minutes.
I tried reloading the stock Rogers 7.0.0.254 OS but this did not solve the problem.Thereafter, I have gone through 3 different 7.1 OS versions, each time using BBSAK to wipe my device to a 507 state. I have tried Telus 7.1.0.267, Mobilicity 7.1.0.378 and even the latest official OS for my phone, Rogers 7.1.0.391. I'm not sure that my apps are contributing to the problem since I have the problem after a wipe, but I have the following installed:BB ProtectBB BridgeBB MapsBB 5 soundsFacebookTwitterWindows LiveMessengerYahoo MessengerGoogle TalkWikitudeWord MoleBrickbreakerGoogle Maps There seems to be plenty of free storage space, over 180MB right now.
I've noticed that I am getting a LOT of drops from 3G to 1X since being on this new software. I hesitated but went ahead and did a wipe/reset and that hasn't helped. I thought maybe it was the area I am in (Las Vegas) but my wife's HTC device is NOT doing it.
"Frequent Locations" states that I was in Beijing, China yesterday but I haven't been to China in 4 years. It's very accurate otherwise, telling me my home, work and favourite cafe among other things. I just noticed this one location in Beijing.
when i visited nokia care shop for display flickering they told me to update version of firmware i followed their advice they got me updated to v 11.57
however display flickering continues to remain headche
