Sep 21, 2011I have been waiting for this update for some time now, and I am sure there are plenty of other people that have been. I personally love my droid 2, but I am something of a IT guru, and have worked out all the bugs for myself and my friends... took me 3 SBF's to do it as I broke a feature or 2 my phone a few times in the process until I fully grasped exactly what kind of structure that android runs on... You should really consider allowing the tech junkies to download it with a big warning that things are still in process of being fixed. I am sure that anyone that goes digging this far for the update will understand the risks, and be glad to help give debugging and q/a support to the team. Android is an open source based system, and as such the community that uses it is on the whole a tad more savvy than that of other systems. Just open up a thread where we can all come and check in with issues, and workarounds and sticky it so everyone can find it easily.

Dec 17, 2011I can no longer download the "additional data" most games force you to download to play them. You buy the game, that downloads the initial data to download the rest of the game etc...I get that far and then I got to the app and it asks "The game needs to download an additional (insert amount here) of data. Would you like to do that now?" I press yes and it starts downloading. Each game gets to about 7 percent, then it say "There was an error would you like to restart the download?" It keeps doing that over and over again, there is nothing I can do to get around it. Note that I've downloaded a few games now without issues, a few of the new games I just purchased are from the same developer. However getting tired of it i decided maybe its just the wifi and now i'm doing it through 3G...so far its gotten half way, but being 3G its slower and I don't want to be forced to use this everytime i buy a game...I have about 4 new games i can't download the data too through wifi and can't return because the time frame is up....

Aug 26, 2011I just got the Xperia Play and I'm try to play the preploaded games like Ashpalt 6 or Crash Bandicoot. I have to download content to play them but every time I get a error message after it tries to dowload for a few minutes and the yellow status bar goes up a little bit. I've down a settings and factory restore and get the error message every time. While its download my phone will go to sleep and wont respond when hitting the home button. Do I need a new phone?

Given the arrogance you (Sony Mobile) are showing towards your customers I am gonna assume you are still not going to listen to your users, and you are not going to reply to this thread, you may even delete it to avoid unnecessary attention to the subject.
After the V2 upgrade taking so long, and still no manual exposure, I find it highly unlikely we will ever get manual exposure settings on the Sony Xperia series. I will sell my Xperia Z5 premium and get myself an LG G4.

Jul 3, 2010The Superior Auto/Manual camera app is not loading, and becomes unresponsive. Here's a screen shot when opening the camera app:
Diagnostic reports the camera as fine, is able to take photos with flash. Other modes such as 'Background Defocus' etc are running fine, as is instagram etc. I tried switching from 'Defocus Background' to Superior Auto/Manual/4k Video etc and the app becomes unresponsive again as above.
I've cleared app data and caches for the 'Camera' and 'Cameras' in app settings. Tested in Safe Mode, and have just done a factory rest of my Z2 which has not resolved the issue.

Jul 3, 2010I'm positive this has been brought up before, the camera button is only able to load up in auto superior mode which is great for basic quick camera needs but for users who want to use the camera to its full potential (20.7 MP) you need to shoot in manual mode. It seems like a simple addition to the camera which would allow everyone to use the camera app how they prefer. Is there a fix coming for this, is there a setting I'm missing? Seems silly to put a good camera in a phone and have it so inaccessible.
