Jan 7, 2010I have a nokia 5530 xpress music mobile - (Christmas present) and was wondering when any new firmware is going to be released; The native browser just closes on its own (sometimes active sometimes inactive) The phone is a little slow loading up and menus (know this may be down to apps etc and memory card) The shortcut icons disappear sometimes from the homescreen (causing a reset to rectify) and when I change them the shortcut on the far right changes itself back to facebook The phone sometimes gets stuck on a white screen at startup which can only be solved by removing the memory card and starting up then reinserting There are a few more minor things but they don't really matter but I have noticed the touchscreen can be quite unresponsive needing quite firm touches or repetitive touches (yes I know some things require double touch) I was also wondering why my phone keeps disconnecting from the wifi source (I have a standard home router) - I know some routes 'refresh' themselves however I don't have problems with my computers or laptops (yes I know its different hardware) Done get me wrong its a good phone, with great features and I am not complaining however I just expected less obvious faults not ones that can cause disruption in normal day-to-day use URL...

Aug 29, 2014Did my software update the other day and apart from noticing the battery tends to run out quicker than previously, I have a new issue.
Put my phone onto charge last night with phone turned off. Don't normally do that but kept getting FB notifications. Turned phone on this morning and noticed several widgets missing from my home screen. There are gaps where widgets were but now they are missing. They are still on the phone as they're visible on the other screen where all my apps are.

Oct 12, 2012According to Nokia's user guide for the C6-01, I should be able to press and hold on the home screen for the Add shortcut option to appear. It doesn't. Instead I am given the option to only add widgets. Can some please tell me how I can add apps to the home screen, or at least transfer them from another screen

Oct 17, 2015Lately I've been noticing that the displayed time on my home screen widget is inaccurate. A simple tap on the widget seems to rectify things but it's weird. I'm using Transparent Weather Clock but I also noticed the same thing using the 3D Flip Clock widget.
Interestingly, my wife is using the Note 2 and she's having the same problem.
As this is happening with multiple widgets on multiple phones I feel safe in assuming that it's not related to the devices themselves or the widgets per se.

Apr 5, 2010I have this inconvenience with my wi-fi on my mobile. I just got it brand new the other day and have been happy with it. But it seems my wi-fi is always connected with my home router, even if i disconnect it, it reconnects a minute later. Great phone, but there's a problem with Nokia Messaging (or Nokia Email, I don't know - see screen below).I've already set it up with her Gmail account, but when she tries to check her emails, instead of this nice screen, it takes shows the phone's Messaging folder, where there's no HTML for emails (and, I think, no push mail support).Besides, both the "Email" and the "Email setup" icons lead to the same place (setting up a new account). In my 5800, it shows the screen above, which has a much better interface.

May 2, 2010I basically turn on my phone and then screen is not touchable anymore and message comes up with ' 2 new messages' and i try to show it but i cant because the touch screen is not working. It just happened randomly and i only got this phone at Christmas. I dont know why it has started doing this and the only app that works is camera and the middle button that looks like a dash at the bottom of the phone with the red and green button thats all that is working. i was trying to see if there is a way i can fix this problem or can i take it back to carphone warehouse and get a new one?

The phone will ring, I'll answer the call and have the conversation, no problem. But when it comes to ending the call, the screen freezes with 'Joe Bloggs Calling' on the screen and I have to turn the phone off to resolve it. (no response from the screen)

Feb 16, 2010has anyone found an effective screen protector for their touchscreen? The original nokia film that came with my 5530 is pretty scratched up and so i decided to buy one off ebay.
Baaaad choice! There is just no way of putting it on the phone without any air bubbles and even then you have to make a custom cut around the sensor, so as not to block it. Even after i managed to do that, there was a small piece of tape sticking to the film, which you're suppose to remove after stickin it to the screen. That tape left such a horrible mark on the film that i just ripped the film out.I was just wondering if anybody bought a cover that works or managed to apply it without the air bubbles? I'm afraid to buy one of those leather casings with a plastic screen as I've read that some users have problems with their sensor because of that.
Nokia :: 5530 / Screen Going Blank During Call
Aug 17, 2010I just bought my Nokia 5530.There are a couple of problems I have been having though- sometimes when I am making a call and want to end it before the person answers, the screen becomes unresponsive. Also sometimes when I am in the middle of the call and want to access the dialler (for typing in an extensions for example), the screen does not automatically come back up from its 'dark mode' and the only way i am able to end the call is turning it off completely.Is there something I should do to prevent this, or is my phone just defective? Help is needed because I think my local warranty is going to be up soon!

As I said I will just be on my phone then the screen will go black with red and black stripes going from one side of the phone to another, it will then turn itself on and off again. Jan 5, 2010Here what I done since the begging of the problem: when I first use, everything was ok (at least to me). One day without remembering to disconnect the device from Windows XP Sp2, I disconnected the USB cable to aswer a call (it was in mass storage mode).
After that don't remember exactly how but a few minutes laters after reboot the n900 some widgets disappeared from desktop. So I added them one more time but they won't come to desktop... I repeated many times the adding and after that the N900 gone crazy. Some applications still works but others didn't show the icon program on the menu, only the name under the icon appear, and when i tried to execute one of them the screen returned to desktop with all the widgets that first didn't show and the device reboot alone.
So I decided to flash and I followed every single step (that I found in a thread wrote by adamf) to flash maemo on N900 and I did it. But when I try to erase mass memory, the dots on the N900 screen stopped move and in the DOS windows there was: "suitable USB device not found, waiting". The N900 seems freezed. After 30 minutes I disconnected the USB cable and turned ON the device and it is OK. Well, all data is still there. Do I need to reset mass memory to erase the programs downloaded from the application catalogues? Flashing maemo doesn't do that?
Tried two times but the same thing happens and I quitted. I started to use the device and it works fine but I can't install some applications that first I had installed, like bounce evolution, APP widget, facebook widget (impossible installing error). But forecast weather and other widgets works... I can't understand why. Tried also other flasher like Global (first I have intalled Middle East) but I have the same error...
Galaxy S5 :: Home Screen Icon Shifts Keeping Home Screen Blank
Feb 28, 2015Just discovered my home screen is blank, so I thought I had accidentally changed/moved it when I turned on "Easy Mode" to check that out. Switched back to "Standard Mode", but found my home screen gone, with a blank page in it's place. I found some directions on how to move pages around, making one a home screen. I selected the page I wanted as home screen and moved it to the page where the white house icon is highlighted. I was done but noticed nothing had changed. Home page still blank, so I did it again. I find that whenever I try creating my home screen page by moving it to the highlighted white house icon, the white house icon shifts to the left, remaining blank.
