Why cant I connect to a protected WLAN? I search for WLAN, then found one, I connect to it, then they asked for WEP key, then i entered a CORRECT WEP key then press ok..then nothing happens .I try to press back and I cant do it..I just can press exit from options..
View 11 RepliesI purchased what I thought was the North American E72 in Topaz Brown, but what I found out from the software later was that it was an E72-1. I cannot seem to connect to the Internet via WLAN. Does this version of the E72 come with Wifi at all?And also, does anyone know whether the Topaz Brown colour comes with an English keypad (North American), without the Chinese symbol strokes on the keys? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One second I could go to a webpage and then the next it would say WLAN not found. Keep in mind this was literally 10cm from the wireless router.Now at work I tried connecting to the WLAN after following a very comprehensive guide put together by our IT department with all the required details. I also downloaded the required certificate and opened it (selecting all 3 of the options that come up, whatever they were).Another person at work has the E65 and they connected fine. I have attached the settings I used in case you can spot something wrong.

My AP uses static IP address, and it is setup correct also the phone, but when I want to connect to internet by native browser, system shows error(translated to English) "invalid server name", it shows in others applications too but there was different errors names depending on application. I can only get access to my router, access point and devices connected to internal network(behind router like PC's, laptops or others), in public places like schools or government institutions I don't have troubles with connecting to internet. Error is occurred only in my and some of my friends private networks. I am sure that's my phone is setup correct, because in this same configuration laptop is working. Why I can't connect with external network?

View 11 Replies View RelatedI've E72 for few weeks. In general,I'm satisfied with what I get. A major exception is a strange resets I've almost allways during browsing over WiFi. Browser isn't an issue,it happens with both Nokia browser and Opera. It doesn't happen when I connect with mobile provider GSM. When I run email client over WiFi it works perfectly,well except it restarted once or twice when tried to handle large html messages with big attachments.
Phone OS / firmware is a last version.
I have just updated to Nokia Belle and I am having a few issues with Nokia Store (as are a number of other people by the looks of it).
Although I have correctly set up my access points (the update wiped them) and have selected my wifi as the access point with the highest priority, Nokia Store is refusing to connect via WLAN and is giving the warning "mobile data off - no connections made" (this is with mobile data turned off and Wifi on), clearly there is something that is preventing the app using this access point and is sticking to Mobile data only. I have re-installed the program to no avail.
I can still access Nokia Store via my O2 wap access point (priority 2) however as some of the apps I will need to reinstall are quite large I want to do this via Wifi.My browser works correctly through Wifi as does Ovi music. I have tried setting the browser to ask which access point I want to use, however to no avail.Out of interest the other programs that I have noticed do not work like Nokia Store (Mobile data turned off and Wifi turned on) are Shazaam and Weather. Not sure if there is a link.
Models having the problem: Nokia E71, E72 Basically, Ovi Store keeps on Loading for sometime then gives me an error of "Unable to connect to Server". This only happens whenever i choose a WLAN connection. However it works fine on packet data connection.I was able to resolve this on my E71 with a workaround, by editing the access point information, and changing the data carrier of my WLAN to Packet data so my phone sees my WLAN as a packet data connection. I tried doing the same on my E72, but it didnt allow me to change the data carrier field.This problem prevents me from enjoying Ovi Store, because Packet data connectivity is more expensive than WLAN here in Saudi Arabia.it seems that many are experiencing the same problem and Many are suggesting to reset and format the phone or re-installing ovi store, but I will not be doing trial and error on my phone which can result in losing valuable data.it seems that Nokia has not provided a cure for this, and I am seriously looking into leaving Nokia for good, till they come up with more reliable and creative phones and services.It seems that Competition has blinded nokia about Quality which me and many others are missing lately.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOk so here is the deal, I'm using up-to-date(v. 20.0.080) nokia 5530 and today while I was using TuneWiki my WLAN got disconnected. So I tried to reconnect and found my wifi option completely gone. Now I can't even try to connect to WLAN, as if wifi option was disabled or erased. I already tried restarting the phone, resetting phone to original settings, removing battery for a while. I don't know what to do, so if someone dealt with similar problem please help or at least advice me what should I do next.

Testing the new BB 9300 I placed my sim card into the phone. To my surprise my call history appeared on my new phone...to my even bigger surprise when I got home it connected to my home WIFI automatically even though it is Password protected. How this sort of information is getting transferred, I don't think it is my sim and I am slightly concerned it is getting stored on the BES server.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia E63 mobile set. Recently, I updated its firmware with Nokia OVI Suite to 500.21.009. After update, it seems to work fine but when I tried to connect to my wireless router, it says "Connection Not Avaible" but the icon for wlan stays near the battery indicator icon. When I try to connect again, it says "Wlan connection already active, close it and try again". And when I try to disconnect with wlan, i cannot find disconnect option. Becoz of the problem, I tried googling, found that some problems were resolved by reinstalling the update. So, I tried the same without luck. I also tried Factory Reset which didnt worked. After that, I tried GPRS connection and found that I cannot connect with GPRS either.
