does anyone know how to take a rogue apart for repair. I need to replac a touch screen, I think. It is perfect except that is wil not respond to touch.
I have had a Samsung Galaxy S2 since christmas and I love it. However I have noticed more and more a fault I am having with my keypad. It doesn't seem to matter if I am using messaging, internet, facebook or something else - when I am typing quite often when I hit the 'd' key it just stops typing. It doesn't seem to happen with any other letters - just 'd'.
Once it has done this I cannot get it to type again. It will recognize suggestions where it shows spelling corrections (I am using swype keypad) but nothing is written on the screen. Even if I come out of it and go back it still wont work, the only way to get it to work again is to go into task manager and end the task and then start again.
I can't seem to get the keypad sweeping working. The box is checked in the settings but when I slide my finger across the keypad to make a word, I simply get the last letter i swipe on.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else had any problems with the Messager II / R560 as far as the keypad is concerned? My keypad has become iffy when I press certain keys. It happens mostly with the "T" key. Sometimes I'll press it and it won't register. Sometimes I'll press it and it won't register but then double the "T" the next time I hit it. It'll do this on some other keys around the "T" but mostly the T. I'm thinking it's a warranty issue. This started about a 1.5 months in to using it. I just wanted to get a feel for anyone else having this problem. I'm on Cricket...but I assume this is a problem with the MetroPCS version, too.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a boot-looping Chocolate 3, so then I emergency flashed it and did an MEID repair using tonycortes' method. I got everything working, but now MMS doesn't work. I tried copying the MMS server settings off of a known good phone of the same model and firmware version but still, failing to send every time.Anyone have any really good ideas as to how to get MMS working again? Still on VZW, not cross-carrier flashed or anything.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi recently purchased this x10 thinking i could repair it. It show's absolutely no signs of life. Plus it has a cracked front digitizer. First thing i did was buy an external battery charger and another battery thinking that might be it..but it wasn't. Next thing i did was buy the usb to phone chord to use the repair features provided by SE, but the computer does not read the phone at all. I've tried following the steps provided by the companion software but nothing. I even tried holding the back button while connecting it.

I have tried more than 4 times with different PCs to repair the phone with PCC but anytime i try i get an error message shown below.I dont know why it has to be like this, because this is not my first time repairing my x8 and even though sometimes i do get an error message but when i try for the second time it works.My Phone is not "Dead" and i seriously need help. I was thinking, maybe this error is because of my internet connection or my pc, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am having some major battery draining issues since patching to Android 2.1, which I have noticed many other users were experiencing too. I found, in another thread, that using the repair tool may solve the problem (it had worked for other users), so I figured I would try it. Unfortunately, the repair tool goes through a preparation process, and then fails. It says "the update of software has failed. Please consult a technician". And yes, I have mounted my phone properly before running the process - I am not technologically challenged.
What I would like to know is how can I correct this problem, if any others had experienced the same issue, and how they worked around it. I would prefer NOT to read all the the responses from people that have nothing better to do with their time than write hate-mail about this phone, and how you are going to go demand a refund.I just want to fix it so that my battery works for a couple/few days again, and I can run the repair tool to get my phone back to normal.
i have a xperia z3 (D6653) which the switch sends me the message of the software update failed. That make sure your phone is connected to the computer and try again.

A few weeks back, my HTC Mytouch (Magic)'s headphone jack stopped working. I had called them up and had an RMA set up to have it fixed.In the box, I had included a typed note stating the problem, stating the phone is unlocked and that I would like it returned unlocked, and a simple request to remove dust from under the screen (since they would have the phone apart anyways)
Anyways, when I get the unit back, they changed motherboards (new IMEI number), re-locked the phone and didn't clean the dust out from under the screen. I called HTC support on Monday and explained how the phone was unlocked when sent in and because it is a different IMEI number than the one that I purchased, T-Mobile wouldn't supply the unlock code. The woman on the phone said it could take 48 hours for them to get back to me with the code.I called HTC and they said it could take up to 72 hours to get the code. Called yesterday. Was told that the guy had emailed the support team directly and I would have it by this morning. Called and they said it would take 7-14 days and it would be text-messaged to me. I'm really, really ****ed off. They didn't read the note I included and wrapped the phone in and they are taking forever to get the code to me. T-Mobile isn't any help because I had initially bought the phone and used it as a pre-paid. Closed the account there a few months back.
my 4gs popped out of my shirt and fell in the sink of water. Just to make sure no further damage, i turned it off It is still under warranty though . Please any sugesstions regarding replacement

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am (was) the owner of a Xperia X10. Unfortunately in late 2010 I had the common fault of the phone not charging. So I sent of my phone to get repaired at the Sony Ericsson accredited repair center, SBE. About a week after sending it of they said that the damage was covered by the warranty and that they would send me a brand new replacement X10. However, when I got the phone back the memory card was missing. When I rung up to enquire about it's whereabouts they had no idea where it was and refused to replace it, even though on the form I sent with the phone I declared I had sent the memory card. Obviously I was angry, since was there was literally nothing I could do about it. I got over that. However, about a month ago the exact same fault occoured. Since I knew the damage was covered by warranty and the chances were that a I would receive a new phone I was all to keen to send it off to SBE. With the knowledge than my memory card had been lost last time I used SBE I was extra careful to only send items which could have attributed to the fault. These included the phone itself, the battery and the charger. After about 2 weeks of it being away (I posted it on next day special delivery) they finally got back to me with the news that the fault wasn't covered by the warranty. Clearly I was pretty angry, so I phoned orange, who advised me to have it sent back and then take it in to them to have a look at. £10.00 later and my phone was sent back to me... missing the charger. I was fuming! And once again, because I had no proof that I had sent it they refused to help me in any way shape or form.So, if you break your Sony Ericsson, please, think before you send it of to SBE. Read around, I'm not the only one who's had a bad experience with SBE. I can't believe they are still accredited by Sony Ericcson.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI sent by N8 to a Nokia care point in October 2012 as the bottom piece that enters the battery compartment had broken in one corner and thought I'd better get it fixed before the warranty expired in November 2012. When it was returned I checked it turned on and reloaded some of the software, however I then requested an unlock code from orange UK and that was the end of that as I had already made my sim into a mini sim for my new Nokia 808. Although I have just received an unlock code from orange (another story altogether) however when I turned my phone on the battery was nearly depleted.When trying to charge it with the mini jack, the battery icon doesn't change to indicate it is charging, I have tried many different Nokia chargers with the mini jack and it does nothing. When I plug it into my laptop it recognizes it as a Nokia N8 and connects to Nokia suite OK, it then tries to charge showing the nokia logo, and dot sequence but then disappears and stops charging. I have also tried starting the charge on my 808 pureview USB charger and then plugging the charger back into the N8 to the same effect as plugging it into the laptop.
