Nokia :: X6 / BBC IPlayer Not Working After Upgrade / App Missing In OVI Suite
Jun 20, 2010
When I first got my X6 I was able to play BBC iPlayer. After I upgraded the phone's firmware, I cant play iPlayer programs and can't find the app in OVI suite/ I'm sure it was there before. Any idea where to download it?
I used to be able to listen to Radio1 on my N97 via the iplayer app, however recently when I went to use it it does not work. Have tried it over a couple of days and still faulty. iplayer starts, I select radio, select radio1, select the day and that is were it stops.
My Iplayer has stopped working , it fires up but when I clik to play nothing happens or it pops up a script error.I'm on v4 firmware and had no issues with it until the last week .
I have uninstalled and reinstalled but with no success . I haven't installed any new apps recently .
i got problem with the C1-01 RM607, after updated to V 06.15 via Nokia suite.i am using the english and chinese in SMS message. After the latest update, the chinese characters cannot be read and the Chinese Language in the phone language setting is missing.the message in chinese words can be read in nokia pc suite.i checked the installed application, tpin_en_fr_de_hu , i believe it was language application for English, France, German, Hungary.where is the Chinese language?
I was having some problems with transfering musics to my Nokia n70, so yesterday I updated my version of the nokia pc suite. Last night everything was working fine, however today in the morning I tried to connect my mobile phone to the computer and it's always showing the same error! Here is what I'm using:
- windows xp professional version 2002 - nokia n70 with a usb cable type CA-53 - nokia pc suite 7.1.40.6
The general error that appears is: "USB Device not recognized" In the Nokia Pc Suite-Get Connected appears "There is no available connection type and therefore connection to the phone cannot be established. The wizard will exit."I already tried to uninstall and install again and to install the drivers separately. I had a look at other threads but didn't find anything about this version of the nokia pc suite.
I've just upgraded to Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 via Noka SW Updater and everything looks OK (apart from the always present problems with Assisted GPS Positioning method). But now everytime I connect my phone to the PC with Nokia Suite, I always get the message that there is an application (i.e. Nokia Maps Suite 2.0) available to install. How do I get rid of this annoyance?
I used the Nokia (N95_1) four years ago as a phone, so I cannot remember where I stored the itty bitty Rogers SIM card or if I threw it away. Now I have this problem with the Nokia Suite not upgrading firmware without the sim card.I use nokia now mostly as a GPS and a Wi-fi net browsing device, so I would like to get the new map version since the current one (v3.01 09wk44 b01) keeps crashing when synchronizing favs. I downloaded the .sis file from softpedia (v3.03 10wk11 b04) but get certificate errors when trying to install it. Does anybody know where can I get a signed map, latest version for nokia n95, with a fix for the sync crash? (It does get sync'ed but closes every time)
we have in family 3 phones Nokia E7-00 and now found that we can't update to Belle software, because is possible just through PC. Nokia suite is still not available for Apple users. For luck we are based in Edinburgh where Nokia have Nokia care store - with extremely fast and friendly support, they make the upgrade in few minutes for us free of charge. But the issue is we need to run 20km to the store....would be more easy do it by our self at home - if Nokia is able produce some kind of software make this possible. Im sure they must be many Apple users that use Nokia phones The E7-00 is very great phone with many futures and also durable - work in extremely low temperatures under -20C in Mountains.
Just upgraded my very stable G3 from 4.4.2 to 5.0 this afternoon. Everything seems to work except the BBC iPlayer app which will not live stream anymore (no video or sound but the timebar indicates it is running). Strangely it does does download and then plays. I find it difficult to get out of the app - it takes 3 or 4 taps. The last time it froze the phone and I had to remove the battery, something I have never had to do before. I have done a factory reset - that makes no difference. It's a 32Gb D855 and I'm unlocked on Three.
I got optional update from my N8-00 and I dont know what happened but it seems that it corrupted my phone because it doesn't pass through the loading page luckily I was able to get a fix on that. But the main problem is I've been missing some of Nokia Apps including Maps, Ovi store, quick office and also the pre-downloaded games that came with Symbian belle. I believe those are Need for Speed, Golf and I forgot the other one. How can I have those apps back? I've been doing factory reset every now and then but still programs are missing. And also those missing programs have widgets on my homescreen and an error which is "Error occurred. Widgets removed" will pop up on my screen.
i just upgrade anna to belle... but most of my games apps were lost... is it really lost or just the shortcuts were lost... i tried searching them but still cant find them...
bought nokia e71 and i wanna use pc suite with it , but somehow i cant , neither pc suite on cpu neither phone detetcs each other (though i can use mass storage , com port and web cam when i connect phone to pc via usb cable) but with those features working i dont have choise to use pc suite when i connect phone to pc and as i mentioned neither my pc detects phone.i tried reinstaling suite and everything about nokia from my cpu , tried installing older connectivity drivers for nokia and its still the same i have 3 features working but when it comes to pc suite it blows.
I am unable to connect my E72 in PC suite mode via USB. It was working just fine earlier. The weird thing is that it works fine on Bluetooth. Other modes (Mass Storage) are working fine via USB. So USB port/wire is fine. The only thing that isn't working via USB is the PC Suite mode. I have tried selecting PC Suite mode in Settings> Connectivity> USB and also tried changing the Ask on connection option but it doesn't work. When I plugin my phone via usd, it prompts me to select the mode, if I select PC Suite it doesn't work, If I chose a mode other than PC suite, it works just fine.
I just bought a N97 Mini because of the free navigation. Using the phone for calls works fine, however I cannot connect it to Ovi Suite. Somehow Ovi Suite keeps on trying to contact my phone, which is connected via the USB cable. I've installed and removed Ovi Suite a couple of times, but it still doesn't work. Even synchronisation of contacts doesn't work.
Software version is 11.0.102. (adapted version 11.0.102.c01.01) PC is XP and I've downloaded the latest Ovi Suite.
I have never been able to get Ovi siute to work on my laptop.I'm running Wondows Vista and have tried removing all Nokia programs and drivers and doing a fresh install but I still get the same notice every time I try to open Ovi suite."A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.Windows will close the program and notify youif a solution is available."
i ve restroed my c7 in factory reset option by deleting all data and restore all done well i updated symbian anna 1/2 and 2/2 also service pack and ovi store app ut the ovi store app is no working i ve uninstalled and installed again several times but it doesnt work
I use Ovi Suite, download a map of Beijing documents, Ovi suite shows "preparing to download the map", the pop-up "Ovi Suite 2 Stopped Working". Why is this the case?

I am using PC Suite 7.1.40.6, under Windows XP Pro SP3. I have a 6600 fold phone, with the latest firmware (5.60). I connect via USB cable. PC Suite works perfectly apart for one thing. I cannot get the Sync function to work at all. If I run it, the program starts, and shows the phone as being properly detected and connected. However, if I press the Sync button or the Settings button, absolutely nothing happens! No error messages, just nothing. The only thing I have which I can sync with is Outlook Express, but surely even if I had no compatible programs installed I should still get something when I press the Settings button at least? I've tried repairing/reinstalling PC Suite and no difference. As i said, all other functions work fine.
i am not able to connect my N8 to OVI Suite since I installed the Windows 8 Consumer Preview operating system. My USB port is working fine as I am able to charge and connect in media transfer mode. It just doesn't work when the OVI suite mode is enabled.how I can work around this please. I use OVI suite a lot as I do most of my messaging through the PC. When will Nokia release a new edition of the OVI Suite that will work well with Windows 8. On once occasion, I was able to reinstall OVI suite by right clicking and selecting Windows 7 in compatibility settings and by running the program as administrator. However, even that doesn't seem to be working anymore.
i recently saw an upgrade for asha 200 when i try to up grade it , the suit stops working?Join my movement to bring a change in NOKIA for good by supporting my [URL]
Sync with Outlook calendar/tasks (regardless whether using USB or BT) fails with error code 8004fd22 in Ovi Suite. N900 says nothing.Backups and contacts sync with Ovi Suite works ok.Sync used to work earlier. The only thing I've done is that I've installed the Hildon patch, that fixes the "jumping" phone answer UI (from maemo.org). Should have nothing to do with sync, but who knows.Ovi Suite is of last available version on Win7/32bit and N900 has PR 1.2.
I working with the latest PC Suite 7.1.60.0 ( Windows 7 x64 ) and try to Sync my Lotus Notes Calender nsf database from the Notes Server with the Nokia E52 Cellphone. At the settings I could choose my nsf database an save it. Now I would sync the Notes calender with the PC Suite. Sync is starting and I got the question about the password from the notes nsf and go ahead. Now I got the message, a pop up from PC sync " notes/company/de!!mail/person.nsf, file is missing ". I try it w/wo password access to the notes database. But both not possible.
When I use BBC iplayer the program selected runs ok, but if I try to move it on through the slide bar it moves it on but then displays the slide bar permanently and the rotating circle, which is annoying.
Ever since I upgraded the phone's firmware to the latest (v 20.0.080) the mobile dictionary has a weird glitch. I've attached a picture to show.
If i try to find a word from english to vietnamese, the vietnamese equivalent word will have missing letters. For example: i search "hello" and the vietnamese shows: "xin chao: bi ___ u _ l ___ s ng ___ c nhien" (the underscores "_" are the missing letters.Anyone know how to fix this? I've tried reinstalling the application, and the language pack.
I've tried a english to english search, and words don't show up missing letters. this seems to just happen to vietnamese letters.I do a simple search of a vietnamese to vietnamese. even the results show words with missing letters.
Can anyo0ne explain why the N900 cannot play streaming video like BBC iplayer or TV Catchup. Even you tube videos are blocky and jumpy. I thought one of the great selling features was that it could play flash. The iphone yet again wins in this category - may not be flash but they seem to have a workaround that works unlike the N900 - or am I doing something wrong? Is this another underpowered nokia device? I don't understand when the lesser models like the 5800 and the N97 can do these things - Why do Nokia get is so nearly right but in the end always seem to fail. And please don't tell me the N900 is a "work in progress" there are some things it should be capable of out of the box.
Current Devices:
N900, N97, 5800 & iPhone.
nukea - we will get the perfect device in the end (but not this year!)
I have finally solved the issue of setting you the BBC iplayer so it asks you how you would like to connect when you run the application rather then it always by default connecting to the service provider in my case (orange).
Step 1 - download the newest software update for the N97 you will need software version V 20.0.019 software version date is 13-10-09.
Step 2 - download the latest BBC iplayer version this should be version 2.5.0(141).
Step 3 - from the phone go to menu then go to web once opened go to options then settings once in settings go to general and set access point to ask when needed.
Step 4 - from menu go to Videos & TV go to option in Video and TV then settings and set network connection to ask when needed if its not already set to this.
Step 5 - from menu go to settings then connectivity then destinations then internet and set your required WIFI connection to priority 1.
Step 6 - from menu go to applications then open realplayer then settings then go to streaming settings then network and the access point in use should display your required WIFI connection e.g. mine shows my home network talktalk. If your required network is not displayed then open the access point in use and select the required WIFI connection.
Step 7 - turn your phone off and take out the battery for 2mins then turn your phone back on.
Step 8 - when the phone turns on and the phone displays select connection you should see internet underneath it should be displayed your WIFI connection. Do not select anything. Instead go to options then go to select access point and choose your service provider e.g. orange Internet.
Step 9 - once your phone is set-up and all widgets are set all you have to do to use BBC iplayer is go to options on the home screen select content to offline mode then content to online mode then open the BBC iplayer. The phone will then ask for a connection select your wifi connection and your away.
i hope the above steps help you and work as they worked for me just remember after you do the 8 steps above you only need to repeat step 8 everytime you wish to use BBC iplayer.
