A simple combination of music/photo/phone for people who don't need a full featured smartphone.Unfortunately, my wife dropped her LG Chocolate Touch and the screen appears damaged. Jun 28, 2012I have enjoyed my motoactv to a certain degree, despite portal failures, bugs, and the like, but my latest experience is very disappointing.Add me to the list of persons that has had the device fall and develop a hairline crack in the screen. Ok I've seen the other horror stories on the forum about support. My device works fine, but I don't want it to get wet now with the screen crack.
I opened a call, and since I am from Canada, I was given a repair location that is right in my home city. Perfect! However they refused to even look at the device, claiming they repair Motorola phones but not the motoactv. I provided the Motorola ticket number and explained that Motorola referred me to them. They couldn't care less and refused to accept the device. I regulary use a US address, and so opened up a new case; and shipped my device to the US. The *very* day within hours of receiving notification that I would have to pay to have the motoactv fixed, (This is not a problem for me.) I phoned in and requested that the repair be made, and provided payment by credit card.I have a Gran Fondo event in Mid July, and will *definitely* be using my Garmin. Looks like I have perhaps totally wasted my money on this device, although for now I can use it as an mp3 player when I go to the gym......

Jul 29, 2011I have a DroidX and my screen was recently cracked when it fell on a tile floor. I called Motorola, and they do screen repair but the technician I spoke with informed me that they would have to reset the phone to do this, which would affect my text messages I have saved. It normally wouldn't be a big deal, but I have several text messages from my father, spanning over 6 months, which are very valuable to me because he passed away quite suddenly two weeks ago.My question is: Would there be any way to repair the screen without having to reset the phone? I am willing to purchase a screen repair kit and give it a go myself to try to save these messages. They are one of the only things I have left of my dad.

Sep 5, 2012We send a droid razr for repair on 8/22 and it was received on 8/24. Received an email at 11:03 on 8/27 that the problem with the phone is not covered under the warrantee and to contact Motorola as soon as possible to authorize and pay for the repair. I agreed to pay $125 plus tax to repair the screen as long as the overheating and battery not holding a charge was looked into. Today I called to see what was going on and was advised that she (rep) has no idea and would send an email and get back to me within 24-24 hours. I advised that was not acceptable and I was sent to the Repair Escalation Department, Curtis advised me the exact same thing and when i explained that my phone has been with Motorola since 8/24 and they have had my payment since 8/27 and that originally I was advised that the repair would be done and the phone back to me within 5 business days and we were now at 8 and I needed to speak to a supervision he stated that he was the supervisor and there was no one above him to talk to. Someone please explain how I am getting the same exact information (none with a 24 to 48 hour wait time) from customer service and the Repair Escalation Department?

I tried copying the MMS server settings off of a known good phone of the same model and firmware version but still, failing to send every time.Anyone have any really good ideas as to how to get MMS working again? Nov 26, 2010I am having some major battery draining issues since patching to Android 2.1, which I have noticed many other users were experiencing too. I found, in another thread, that using the repair tool may solve the problem (it had worked for other users), so I figured I would try it. Unfortunately, the repair tool goes through a preparation process, and then fails. It says "the update of software has failed. Please consult a technician". And yes, I have mounted my phone properly before running the process - I am not technologically challenged.
What I would like to know is how can I correct this problem, if any others had experienced the same issue, and how they worked around it. I would prefer NOT to read all the the responses from people that have nothing better to do with their time than write hate-mail about this phone, and how you are going to go demand a refund.I just want to fix it so that my battery works for a couple/few days again, and I can run the repair tool to get my phone back to normal.
