i have recently bought a 5230 and i bought some music through ovi player thinking i could use it as a ringtone! ( support said i could because it came in a mp3 format ) well when i set it as ringtone it says its protected??? how can i change this or how can i view it to find out if it is ringtone compatable? or is this just a money grabber making people believe they can use it as a ringtone?
View 3 RepliesWhen the N900 came out in the UK I bought it on the same day! But I'm disappointed with the fact that the N900 is still not compatible with Ovi player. This is even so after the recent firmware update! Overall it seems that the N900 was rushed into the market. Sadly, some of the reviews claiming that the N900 would be known as the "iphone eater" was very wrong! I did manage to copy music to my N900 in mass storage mode but it wasn't a very smooth experience.Come on Nokia get your act together and give the music lovers out there something to cheer about by getting the basic's right! BTW if I have the fact's wrong re compatibility with Nokia Ovi Player please let me know?

View 1 Replies View Relatedi am using Nokia N97 Mini mobile. whn i try to connect my Wifi connection at University. it says unable to connect.when i try to add a new access point from Settings>Connectivity>Destinations>New Access Point.it checks for new connection and found the Wifi Router... but whn i select to add it in my list. i get Error message... " Unable to edit protected Network".though the Wifi router is set to Open Network and its public.... still i cannot access it... whereas everyone else is enjoying the connection....

Why cant I connect to a protected WLAN? I search for WLAN, then found one, I connect to it, then they asked for WEP key, then i entered a CORRECT WEP key then press ok..then nothing happens .I try to press back and I cant do it..I just can press exit from options..
View 11 Replies View RelatedMy Nokia 5800 can't establish connection with WPA-protected home Ad-Hoc network.
I created such network based on my laptop wireless adapter and configured a WPA2-encryption for it. Then I found this network available via Nokia 5800 wlan-menu and tried to connect - this caused an error "System failure: function is not supported". So that Nokia smartphones support only open and wep-encrypted Ad-Hoc networks. WPA/WPA2 is enabled only for infrastructure mode. (But my laptop wireless adapter only supports managed mode, ad-hoc and monitor mode, so I can use only ad-hoc mode to set up home access-point. And I am sure I should use only WPA encryption for it, because WEP is vulnerable)
Maybe I can edit some configuration file in my Nokia device to enable WPA-encryption for Ad-Hoc?
If Nokia can enable this function in later versions of firmware?
I also will be very grateful if you recommend some symbian-applications which can enlarge wlan-functionality in my phone.

Like always, on previous Symbian phones I have locked my memory cards with passwords and if you were to insert that locked card into another Symbian phone, it would immediately ask you to enter the password. I did so with my old phone (Nokia C7) and now after inserting that locked card in the 808, nothing comes up.. it doesn't ask for a password input. I am now stuck with a 16 gigs locked micro SD card to which I know the password but I can't unlock it! I know for sure that password protected cards will not show up on computers and it doesn't show up on my gf's Android either. I have been to a Nokia care shop and they have tried with other Nokia phones but nothing worked. They suggested using the phone it was locked with but that's not a possibility because it was broken into pieces and sent to Finland
What else can I try to be able to unlock/input my password into this SD card?
Purchase Nokia 500 on 30/10/11... and same day i have facing problem. In email attachment password protected file not opened.

The files where these show up are the ringtones which are in .mid file on the 3205i and the wallpaper image that are in PNG format, not sure how I got them on there I think I downloaded them off the internet from my phone...

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Volvo V50 with an installed car kit by the previous owner (presumable around mid 2007 if relevant). As my Nokia 6210 just broke, I'd like to replace it by a phone that best fits with the carkit. THe kit seems to be the CK-7W as is have the remote button as with the CK-7W. The phone holder is the CR56. What confuses me is that there is a fixed (standard) cable connection at the bottom of the phoneholder and also a separate micro USB now hanging just out of the dashboard, near the left side of the phone holder. As if it should be connected to the Nokia phone on the left side. With the kit there is a wired microphone and an external loudspeaker.
