Samsung Galaxy S II :: Half The Screen Loads, Glitch Graphics?
Jun 13, 2012
I have had my phone since last september and its only now that i am having problems with it. I was using it this morning working fine, till i locked the screen. When i tried to unloack it only the top half of the screen shows an image the other half barely visible and i have this wierd lines trying to scroll down the screen like its trying to load. I have not dropped my phone or knocked it or anything. I have taken very good care of it so i am suprised to be having this issue. I have tried taking the battery and putting it back it and i have also tried doing a hard reset. still no luck. I cant even setup the phone again since i cant use the bottom half of the screen. I tried rotating it hoping it would work but no luck. so the phone is practically useless to me right now.
When I try to start up my phone the Blackberry logo and loading bar appears and loads but stops at half way and then does nothing. I've tried taking out the battery and sim card, putting in the charger etc but nothing works.
I got my second s6, I said I would give it another chance; and now, half of my screen is pink, is there a fix for this?I will try to replace it if I can Note: the pink tint is only see able from the front of the display, from the sides is white..
I got the S6 Edge yesterday and it's my first Samsung phone. I've notice a faint blue tint on the bottom half on the screen. If you open a new tab in Chrome you can see it there against the white background. The top half of the screen is a nice white color.. there is definitely some kind of darker difference on the bottom half.
my phone is approx 2 years old and a few months ago developed a glitch in that it shows the number of the text messages I have, and the number is increasing despite the fact that I have deleted all texts from the phone. I noticed that when I switch the phone on after a period off, it adds new messages and shows them as "new" (with that sparkly sign at the corner of it). I wonder whether there is a way of deleting this misleading icon from the home-screen?
I came home last night and discovered my Droid 2 was completely dead. Removing the battery and putting it back in had no effect. I placed it on the Motorola docking station and tried to boot up - nothing. However, at 2:00 in the morning I noticed the DROID was displaying a bright solid white screen. It would not respond to any action, so I removed the battery again. The battey was warm to the touch. Puting the battery back in this time dis allow meto boot back with the home page looking fine, so I'm guessing the first time the battery was dead. I placed it back in the docking station, shut down the display. When I woke up the next morning the Droid would not respond to the power n button. Once again I removed the battery to force a hard reboot. After putting the battery back in it wouldn't boot, but I noticed the screen was not black, but instead it was a dull lighted blueish gray. I removed the battery again and let the DROID sit for a couple hours. After this I put the battery back in and the DROID did boot up and everything seemed to be working. While in the docking station, charging, and after several hours the DROID was once again a dull lighted blueish gray. It would not respond to any action. I pulled the battery again which was warm to the touch. I let the DROID sit overnight with the battery removed. Today, it has been functioning correctly for at least 8 hours, 4 of those hours in the docxking station displaying time and date as usual.
What am I dealing with (software, hardware, battery)? The battery seems to be OK and charged. I'm using the SystemPannel APP to monitor CPU history and do not see anything unusual for the day. Regretablly, SystemPannel looses it history after one of these lock ups, so I can't see what happened just before the lock up. Can someone suggest another analysis tool that would catch the last moments before the lock up on the SD card? In its current state, I have no faith the phone will be working when I really need it.
A friend recently gave me a phone that was working fine. I went to sleep, next day nothing works. After pulling battery and it going through the loading screen, it will get to the home screen. Moving the rolling ball thingy is the only thing that works, it wont let you actually select anything. I have tried to do a "soft" reset ? by pressing alt/shift right/ and delete. Nothing happens when I do this. Eventually when the screen goes to "sleep" I guess nothing will make the home screen come up again.
When someone sends an email with "stationary" or background graphics, the email chops off and just displays about 1/4 of the message. This is horizontally, not vertically. The emails display normally on the Mac.
I am having issues with some Apps like the game Jewel with graphics not being stretched to the full size of screen.Just started after 3.2 update from yesterday. Is this a video compatibility issue with some Apps not updating yet to catch up with 3.2?
Screen has a line flickering through it, and the graphics also are starting to flicker. When I open the camera, the graphics invert to look like 'pop art', and then the camera crashes. When using other applications sometimes the app crashes, to a black screen and usually the graphics invert. The only way to rectify is to put the phone to sleep, then when i wake it up - its back to normal, until the next time...? Its becoming more and more frequent, and has been happening for 6 days now.
Does any one know how can I recover the pics from an old phone that its broken in half? Its a Samsung SGH-T509 and it wont turn on. Does it have like an internal memory or something I can use?
how I (in the simplest possible way) can use my pc as a secondary screen to my galaxy sII? I want my screen on the phone to be mirrored on the computor, so I can show (i.e.with a projector) my actions on the Samsung to an audience.
So as things are perfect and smiley in the world, the way to make your day complete is to drop your brand new samsung galaxy s2 from a pathetically small height and watch as the whole screen shatters to bits. Enough to put anyone in a great mood.Fixing the screen isn't the problem though. 02 have agreed to fix it for me, for a small fee, but they have confirmed that the whole phone will be flashed before hand. This is not good. I have a lot of memories on the phone that i would like back.I have connected the phone to samsung keis, however, since the screen locked, the dam thing won't let me in to my own data. Understandably this is to ensure absolutle security to your sh** but I can't help wondering why samsung didn't install an option that allows you to unlock the phone from your computer. really need some help figuring out how I can get my sh** back. If anyone knows how to bypass the screen lock or just refresh it. Any advice would be greatly appriciated. I'm not in a great rush since my mum refuses to pay for the fix. and it'll take me a few weeks to save up.i can't unlock the phone because i can't see the screen and i think the touch pad is bust as well.
Right i know you can move the home screens around by pinching but you cant do the same for the app screens, basically when i got my phone everything im downloading and want to use is on the apps screen on page 4, well id like to put everything i use on page 4 onto page one, can i do this? And also how can i put icons that are in the apps screen onto my homescreen?
My Galaxy S II has the annoying habit of having its screen go into idle or sleep mode and then blacken when I'm on a call. I want to have the "Phone" screen showing up at all times when I'm on a call, so I can access the speakerphone, etc. Is there a way to "lock" the screen in "Phone" mode when I'm on a call?
Half of the screen(diagonally half) is white/grey with a black splotch and the other half you can barely read it but it still works aside from the screen "jumping" up and down, having a plaid design to it that keeps shaking and keeps changing colors but I don't know whether it has water in it or not or what the problem is!
My blackberry curve screen has gone white at the the bottom until about half way up and there are vertical colored lines going through it. I am still able to use it.
Uhmm From holding my phone to portrait position, then to landscape after i click the camera it started but kinda half, half is what is in from of the lens*caputuring, but other 1/4 half isnt camera its just a black blank part, then later the camera become whole screen.is this alright?? sory no idea, noob if this is alright to the phone.
I dropped my iPhone & half of my screen when black. The other half is not completely clear, but it's not awful. Everything is working perfectly fine other than the fact that the entire left side of my screen is black. Can I fix it myself or do I have to take it to my Verizon store to be fixed? (and pressing the home and lock screen buttons for 10-20 seconds does NOT work).
I send a text to someone and they reply saying they're confused as to what I'm talking about... The text is exactly how I've wrote it on my device but when they send me back what they've received its half of the correct text and half of an old one?
I was using my phone, just an hour ago. I went for a bike ride (which I do on a regular basis), and I then tried to put in my lock but it seems like the top half of the screen is unresponsive. Nothing is different about the LCDs but the touch part isn't working.i already tried factory reset and to remove dirt/screen protector.
This weekend, out of the blue, when I go into messages it only displays on half of the screen. On other applications I see items on the full screen - this is only affecting email.
Does anyone know the path and file to something in openSSH that I can change to fix this? Deleted winterboard which did nothing. Every lockscreen wallpaper is like this now.
