Nokia :: N97 - Widgets Not Working Since Upgrade To V20
Jan 10, 2010
i updated my software as i was having problems with the widgets sometimes crashing. since i updated it, my facebook, and weather widgets will not work at all. i can't even access them from the applications menu. the last time i had problems like these the phone was sent off for repair and i didnt get it back, i was given a replacement after 30 days of waiting. does anyone have any ideas on how i could fix this myself? i dont want to have to send the phone off again and re-buy all my games etc. i tried re-updating the software again, no joy. will be getting rid of this phone in april.
The AP mobile app says connection error and I can't use it on the homescreen or using the actual app. Also the facebook application has an issue,if I go to anybody's profile it says "No wall posts" clearly there is a problem here. practically makes the phone useless for me and a waste of money.
I have a Verizon S6. After the 5.1.1 update, most of my widgets aren't working. Some will half work ei: Doggcatcher podcast widget, will not change album art but the play pause button works. Google Play music will not load, Verizon Wireless data usage will not load and the Google search bar will not work.
I have cleared cache, restarted the phone, power cycled . Both gave different results. The power cycle really killed the widget.
I just got a brand new N5. So far so good but theres a couple of things that are bothering me... mostly the fact that widgets dont seem to self update at ALL!! When I tap on them they still work, but the actual widget stays the same.
There has been a lot going on about J10i2 Elm's firmware release "R7CA061". I do not know if the answers team is aware of this particular firmware, but if so, me, and many other Elm users are waiting for answers on these question:
1) Why is R7CA061 only available via FOTA? SE Update Service even thinks that R7CA061 is older than R7BA076, even though R7CA061 only came out less than a week ago.
2) Why are there no official notes about this release on the Sony Ericsson website? It is not listed here http://www.sonyericsson.com/update?cc=gb&lc=en . It almost seems as if Sony Ericsson "accidentally" released this firmware in a test stage.
3) Why do the widgets in the home screen no longer work after this update?
I recently upgraded the firmware of my Nokia E71 to the latest version i.e. 500-21-009. I followed the instructions in Nokia site and took complete backup before upgrading and restored entire stuff after upgrade. Now, though my settings are intact as it was before upgrade and my operator (Airtel) also confirmed that my GPRS subscription is active, I can not connect to Web nor can check my emails. Whenever I attempt to browse, it gives an error message saying 'Connection Not available'! In fact, I checked inserting my CIM card to another Nokia phone and could browse Internet with same GPRS settings as in E71.
I have a very oldCK-200, which had 1.21 SW, and I updated it yesterday to 4.0 ... remote no longer works, and I did try the ignition off/remove control head/power on with switch after 30 seconds...
The "Email for Nokia 10 Accounts" also called Nokia Messaging does not work after firmware upgrade.I upgraded my E63 firmware from 400.21.13 to 410.21.10 (the latest). After upgrade, I installed the Email software, ver 9.07(2), from Ovi store. The problem starts after I entered my email address and password. The software imported the email account to the Communication --> Messaging folder (where you used to read your text message). Before upgrading, the email software manages all my email accouts and synchronise up to 10 emails. Now that nice email software and user friendly interface no longer show up. Instead it uses that poor design Communication --> Messaging folder. It only allows maximum 2 email acct. auto retrieval and NOT working with yahoo mail.
do/does anyone get yahoo mail working? I just can't get to work, I have no problem setting up Gmail and have it working....my yahoo mail was working fine before the firmware 2.1 update.
When I first got my X6 I was able to play BBC iPlayer. After I upgraded the phone's firmware, I cant play iPlayer programs and can't find the app in OVI suite/ I'm sure it was there before. Any idea where to download it?
since the Upgrade to firmware 53.001 (053.001.237.03, dated 29th Nov 2010/06th Jan 2011) on my E52 (E52-1, RM-469), none of my remote drives work any more.
I've had some fun with the phone lately, in that I've re-flashed it a few times. The SW Version was unknown after updating to 51 OTA, then flashed with Global, then back to UK and then updated to 51 OTA again (as can't download 51 UK yet).
Now noticing that the Widgets have a habit of randomly disappearing off my desktop, so I have to re-add them. Not sure what causes it or why,
I'm having some problems with certain widgets not opening. I click the icon in the menu and the widget starts to open but will soon shut down with no error message or anything.
I tried to remove the widgets that are malfunctioning but the icons will not disappear from the menu. I think this all started after installing Evernote Beta widget.
Is it possible to get rid of those icons and try to re-install some of the widgets manually or do I have to hard reset? I really wouldn't want to hard reset.
I actually want my widgets to update WHILE I am roaming. Usually people don't want their widgets to update while roaming, because data fees abroad are very expensive. However, the provider I use,'Telfort', uses the 'KPN' network to serve their clients. Because of that, my Nokia thinks I am roaming, but in reality, I am not.
Because of this, my background widgets stop updating their selves after a period of time, and I have to press 'content to online mode' a few times everyday, which is annoying.
how I can get my widgets to keep automatically updating while roaming ?
Is it possible to have a shortcut bar with less than 4 widgets, is there a blank/empty icon possibility ? I searched around but haven't found and solution so far.
on review of Belle from nokia early ,it was told that n8 belle will have NFC and resizeable widgets, but after i update to belle, i cant find any of those. so when will nokia give them out ?
i have 5233 after i had updated my phone software to v12.1.092(via phone fota) i had to hard reset the phone due to some problem. now my problem is solved but the social networking widgets that came with the phone are not preset like facebook,Internet, etc also something called api bridge is not installed. then i updated my phone software to v21.1.004(via phone fota) but still i don't have those widgets.
after the hard reset i had done for some days i sometimes used to get popup which said installing and it used to load for a few seconds and said cannot install unauthorized software on memory card and install would fail. i have no problems with my phone but want to know how to reinstall all the preinstalled widgets that the phone came with.
I currently own a Nokia C7 and recently upgraded to Belle (which is fantastic) and as such Nokia Maps 3.08 was also installed. The map upgrade did not come with any homescreen widgets, and I have seen videos/screenshots of phones with a 'my position' type map widget (which fills half a homescreen) and a 'weather' widget (a bar type widget which when clicked is cleary the nokia maps weather app).how to get hold of them as I cannot find them on the Nokia store?
I've messed up my n900. I installed OpenJazz from extras-devel (stupidly ignoring warnings about using extras-devel as a noob) and it appears to have killed the phone.
Now all my desktop widgets have vanished (when I add one, it disappears from the list of available widgets, but isn't visible on the screen), and I can't run any applications (apart from built in things like Calendar and Settings).
I guess I've messed up a system file somewhere and I need to reflash the device, but before I do that I wanted to see if anyone's had this before, and if it's solvable without reflashing? It'd also be interesting to know if anyone can identify exactly what the problem is...
I lost all nokia N8 widgets including Music store after I hard reset my N8. I have really been searching but have been unable to find a work around for this. I am unable to play any OVI music on my phone as it searched for a license and ends up saying that this is not my registered device.
Well like most I have updated to belle on my N8 today. Unlike some others, my update went pretty smooth over all. One thing I have noticed is all RSS feed widgets are no longer available to be added to the home screen.
Just updated to Belle this morning & having a problem installing widgets/shortcuts to the home-screen. It worked at 1st but now it stalls & the little circle just keeps spinning forever & does not do anything.
I upgraded my Tour's OS to version 5 because after the last time I upgraded App World, the icon disappeared. After I upgraded to OS5, the App World Icon reappeared, but BlackBerry Messenger stopped working - even after reinstalling the application, battery pulls, reboots, etc. All I get is an error message about Java when I try to start.
After upgrading the software on my BB, the SMS & MMS took all of my messages and put them into one long conversation that I can't delete. All new text messages appear in that conversation, and I can't delete them either. The title of the conversation is the name of sender of the first message, and it names all new messages as that person, even if it isn't them. Also the graphics keep glitching when I scroll through the opened conversation. And sometimes the enter button won't even work to allow me to send sms in reply. I don't text all that often, but my coworkers want to contact me via sms.
