Sony Ericsson :: How To Check For Latest Software On Phone?
Oct 28, 2010
I just would like to know: How can I possibly know if I have the latest software on my phone? Also, can anyone teach me how to read this on the phone (this is for the software version):
1225-2477
R1HA035
091210
SonyEricsson
Would you be advising me to get an update?
Haven't really been keeping abreast with SE releases and whatnot, so just asking here really: what is the latest SE camera phone? Is it still the Satio? Also, are there any upcoming released within the next couple of months? Phones for professionals.
Can anyone help please I downloaded the latest update for my W995 handset about 2 weeks ago and now have a load of problems, it will now not access the Internet. Says "Communication error. Please try again or turn off WiFi or contact support provider" the Wifi is def turned off - Orange have tried to fix it by sending me new settings and then turning off phone etc though not worked. It will also not now send emails and cannot locate any phone update via the handset from Sony
i have just got my vivaz pro and i am looking for buttons to touch where i can check the remaining battery level of the phone. is there such function for this phone?
I have updated my phones' software using the "update service" and it tells me that my phone has got the latest software (R2CA023). I have read on some blogs that R2CA026 has been released in some regions. Is there a way that I can update to the latest software?
I updated the W995 firmware yesterday using SEUS. After update firmware is R1HA035. But according to the forums on this site the latest is R1HA036. Why didn't I get the latest? Also after update I turned my phone on and I got the long please wait message. During this message I got a pop up message for Daylight savings update and I selected yes then back to the please wait message. Then phone started normal. Did the pop message effect the firmware installation and shall I reinstall firmware or is everything ok?

- All 3D games have a big RAM problem.
I've tested ICS with factory settings and cleaned SD card. Also wiped all data. Same problems appeared.I've also Class 10 SD card. All of these problems fixing when i use Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.
Today I applied the latest software update for the Sony Ericsson Elm. Now I have the problem that my widgets don't appear in stand-by mode. Is there a way to fix this issue?
I got a new Elm (T-Mobile Germany branded) some days ago and after trying all functions (no problems found), I had it updated to the latest firmware R7CA061 with SEUS. (I've found some threads concerning Elm and GPS-problems in this forum, but they weren't connected to R7CA061). After the update, GPS does not work properly any more, or in other words: it does not really work at all! Neither Assisted GPS (I only tried A-GPS using WIFI) nor unassisted GPS does work. I do not get a lock on my location with Google Maps, also after waiting for more than 10 minutes.
My GPS-position is "jumping around" on the map about one kilometer around my actual position. It's completely inaccurate! I have the feeling that it's even getting worse after some minutes. I also tried the GPS test in the service menu: doesn't work! Switched GPS off and on again: doesn't work! Tried AGPS and GPS: doesn't work! Completely shut down and switch the Elm on again: doesn't work. After reinstalling the latest firmare using SEUS once again - GPS works (assisted and unassisted) and also the GPS test from the service menu works properly. But then, after some minutes, GPS seems to fade away again somehow.
i have installed the latest update for the vivaz (i live in uk). on my phone it says the version is 1124-4699_r2ea021. software version date - 22/07/10. but on the sony ericsson site for updates it has a date of 27/08/2010 for latest update. on the info for the latest update on the site it says: get the latest software with new facebook™ panel and performance improvements when multitasking. update your phone software to get optimal performance and the latest enhancements.
the latest software includes new features and improvements such as: - new facebook™ and roadsync™ panels on the standby screen. - improvements in phone start up time. - enhanced performance and functionality for Internet™, facebook™, and roadsync™. - stability improvement in the areas of w-lan, mms and internet. - additional desktop themes. - support for up to 32gb microsd memory cards.
but i don't seem to have any of them. i certainly haven't noticed any update with facebook. were it says new facebook panel on the standby screen is that for the sony ericsson standby screen? if it is i don't have that either all i have on this screen is twitter not facebook, how do i do get the facebook panel on it? any ideas why my update version on my phone says a different date compared to what it has on the sony ericsson site but when i plug phone to computer to update it says i have the latest software?
Has anyone else noticed this?, I've tried various music (encoded at different rates which sound fantastic on other audio equipment) and different headphones (via both sockets on the phone). My mate who is in a band and heavily into audiophile stuff agrees that the sound quality is terrible. My old w810i is far better. The top end is to harsh but without any definition and whenever I use one of the EQ settings the music seems to get muddied up and even slightly louder and quieter in sections. I am wondering if this either a bad phone or something to do with the firmware that O2 (UK) uses (I know they alter it as google maps and wayfinder aren't installed). I have used the update service which states I am running the latest firmware. The phone is going back but if the next one is the same then I may have to move phones.
I was installing the latest software update on my new Satio tonight and didn't realise I had insufficient battery charge until midway through the update. The phone crashed before finishing the update and now doesn't seem to take a charge, I have taken out the battery, SIM card and memory card and put them all back in, and had the phone connected to the charger for over an hour, but I have no indication from the phone that it is charging and it won't boot up. I tried running the update again but it failed again as well.
I'm trying to download a new software update for my W760a, because it tells me it cannot add anymore contacts and I can't recieve or send texts/ phone calls. When I try to go to the software updates on the W760a hompepage, it loads a blank page. It just says on the tab "Sony Ericsson Support Phones Topic Updateserviceapplication W760a", and loads a blank page. Please help me with this problem as I wish to continue using my new phone.
I'm looking for a new phone, preferably a Sony Ericsson. What's important to me is that I can use the WLAN at university and I can't find any information about that on the Internet. Can anybody tell me about SE solutions? Another aspect that matters to me is the camera, it does not need to replace a normal camera, but the photos should be of a certain quality. I'm quite satisfied with my k800i on this point, but the resolution could be a bit higher.
spilled water on my phone, have left it in a bag of rice which I've heard will dry it out but still not working. Obviously this is not covered by the guarantee.
The camera froze today, and stupidly I pressed all the buttons randomly to see if it would unfreeze. I took the battery out and then recharged it.I got the message that it was fully recharged, unplugged the charger, got the Sony logo and then a "Goodbye" message.
I've had a c905 for 18 months, contract runs out next month and have always had SE phones. I do not like touch screen phones and I don't see anything that's replacing the c905, is there a release date or anything similar to the c905 within the next 6 months?
I thought I may start an Elm/Hazel thread for discussion as it seems many of you have one of the two phones now. I wanted to do this to discuss any problems with things like firmware & issues & other stuff rather than discussing this in the picture thread. I think the fone fell, cause it was dusty or maybe its because it was charged using the USB cable. What can be the possible cause of the phone not to turn ON?
As the title implies, I need to ask if there are varying kinds of Sony Ericsson LCD screens for the G705 or if there are variations in models made. Nearly 6 months ago I bought a Sony Ericsson G705 phone off eBay that only needed a new LCD screen. Well I purchased a screen off eBaand was good to go except for a few minor issues... 1.) The LCD screen had a thicker screen/border than the original so I had to mod it by taking off the white border around it. 2.) The ribbon that connects the LCD screen to the G705's keypad wasn't aligned correctly causing it to disconnect from the keypad every so often. This too I had to fix by sticking some paper underneath where the connector sits. It worked after the modifications but the end result is the keypad was raised causing issues where pushing the up key would force it to push the left key too. Unfortunately after awhile the screen stopped working likely due to the fact the different layers were separating. I gave in and bought a new screen from an online dealer elsewhere just to get scammed in the end with a broken LCD screen which they refused to replace claiming I cracked it. So now I've purchased a new screen of eBay yet this one has issues too, it's thinner than the first one I got, but has the same problem where the ribbon doesn't appear to be aligned correctly either. This time however, I get some ugly dead pixels in the lower left corner of the screen and the rest is completely jumbled with white lines going through it. I've already contacted the seller for an exchange and am about to lose all hope getting this phone working. Anyway, back to the topic. Do the screens in the G705 vary from region to region or between versions? When I got it I found the phone was from Hong Kong (firmware was HK anyway.) though the manual and included paperwork suggested it was from France. The screens I have purchased seemed to have varying differences between either the thickness is too wide, the ribbon doesn't fit the correct position, or some other incompatibility. I bought this phone.
