I've had a c905 for 18 months, contract runs out next month and have always had SE phones. I do not like touch screen phones and I don't see anything that's replacing the c905, is there a release date or anything similar to the c905 within the next 6 months?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am struggling to find a new phone to replace my C902 so I need some suggestions or ill end up having another C902! My criteria:
Must have buttons - I don't mind an element of touch screen but it has to have buttons to text with
Not Smart phone - I use my phone as a phone, not a portable media device to have no use for all the extra features. My main uses are calling, texting and taking photos so I want a decent camera, minimum of 5mp.
I prefer the candy bar style which rules out a lot of phones so I am prepared to be flexible with that. From what I can see there is the Elm coming out but that seems to be a very slightly updated version of the C902, theres the Aino but from reading reviews people haven't been overly impressed with its photo capabilities. So has anyone got any other suggestions for me? I've always had SE but am considering moving to the dark side to find a phone I like/want. Doesn't necessarily have to be brand new either, im even considering looking at the C905.
This is my first post, and y hope this hasn't been answered yet, because i've tried to find the solution but it was impossible.I own a C905 and a Xperia x10 mini. I enjoy the x10 mini but the C905's camera is with difference the best, so i'd like to know if there is a way of turning on the phone and use it as a camera and music player but without simcard, so that i can take it when i go somewhere and i want to take some pics.Let's say i have 2 phones and i'd like to have both at the same time.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI own a C905 which I have had for just over 16 months and I have found it to be an excellent phone however me being a gadget person I need more mainly in the photography department 8.1 just isn't enough. I am looking to find out some information as to why there has been no replacement for the C905, I have my upgrade in a few months and I am beginning to get worried as I am far from comfortable using a touchscreen. A simple re-design of the c905 with the 12mp camera would be fine, something a bit slimmer maybe even if it was a replacement for the Aino which I had been looking at as I own a ps3 and would use remote play a great deal so was willing to sacrifice the added camera quality, but as fate would have it after deciding to upgrade to it my service provider informed me that they no longer stock the Aino. With my upgrade approaching and no sign of a phone to meet requirements in production as of yet I am not sure what to do so really any help or advise would be nice as i am a dedicated sony ericsson fan and really don't want to have to look elsewhere.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI notice a flashing red light on the side of phone. I put the phone on charge seemed to be charging ok approx 5 hours later took it off charge. I used phone and noticed the battery indicator showing 1 red bar the phone bleeped low battery and turned off. I've done all normal trouble shooting tips still the same. I've bought original Sony Ericsson charger and battery that hasn't worked either.

My other question, is it possible to hack this phone to use the radio without an antenna? I did it with my old w580i, but that was some time ago and things have changed since.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSymptoms: Phone wont charge. right off the box. Says "Battery cannot be charged, please use a Sony Ericsson Battery". It is a Sony Ericsson battery. It is a Sony Ericsson charger. Everything came out of the box.
I just opened it, and first thing I did was plug it into the wall. Now, I have installed the update service, tells me phone is up to date (downloaded straight from sonyericsson.com). I have installed Phone suite 6.01; tried a repair phone, aborts with an error when it comes to the update service (right after the remove batery, press C while connecting phone part). Also same thing with car charger.
When I use the videocam on my c905, it automatically stops at about 40 sec. Is there a way to make it not stop until I want it to?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got the phone about a week ago , GPS didn't work since i got it . I installed the newest software R1FA035 ,and the result was. When i enter the current status: after around 3 or 5 m. it finds around 3 or 4 satellites and they are located on the top of the screen 2 right and 2 left , they are outside the circle. before updating it could find 1 or 2 max. at same locations , but the new soft finds 4 and faster the old soft was R1FA035 too so it is always searching and never connected. When i use A-GPS " Internet " it locates my town on google maps and then wait for GPS signal , which doesn't connect like i said is it a software problem ? or hardware ? or regional " i'm from Egypt?hope you can help me , cause i can ask to change the phone this week " 14 days from buying "This Message was edited by: George0Isk on 2010-05-19 23:09 ]
View 7 Replies View RelatedSlight technical problem with my C905 . Having updated the phones firmware to R1FA035, it has developed some connectivity issues. Firstly, when I now connect the USB cable, the mode menu pops up, but then disappears and the phone does not connect in any way. In addition, I cannot turn on USB charging in the service settings, just says 'charging off' every time. Also when I connect the phone using the 'C' button to boot, it just boots into mass storage mode.windows does not even pick up any hardware connected. Tried a number of cables on 3 different computers. I have tried doing a master reset but no luck. I cant update the phones software to try fix the problem, as USB does not connect. I tried phoning SE, but they just told me to send it off for a fee...and no guaranteed results.

I use the phone and take a call as normal. Next day someone rings me, they can NOT hear me but I can hear them. I then discover the microphone is only live when in loud speaker mode, it is not a faulty mic as I can speak using it on speakerphone and make recordings.
I have done factory reset, had it to a repair guy who reinstalled all the software and replaced the 'ribbon cable' but the problem remains. Is there a secret 'mute' button that I have missed, is this a button/switch fault, we are totally perplexed.
Can any one help me to what to do for my c905 camera because its stop at working by it self by showing a message " press 0 for help " sp what should i do?

View 2 Replies View Relatedso what happened was, I got my phone in the mail, I use it for a few hours with occasional texting and my friend calls me, and when I answer, the phone dies. I turn the phone on again to see the battery is dead and it dies again, and before it had 85% battery life left apparently. Now the phone is completely dead, when the charger is plugged in, the red light is on and solid (not flashing or anything), when it is plugged in the computer it is on and solid again, except the computer doesn't see its plugged in.

When I go to Wayfinder - Plan rout - A - My Position: I get this error message as" GPS receiver does not receive signals. Please make sure that nothing is blocking the GPS signal (e.g. a roof, building, etc) and try again. I have tried it out even on ground. But is is not functioning. All my other friends can Use GPS from this place from their NOKIA cell, so that means to say that GPS is accessible in the place where I am. Why cant I use GPS.

As far as I know the best way to do it is using SE PC Suite (if there is any other simpler ways of doing that please let me know as well) I downloaded latest PC Suite from SE website. Everything is goes well till it starts pairing up C905 and computer. Computer can see the phone, so does the phone, I can establish bluetooth connection from PC own software. But not through PC suite. After I am filling in passcode on the phone, few moments later, there is warning message, that pairing failed. I reinstalled PC Suite few times and it doesn't work. Do I need any specific drivers, for bluetooth to install on my comp? I am using Vista pro.

My C905 shows up on my local wireless network, however when I try to browse it from my Windows machine, it asks for a username and password. I can't see anywhere on the phone to change this setting.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI see a lot of difference in the pics taken with K850 and C905 even if its the same one. I know its a 8MP in C905.but is there any other difference, i mean in the lens quality, the hardware etc Bcos recently i checked the pics taken with a modded C905, its just as from an SLR. The problem with K850 (for me) is that, when i take pics of distant objects in daylight (say 10meters) the camera fails to produce the detail..But this not the case with C905, i can see the image more clearly. also the longer the subject is the colors are not correct.("purple edges" on small objects with sky as background). But these all are gone with C905 pics. So my point is Is C905 having a better camera H/W ? or is it the software? and lastly is there any modded K850 cam driver which can take pica like c905'say be my knowledge is little regarding this issue

Which happened to other day so I ordered a new LCD display off Ebay. It came today and I re-fitted it but it is still like this which tells me this is not a hardware problem.
