Samsung Galaxy S II :: Cannot Add Photos To Contacts
Aug 31, 2012
When i got my Galaxy S2, i had no problems adding photos to people in my contact list, but just recently, every time i search for that contact to add a new photo or update it, regardless of whether the contact already has a photo or not, it comes up with "Contact not found"??
These are the steps i am using (in case there is another way):
* Open photo from Gallery
* Touch Phone Menu (Comes up with Share Via, Set as and More along bottom)
* "Set as"
* Choose Contact photo
* Type name into "Find contacts"
* Immediately comes up with "Not found"
Love the phone - just got a really irritating problem. I've synced my phone with my gmail account - the My Contacts list has my key contact email addresses. Then I have multiple groups within gmail account relating to work emails etc, nearly 500 odd.
On the phone, when I click my 'Contacts' button, initially it showed all my phone number contacts, as well all google email contacts mixed with them. I corrected this by going to 'display options' to select 'display only contacts with phone numbers', so that I didn't have to trawl through random email addresses mixed with my proper phone contacts. Great, sorted.
But, when I go to compose a text message - if it is to one or two specific contacts it is fine...I just type their name and it comes up. If I want to scroll through all my phone contacts to send the same message to multiple contacts, big problem - I press that envelope button in the top right corner next to 'enter recipient', and it takes me to the Contacts list, but here it still shows ALL 600 odd contacts with phone contacts still mixed with google email contacts, which is impossible to scroll through and select multiple people to send a text message to....Does anyone know how to sort this out?!??!
I can't take photo's off my SGS II anymore. I used to be able to take them off by going to my computer -> phone -> dcim -> camera But when I click the Camera folder, it seems like the phone automatically reconnects to the PC so all the windows close. Using "Samsung choose"
Ok, so when I am in the compose message view I start typing a name to send a message to and the phone shows me all numbers for that contact, even if I deleted that number... for example say my contact Lewis upgrades and gets a new number, I edit his contact, deleting the old number and replacing it with the new. Then when I type LEW into the compose message "to" section it shows all numbers ever stored under that name, if you know what I mean..? So i am typing someones name getting multiple numbers even if they only have 1 number to there name.This also seems to be the case if someone registers a number to FB and I overwrite that number with a new number
Since I upgraded to ICS when I take a photo it will not save to the gallery. The photo is captured but when I touch the picture it displays the message No items. I have tried switching between saving photos to the Phone and Memory Card to no avail. My Picture Gallery, just shows the pictures from my Google+ account and Drop Box not those Ive taken. I am on Three in the UK with the latest firmware version:
On 1st January 2015, I took some photos and videos in my Samsung Galaxy S5. I went to view those photos and videos in my gallery. First few times, the photos and videos were there. After some time, I went to view the photos and videos again in my gallery. Suddenly the photos and videos I took on January 1st were missing but photos I took before January 1st 2015 were still there. I'm sure I didn't delete any of the photos. Is there something I can do about?
I accidently deleted the full contents of the "Camera" folder.ll the photos and video that I had taken in the last 2 months were lost. ( I know I should have backed them up...but I was planning to do it today...not thinking I was going to do something stupid last night!)I have a hunch that the files might be able to be restored...possibly using some sort of restore/recovery software.I have tried 2 software programs so far...Piriform Recuva & Stella Phoenix Photo Recovery.he problem is that neither of them recognise the Samsung Galaxy S II as being present, even though it is plugged in and showing in "My Computer"So...does anyone know of software that does work.
How the heck to you do it on an AT&T Samsung Galaxy IIs?
1) Press the Web icon 2) Go to search engine images of your choice (Google, I choose you!) 3) Search for an image. 4) Click on an image from the search results
Now how do I save it to the phone? I can't find any way to save.
Using default stock Android Web Browser Android 2.3.4 SGH-i777 I777UCKH7 firmware.
I accidentally deleted my whole photo history today. I had a back-up but there are several irreplaceable photos that I had taken since the last back-up.
I've read the other threads on this topic. I've installed Piriform Recuva and found the DCIM cache but got no further. The Recuva programme doesn't recognise the phone when it's plugged in to the computer.
When I go to storage on the phone, it says there's no sd card inserted (this is probably right - I remember buying one last year but I don't think I ever put it in since I used so little memory), so I can only assume everything's stored on usb or on the phone itself, but I can't see where the usb is to take it out. The only option available under storage there is 'format usb storage', which I don't want to do.
I was wondering if one can manage photos on one's phone? In other words, I would like to move photos from one folder to another, or even create a new folder and move photos from one folder to another.
Some red hue appears at the center of the pictures that are taken with my Galaxy S2Not every picture but some of them has it. It is circular in shape and only affects the colors of the objects at the center of the pictures. Did anyone notice this?
How do I download photos on my galaxy to my imac. Syncmate is setup on both comp & galaxy. The camera connected by usb cable is not recognised by iphoto, photoshop, picasa etc.
in that my galaxy s2 downloads all the pics on my phone even though they are already stored in the file that it downloads too! it adds a new jpeg number to the photo so doesn't see it as a duplicate. i now have 26 identical photos of the basement of my house. i am sure there must be a way of stopping it doing this, but i cannot find a menu or setting to alter.
I spent ages yesterday individually connecting each phone contact to their fb account and then today all of a sudden they all just dissapeared again! I don't want every fb 'friend' to appear in my phonebook, so how on earth do I do this so that it's not going to delete them all each day. This phone won't defeat me, it has such good reviews so I am baffled why I am having problems.
I am trying to retrieve photos from a Samsung Galaxy S6 that is stock at the lock screen. The finger print scan is not working and they do not know there back up password. I researched two ways to get around this.
1. Entering in the google account user name and password 2. Signing into Find My Mobile with the samsung account information and unlocking the phone
If both of these options fail due to the owner not remembering there above credentials is there any other way to retrieve photos. How about putting the phone in dfu mode and using a program on a computer to copy photos from the internal storage. Is something like this possible?
I just shifted from iPhone to galaxy5, i transferred all the data via smart-switch. And I also tried Dropbox in new galaxy s5, all the photos are doubled. one is original and other one's are duplicate (few Kb's). I had around 900 photos from iPhone to new galaxy s5, but in Dropbox- total photos are around 1700. Is there anyway I can delete duplicate one's easily.
secondly, drop-box setting is "sync via WI-fi". even if i don't click any new picture or video, its still backing up every-time. at one point it says" up to date" after few hours it syncing again.
Having great difficulty in transferring data/photos from my Galaxy S II to my laptop. When my S II is plugged in to my laptop, within my laptop, it does not recognise the storage device within the S II, but only acknowledges it as "other devices". So therefore I can not enter into the SII device to transfer etc.
My girlfriend dropped her phone and the screen has smashed on the inside but there is no smash on the outside. She is getting a replacement phone but wants to retrieve her photos from her old phone. I have tried installing samsung kies but I cannot access anything as she has a passcode on the phone. All the button still light up but the screen just doesnt respond and is constantly black. When I connect the USB cable to the phone nothing happens either and I cannot access the files through my computer to even drag and drop them.
I've had other phones and never had this problem; you plug in the USB and it recognizes it as a drive. I just switched from S4 to S6 and it won't recognize it. I've even tried different cables.
I backed up all photos from my old phone Samsung s4 (which is now completely dead) and transferred them to the new one Samsung s6. Apparently they can be only seen on a APP called photos but not on my gallery. How can I move them.
Last night I noticed that all my photos taken by my camera are gone and only 2 from the last week are left :-( I had backed up my files about a year ago and didn't delete anything. Is there any way to recover the missing photos. I also have installed DiskDigger and it says my device is not rooted.
Dropped phone 3 stories out of a window and LCD and screen broken and wont turn on so cannot retrieve data, pictures or videos it wont sync to computer and I don't know the username or password of the Gmail that is connected to the phone.
I've set my phone to auto backup my photos when I'm on my wi-fi and also plugged in and charging. It says my backup has failed with a little yield logo with an exclamation point. I clicked the manual refresh circle to the right of that message and it keeps failing. If I view my photos in the Gallery almost all of them have only the device card symbol, and only a few from when the phone was new have the colored logo on the duplicate photo.
