Aug 7, 2012Email was working fine prior to upgrading to ICS 4.0.4. Now my Samsung Galaxy S2 does not connect to my Apple Icloud account. I cannot get my emails pushed to my phone now.

Oct 27, 2012When I put it in the car dock the voice controls work great, and when I navigate the voice from the phone is fine. I have bluetooth built into my car, and so when I enable bluetooth, I can now make calls on the phone using the car's voice controls, and I can hear the calls over the car's speakers, but I lose all voice functionality on the phone. That is, I can no longer speak to the phone and get it to respond, even though it's on the voice-activation screen. There is also no voice from the phone, for example in navigation. It doesn't come from the phone nor from the car's speakers. As soon as I turn bluetooth off, all that functionality comes back.
Any ideas on how to rectify this? I'd like to hear the navigation through the car's speakers ideally, or otherwise, at least be able to hear it from the phone's speakers and have the phone respond to voice commands while having bluetooth enabledSecondary issue: there's no more alert for received text messages when I get one with my Galaxy. My previous phone worked fine, so I know it's not a car system issue. This is less important, but I'm still curious.

Oct 26, 2011I am searching for a free apps - voice guided navigation using gps in Samsung galaxy s2. bought samsung galaxy s2 recently.y friend, a die hard fan of Apple's products showed me his I Phone4 with a newly downloaded apps (Sygic- a voice guided navigation system).FYI, Apple's IPhone / IPad is able to download the Voice guided GPS navigation Apps (Sygic) and use it for free. Users can also update the maps from time to time. *After apple users 'jail-break' their devices, they are able to download many apps for free, including Sygic*ut for Samsung GS2 / Tab users, they are only able to download Sygic and use it for trial periods of 7 days.Subsequently, they have to pay $$.Now I am facing this problem, the apps keep asking me to key in the activation code which I will be getting the code after paying them.
So, i am searching everywhere for the similar apps (free apps), but couldn't get.The preloaded apps in my SGS2 when i bought are Google Maps, Navigate (a blue triangle icon). "Navigate" is good and accurate, but the only thing is there is no turn-by-turn (tbt)voice guidance. I prefer to have a tbt voice guidance as I don't have to look at my phone and I can concentrate more on the road / traffic while i am driving.

Nov 17, 2011I know that 2.3.5 has been released for some people in the uk. Unfortunately I cant get it, im on 2.3.4 and have unlocked and debranded it from o2 to stock samsung firmware. When connecting to kies 2.3.4 is the latest i get. I cant find any 2.3.5 with the proper CSC, it needs to be XEU, where can i get this from to flash it using Odin?

Jul 28, 2015Whenever I am using Google Maps for navigation and I plug in my phone to my quick charger, it doesn't actually charge the phone. It just keeps the phone at the same charge level, but never actually charges the phone. I know the charger works, because if I'm not using Google Maps, the phone charges as expected. I'm using a 3rd party quick charger, but that shouldn't matter.

Apr 24, 2012I updated my SG2 to ICS v4.0.3 last night, and everything went smoothly with no problems to report. Apart from the fact the install seemed to delete 2 of my 3 email accounts that were set up 1 Hotmail account and 1 AOL account.I've set up the Hotmail account no problem, but for some reason I just cannot get the AOL one set up. I input my email address and password and it progresses to the 'retrieving information' screen but then I keep getting the error message Sign in incorrect - The attempt to sign in failed due to an invalid User Name, Password or incorrect settings. Please check blah blah blah....try again blah blah blah Now I've sucessfully logged in to the email account via the internet (just in case I was been a numpty and entering the incorrect password) and the details are all correct. I've even tried changing my password on-line then logging in again on my phone with the new one, but I still get the smae error message. I never had this problem at all with Gingerbread.

Mar 12, 2012New to the forums and looking for some opinions regarding my SGS2. recently updated to the latest O2 firmware (2.3.5) and ever since my phone has been very unstable. It reboots at random (has done so at least twice today just sitting on my desk doing nothing!) and I also have issues when plugged in via usb (loses connection whilst copying music over, can't expand storage, etc). Just wondering if anybody else has had similar issues with O2 Firmware, or if that's just a coincidence and I actually have a faulty handset??

Apr 25, 2012I have tried numerous times over the last couple of days to upgrade my SGS2 to ICS. After I realised connecting to Kies Air wouldn't work, I downloaded and installed the latest version of Kies onto my laptop.The first time I tried to download via USB, the phone connected to Kies but said I could not upgrade unless my battery was fully charged. Odd, as it would be charging while linked to my laptop during upgrading anyway, but I thought I would try again in the morning when my phone was fully charged from overnight charging.
So I tried this morning when charged to 100%, and later this evening when half charged, and Kies refuses to recognise my phone. It keeps saying connecting, connecting, then I get a message saying it cannot connect. I have disconnected and reconnected umpteen times to no avail. I have run the troubleshooter a few times and reinstalled the Kies drivers two or three times. Again, to no avail.I have seen various threads on here about USB debugging etc. and I have tried to tick then re-untick that, but no joy there.I'm starting to think it would be easier just to do without this bloody update and just wait for the SGS3 to come out.

Jan 18, 2012I have had an SGS and now this week have an SGSII. When upgrading, the Android OS is a pain compared to other OS systems, in that is wipes all installed apps and configuration each time. Upgrade a version of Windows for example, and it does not lose all your config. Is there any app or restore method that will put everything you had installed and configured as it was? Otherwise it takes Hrs to get phone back to correct state each time.

May 4, 2012I upgraded my GS2 from Gingerbread to ICS. This was an OTA upgrade. I simply downloaded the upgrade and clicked "go ahead". All went ok, except for one thing. Every few minutes I get a rather annoying little pop up message which reads:

I've tried resetting the phone and so on, but it keeps popping up every xx minutes.

Jul 22, 2012I?ve been through every avenue possible but Kies still does not recognise my Galaxy S II when I try to upgrade the software.Checking the device manager in Win7 shows Galaxy usb device installed and functioning normally.Kies just runs and runs and in the end shows message device not found? Another problem is that during this installation process the firmware upgrade has encountered an issue and no longer reset back to the previous installation.I therefore only have two options on my mobile presently,the other one beeing the Odin mode showing the Android icon and ?Downloading? i.e. ready to receive the data.I have the latest .net Framework installed as well as the latest Kies software.Any other way to make the connection between Odin and my phone?

Dec 18, 2012Recently my phone did a software upgrade, and for some reason this removed all my email settings. I've been trying to setup my email account on it again but don't seem to be having any joy. My address is through Utility Warehouse (xxxxx@uwclub.net)- so I typed that and the password in at the first setup screen. The next screen asked to select between pop3 and IMAP, which I chose pop3. I then set the incoming server to pop3.uwclub.net and the outgoing to smtp.uwclub.net- I am positive these are the settings I've used before. However after saying Processing for a long time I get a timeout message. I've tried with and without SSL and I still can't get my emails to work!

May 31, 2012I have PhoneShare on my Series 9 laptop and installed the app on my SGS2. Fantastic tool! then I upgraded to ice cream sandwich and now I can't connect either by scanningthe QR or using the previous successful connection.The PC version generates the barcode, the phone reads it successfully and reads "preparing phoneshare", I get a connection PC reads "connecting to smartphone" then "retrieving data from address book" appears on PC app, finally "poneshare ready" on the PC. The connection is not established though and the icons on the PC remained greyed out. The message on the phone app remains "preparing phoneshare" and after 10-20 minutes hangs.I have reinstalled the PC and phone apps to no avail. Is anyone else getting this? Is it a known/unrecognised bug on ICS?

FYI, my connection to wifi is fully correct and is in coverage area and normally signal strength is excellent, it mean i don't have any problem to connect to wifi in all places same as home, office or any other places. but i'm wonder that why i can't use any, yes any application even simple factory pre-installed applications same as google search when wifi is active but if i turn off my wifi and using packet data, all, yes all of applications working properly. FYI, my all applications worked properly before this problem raised (i'm not sure but seems my problme appeared when i backed from china trip which i changed my SIM card in china with a Chinese SIM card) so, i believe there is some mistake in setting which maybe occurred
