Samsung Galaxy S II :: Turning Itself Off?
Aug 6, 2012My s2 has started randomly switching itself off. It happened first thing this morning, could be a concidence but a few minutes after switching it back on it did an auto update from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4. During the day it has switched itself off about 3 times.

May 6, 2011So I live in Israel and my dad got me the galaxy fit from Jordan (because he was there and phone are cheaper there) anyways, i turned it on to check if its working, played with it for like 10 minutes all is good. so i turn it off, put in a Sim Card, a 2G memory card, and connect it to the computer to put songs in it. so i try to turn it on again and it doesnt work, i tried taking out the battery for 10 min and putting it back, but still nothing.

Its turning off and on randomly, the screen colour gets messed up at random times, like completely messed up, the wifi is a little messed up and it seems to be pretty slow So i was just wondering whats the best way for me to do a complete reset? Jan 26, 2012When it is sat in standby and i recieve a text, the screen lights up as usual for a few seconds then dims to turn off again but doesnt turn off, causing my screen to stay on and the phone to run flat in under 4 hours. If I try to use the lock button when this is happening the phone will freeze.
I have also updated to the latest version to try and stop this but it didnt help.

Aug 10, 2015My Samsung Galaxy S6 display keeps turning on and off. And I mean it lights up, then goes black....lights up...then goes black....all day, all night. My battery is draining at least 4-5 times a day. I've tried rebooting. I've tried starting in Safe Mode. Nothing works. And this problem started out of the blue. While the phone is being used....making a phone call, texting or using an app the screen doesn't do this. But if its just sitting there its turning on and off and draining my battery.

Feb 28, 2012I just upgraded my phone today. The phone was working at the T-mobile store out of the box with the limited battery charge the phones ship with. I came home did some stuff .. and the battery was running low. It warned me so I went to plug it into my computer and continued using it. It said it was charging. After a short amount of time the screen powered down and flashed a grey battery logo with a white loading symbol and powered off again and back on doing the same thing.
After this ... the phone would no longer power on even though I left it connected via USB to the laptop. Kind of pissing me off since the phone is brand new. Can I resolve this or is the phone defective?

Jan 29, 2013just picked up an S2 from sprint as a replacement for HTC Evo.Great phone all around, however i`m having one issue. HTC Sense UI has an option to preview messages(2lines) and missed calls right(who and time) on lock screen. This is really handy option with small kids around you dont have to unlock your phone.Since S2 is missing that I've downloaded Notify App which works great.However - I cannot turn off stock notifications - they still show up - so at this time I have to clear notifications twice - once in App and once in Notifications Bar. Is there a way of turning off stock notifications (without custom ROM)? On all other phones i had - there was an option to go to Settings Privacy and uncheck the notifications. This is missing on S2 - all i can see under privacy is Reset to Factory.I really like the phone and how smooth it is. At this point i really dont want to do a custom ROM (`ill root it if need it)

Simply, when I send MMS phone automatically turn on data connection. Same, when somebody send MMS to me, Wildfire S automatically turn on data connection and retrieve MMS. Now I am using Samsung Galaxy S2. I have to keep data connection always on if I want to send and receive MMS. I don't want data connection to be always on because I haven't flat data plan. I tried Quick Setting app. It change APN for internet and keeps data connection always on (do not modify MMS settings). At this way I can use MMS normally, but my battery drain for just 8 hours!

Sep 24, 2011I have the dreaded echo when I'm using the phone and would like to know if there is a permanent way of turning off Noise Reduction as this is the only way I can get rid of it. As I already have a hearing impediment the echo is extremely annoying and having to turn off NR everytime the phone is used strikes me as ridiculous for such an expensive and otherwise marvellous piece of kit; its also a silly inconvenience.
Any hacks that will turn off NR or any chance Samsung will cure this in a software update?
Google Nexus 5 :: WiFi Keeps Turning On And Mobile Data Keeps Turning Off?
Jul 19, 2014I got my Nexus 5 on the 2nd of this month. I'm on Android 4.4.4. Just today, I was out and about and I realized that, although I was going into settings and turning Wi-Fi off, it just kept turning it right back on! (I had been using the Wi-Fi at the mall, then later I went to a friend's house and connected to my friend's Wi-Fi, which did not work.) So, I turned on my data, only for it to turn off after I guess about 30 seconds. I turned it back on, went on WhatsApp, in the middle of replying to a text from my friend it goes off yet again! What the... So, I went into settings and turned data on, and Wi-Fi off. As I watched, the Wi-Fi switched itself back on, and, predictably, even though there were no wireless networks to connect to, my data turned off as well.
This is really inconvenient. What could be causing the problem? I don't think I've downloaded any apps recently, but they do sometimes update. It was working fine on Thursday, but I've had my data off since then. I also booted into Safe Mode, and the problem doesn't seem to persist.

Feb 13, 2011I had a contract with Vodafone over 2 years ago and decided on the BlackBerry Storm 9500 handset . After 6 Months of receiving the phone it developed a fault, i have returned it for repairs on a number of occasions and the reoccurring problem has never been solved & fixed . After eighteen months the phone will still not turn on and when it does work it turns off within one hour of it working, i have been to the Vodafone shop in Torquay South Devon and they supplied me with a new battery to try but it still switches itself off . I ave talked to Vodafone and i was told a fault has been found on this particular model of handset. After 24 months of having this contract phone i have now upgraded to a BlackBerry Torch . I would like to return the 9500 handset to get a free full repair or a replacement as i now need to use both phones. This phone has also had problems with freezing and locking up

"Plane mode" is unfortunately not an option as it doesn't allow listening to the radio... (whereas it allows you to connect yourself to a Wi-fi network or to receive GPS signals, for instance) Would be great if there was a widget "Enable/Disable GSM networks" or something like that, as there is for other functions... but I couldn't find such a thing.

Jul 19, 2011I've lost the 4 digit user selected security lock code which is required to reset the phone.Virgin says Samsung should help recover the code and Samsung says Virgin should help recover the code.A while back, I found a code on the web that allowed me to go into a service menu which listed among other things the lock code. I can't find any information on how to get back into that menu.
By the way, yes, I tried the last 4 digits of the phone number, 0000, 9999, 1234.If anyone knows how to get into the service menu on this phone
The only codes I've found so far are:##786# which gets into an info menu but doesn't have the lock code.##33284# which requires a 6-digit security code which I don't know.
Samsung :: Rant M540 - No Samsung Logo On Start Up Screen?
May 8, 2010I have a display problem with one of my two phone. When you power on the phone the Samsung logo appear and off after that but the phone boot up OK just don't have any on the screen, I can make call or receive OK. I disassemble both phones and swap the main board and find out that nothing wrong with the LCD Screen but the Main board. The phone have BK03 bin and I loaded with CB23 bin and it working good now.

Apr 21, 2011I recently bought a used Samsung Flight online and it appears to be locked. The pictures in the posting all showed it unlocked, connected to Rogers etc and the phone is exactly as shown in the posting based on the nicks/marks on it. However, when I boot it up I am faced with a passcode. I've tried the standard 0000, 1234, 12345, 00000 etc but no luck. I've also messaged the seller but have not received a reply as yet.

Nov 8, 2011A couple years ago my wife bought a Samsung Instinct M810. I flashed the phone to Verizon so she could use PagePlus. Everything has been working fine but the phone has really been beaten up. About the only thing that still works is the speed dial function.
A few days ago I found another Instinct in mint condition for her. I have been trying to flash it to Verizon with limited luck. I activated the phone with PagePlus and received a phone number ( I was planning on porting her number when I had everything working).The phone connects to Verizon but it can't connect to OTP. If I dial a number I get connected to Verizon with the message "Welcome to Verizon, unfortunately we cannot identify your phone, etc."
The problem is that when I dial *22890 (or any *228xx number)the signal bars vanish and there is an indicator showing no service and the call is dropped. After the call is dropped the signal returns and I can again connect to Verizon. I have tried several PRL's, even the one on my wife's current phone but it doesn't make any difference. I didn't have this much trouble with her other phone so I am at a loss.
Samsung :: Samsung Galaxy Nexus Product Registration?
Apr 28, 2012I bought a nexus yesterday and have been unable to register it with the American samsung site (no options for us canadians there) not to mention the fact that after typing in my serial the site says my handset was manufactured 1/31/1993!
On the canadian site which i have all my other samsung products registered, there is no listing for my model number (GT-I9250TSDTLS (this is whats on the box, phone menu just lists my model as Samsung Galaxy Nexus, though the label under that battery shows GT-I9250M as the model number..how am I supposed to register my phone?[URL]..shows that galaxy owners can get a free copy of angry birds space... how do I get that?
