I brought blackberry torch last year in Nov and is still in warranty period. Few days back, my bb started rebooting on its own. The reboot would start, halt in between and again restart. This means that fone is unable to restart completely. I tried connecting it to PC and do a virus scan but since the phone did not reboot completely, virus scan was not possible. By no other means am I able to start the phone.
View 1 RepliesMy Torch recently started restarting every minute or so. It turns off and then shows the restart screen with the load bar at the bottom. The bar loads all the way, the phone turns on, and all of the security tests pass and it seems fine for about one minute, then repeats the process. I have not installed any new apps recently.
Fixes that I tried that did not work: Update the device software via Blackberry Desktop Manager (which I believe completely reinstall software) and Manual battery pull (with subsequent restart).

After updateing rebooted as was needed, and now my phone keeps on rebooting. When restart gets to about 75% my screen turns all white and it starts all over again. Have tried a batterypull, dont know what else to do.
I have a Torch 9810 with the OS 7. Outside of the apps that were preinstalled with the phone, the only apps I have added are gmail and yahoo mail. I have 201.9 MB of free space in app storage, 6.2GB free in total media storage, and 3.2 gb free on my media card.
The device restarts on its own. Started off gradually, maybe once a day. And it would do it then, after sitting idle for a while and I pick it up, sliding out the keyboard would trigger a reboot. Then it would do that 2-3 times a day. I was thinking it had a defect in the slide out qwerty. Now it does it more frequently and has started doing it in the middle of calls. It has rebooted 3 times already this morning within an hour. One time without me even touching it, I just happen to see the screen come back on as it was booting up.

It have only had the phone for 1 day and it has restarted about 10 times so far.It always happens when I go in to Maps but it also restarts when it is just in the screensaver sitting on my desk.I have tried a hard reset but it is still the same.Should I send this phone back or should I just wait a while to see if a firmware/software update fixes it?If I have to send it back so soon I will be really cheesed off.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy friend broke its os and gave it to me because he didn't need it, i put insertcoin on it and rooted it. Every like 1-3 seconds it reboots after being shut off, it reboots then goes to the lock screen and i can use the phone for about a second then it restarts. Im thinking it may be an app/apk i installed but i don't know, it was like this before i restarted it. and its happened 4 times before, 3 of which i just reinstalled the os and wiped the phone and the last time it fixed its self. this time its been going on for 30min and it wont seem to fix itself.

It started when I went to restore my phone cause i saw for some odd reason i had over 2gb of memory being waisted by "other" what ever makes that up, anyways so after i restored it I told it to restore from back up ever since then it keeps restarting.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got an e63 and for the most part, it's a great phone and I love it. However, when I am at home.. it constantly freezes while I compose a text and then restarts. That, or it just restarts over and over while I am not even touching it.I keep trying to hard reset it.. so I type in that code and it says "requesting..." and then says "request not complete".It's weird because the ONLY time it acts this way.. is when I'm at home.. any other place, it's perfectly fine. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how did you fix it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried a lot of methods to solve this problem (restart, reflash, hard and soft reset, run it without memory card, put papers near the battery, changed some settings..) - anything doesn't work for me. I know that on net are a lot of topics like this one, but i think i tried all recommended solutions to solve it.. I updated my 5800XM to v50 firmware, after it was done, i started it and i enjoyed the KS, music player etc.. But after a while (like 3-4mins) my phone restarts (restart without needed to insert PIN code). I said, it's ok. But now it restarts every 3-4 mins. I found the solution - when the screen is not lighting (sleeping), it wouldn't restart. But i need to work with it, so this is useless.. Any help please?

So after many trials I make 4-key phone memory format so the phone restart and I was too much happy but I lost the contacts as it is stored in the phone memory in addition to all my exchange email and nokia email, so I was having back up so I connect it to PC Suit and I restore the contacts from my nokia back but after finishing it was asking for restart and the crises happened again and same previous, stopping at nokia screen then restart restart restart.So again I make phone memory and I using synchronization between my mobile and outlook to return my contacts and I don't know what will happened if I restart my phone.
I don't know what to do as my phone warranty is one year and nokia care will not accept to check it and I don't think that there is qualified shop can repair such this type of problems.IM too much disappointed from nokia and I feel that these type of mobiles designed to work for one year only and if you ask help from nokia care after one year they will not accept.

Even then it keeps restarting all the time. I am a regular Nokia Mobile phone user for many years with varieties of Nokia Phones, but this phone really made me desperate. When I goto the salesman, he asked me to goto service centre. And it started eating lot of my time running behing this problem between service centre and shop. Service centre says they can't do anything on this restart problem. I paid almost 8000 Indian rupees for this phone. Local chinese mobiles abailable in market are found more reliable atleast for the first fre years.

Battery life started diminshing faster from that day on, and now it barely stays on for a few minutes.Now i wanted to know, is it a battery thing, or could the charging hole could be damaged? Also, how do you move the trackpad from one housing to another? it seems to be built straight into the keyboard, but on the one i bought doesnt have on.
