Samsung :: SPH-M800 Ringtone Feature Or MP3 Player
Jan 27, 2010I'm unable to use either the ringtone feature or the MP3 player on this phone, Telus has some sort of lock on it, software I imagine. Is their anyway around this?

Apr 27, 2010After about an hour of searching I think I finally Found the right USB drivers, and I haven't tried it yet but from past experience. Anyway I am assuming That I could use PC Studio to connect it to my PC, What else do I need to know, any advice would help out. Its on sprints network right now.

May 13, 2010I bought an Instinct M800 from Ebay and it came with a "user locked password" and the seller doesn't seem to remember what it is. The MEID is clean so I don't believe it to be stolen. My problem is, how do I remove the password? I've tried for hours entering random 4 digit passwords and nothing so far. I ended up buying a data cable for the phone but I can't seem to get the phone to load/connect with Vista, be it a driver issue, or because the phone is locked.

Jun 22, 2010I have been using google and this forum's seach feature to try to get the answer to my question, but I've read different things and ended up confused.First of all, I have unlocked my Spring Samsung and uploaded the 01040 Cricket PRL and it seems to be working because when I dial 611 I get a message from Cricket. Over the air programming doesn't seem to work when dialing *228, and from reading threads I am guessing I will have to do it manually.I am confused as to at what step do I call Cricket Customer service to get some info I need. Jun 28, 2010I am assisting a good friend of mine with flashing his Instinct to Metro. His Instinct went down and he bought another on ebay. I am trying to save him a few dollars as he has a lot on his plate with his mortgage and all. I owned an Instinct at one time so I am familiar with the "debug menu" etc. I am also pretty tech savvy and am always tweaking my devices...however have never flashed a phone. Jul 16, 2010Is there a way to program a shortcut or widget for the Record Audio feature in the Samsung Solstice? I have tried to no avail to find a way to do this. I want to take advantage of the feature, but as it is, I have to click menu, tools, record audio just to get started. Ideally I would love to have it available in the multi task button but I'm not hopeful this is possible.

Mar 10, 2010I've tried Samsung PC Studio 7 with no luck - it will not recognize my phone. Have changed USB phone settings to Modem as I read in a thread somewhere, still no luck.
I don't have texting, don't use internet on the phone, so I can't email them to the phone.
I was able to transfer mp3's via. the USB cable & sync with Windows Media player, that works great, but I can't get them to set as a ringtone...
Is the only "free" way to put ringtones on this phone is to use a SD card? If so, how is that accomplished?

Apr 1, 2010Just got the Samsung Corby Pro through Rogers- tried to use a home-made recording mp3 as a ringtone. The mp3 loaded and plays fine in the phone but when I tried to set it as a ringtone- the message "unsupported file type" comes up.
The other ringtones that the phone comes with are all mp3 as well- just wondering what I need to do to turn my own mp3 into the "supported" file type for ringtone use.

Apr 10, 2010i decided to go Cricket and got this Samsun U340. I downloaded one ringtone fine but now it keeps saying i already downloaded the others i tried to grab. I tried multi sites so it has to be the phone. It says i can replace it or cancel but only thing it shows/can do is hit cancel. I know this phone is not super great but until i get another i am stuck with it. I like to put a few decent tones and a couple wallpapers and would be happy.The wallpaper problem is it shows the image only. There is no option to save it in web browser or gmail email. I tried email with attachment and a hyperlink. I went in menu to see if i can save it but nothing. I used cell phones for about 5 years with non prepaid services. This is the first prepaid i used and wow it is sure limited. If anyone can help me and used this cell and got it to work would be great.

All levels are set to their highest but when I have incoming calls or texts, the ringtones and alerts are barely even audible. I've talked with a Samsung tech person and they couldn't help. I bought one the day before yesterday and it had this problem. When we called they told us it was just a faulty phone and to replace it. So, we did but, we have the Same problem with the new one.

May 14, 2010Hello! I am new to this thread and the freeform phone (which I love by the way!) I am currently having issues with my Music Library. Being that I was so spoiled by my ipod there are a few things that are bothering me about the Music Player.
1. My songs are not in alphabetical order.
2. Song information that is in the file is missing (Artist Name & Album)
3. Shuffle does not change. The songs are shuffled only once and stay in that order indefinably.
Can anyone offer any kind of advice or point me in the right direction to solve this issue. and which method best works for adding music. I currently do the Drag and Drop from Itunes to my music folder on my card and I use the sync feature on Windows Media Player (SOMETIMES BECAUSE WMP IS NO AS EASY TO NAVIGATE AND FIND THINGS AS ITUNES

But I have read the reviews of this phone that say it has good sound for a small phone and 2GB of memory which is much more than my MP3 player. Is there any way to download MP3 files, transfer them to the phone via data cable, and listen to them on the phone? Or in order to listen to MP3 files do I have to have it active with a carrier?
