Nokia :: Wifi PEAP - MSCHAPv2 Authentication In Combination With Microsoft NPS
Mar 31, 2010
I'm setting up a wireless network with an authentication backend based upon Microsoft NPS and Microsoft AD:
Nokia E71/E72
Laptops <=> Trapeze AP's <=> Trapeze WSS <=> MS NPS <=> MS AD
HTC S740
The authenticationprotocol we're using is PEAP-MSCHAPv2. In short I can't seem to get it to work on either a Nokia E71 or E72 while it works perfectly on our laptops using either the native Microsoft WZC or Intel PROSet and on a HTC S740. In the NPS event log, the same event occurs 3 times (some information is obfuscated for obvious reasons), the critical part I guess is the last line "An internal error occurred". I can really only guess why there would be an internal error with the Nokia phones and not with any other phones or laptops. The eventlogentry on the Microsoft NPS:...............
So when connecting to my office Wifi, I have to insert proxy server and Port. But it is a restricted internet access. So naturally it must be given username, password. But i can't seem to find the place where to put it. In the wifi setting I can only put proxy server and port number but no Username and password.
My phone is E71 and I can't connect my university network Is there anyone who know how I can overcome this problem... 802.1x (PEAP) over WEP. you can see settings for XP by this site settings for xp
I just updated my Nokia E6 to Symbian Belle. When I try to edit the EAP-PEAP settings for my corporate WPA2 secured network, the settings simply crashes and returns to the home screen.
My wifi stays constantly connected after the microsoft apps update. Running latest belle on n8. Powersave mode is active, and no apps are running. I have rebooted several times, and upon reboot the wifi connects and never disconnects. I have removed any widgets that access data and the problem remains, however those widgets were there prior to the update and wifi worked normally.
I have samsung s5 for 7months from tmobile is up to date and last night it was working fine until this afternoon it wont let me connect my wifi and i haven't change my wifi pw not even once its still the same as before. i tried disconnecting my modem for 1min then it still giving me problems i restarted my cell, factory reset it and its still saying authentication errors
I want to configure a blackberry bold 9900 with v7 pack 2290 to access a wifi network with radius server authentification. But when i looking into the security type parameters, i 've not the PEAP option.
WiFi was working fine until 10am this morning, since then i have been unable to connect, when i enter the password to connect, it shows as saved, then shows as 'connecting, followed by 'Authentication problem', there is nothing wrong with the router etc. as work colleagues are using the same WiFi and it's fine for them, i have tried using the Sony PC Companion, it said my phone is up to date, so i done a repair/restore, i am still receiving the message "Authentication problem" when trying to connect to the WiFi.
I want to know if this is a problem with my phone or if it is the router.
The problem is that whenever I try to connect to a router, I get a message that my phone cant authenticate with it. I am sure the password is typed in correctly and I have tried to restart the router and do a factory reset on my phone. The only way to connect to some routers is to push the wps-button. This is very annoying. When at work, I can connect fine to one of the routers there, but not the others. I cant connect to the router in my home without pressing the wps-button (once that is done, it connects automatically)
Is this a known issue with the xperia phones? And is this a problem that is caused by the phones or is it that the routers may be a little old? I also want to add that my other devices has connected to these networks just fine.
I just bought a Nexus 6 phone recently. I tried connecting to the Wi-Fi where I work but it keeps saying Authentication Problem beside the WiFi name and will not connect. I just updated to Lollipop 5.1.1 thinking this would work but I am still having this issue. I don't want to have to use my data whilst at work all the time!
So I have never had problems with my wifi, until yesterday. I realized the wifi was not on when I got a "Data usage warning" from my phone provider.
I looked at the wifi and it was not connected. When I try and connect to my home network (which my husbands phone, my ps3 and my pc are all connected to without issue) it gives me an "authentication error".
I would assume that would be the password or something, but the password is fine.
I have: - tried turning to airplane mode and back - tried changing it from "auto" to 2.4mghz only as in the troubleshooting guide - tried turning off always scanning - tried restarting the router and modem.
Basically I was streaming a video on you tube the other night, until my Nexus 5 froze up. My phone was taking way too long to respond, so I decided to hold the power button until the device shut off, and I held the power button again to turn it back on. (duh) As soon as it turned back on, I was no longer able to connect to my home WIFI. So now whenever I try to connect to our home WiFi, I get an "authentication error" and the WiFi network status just comes up as 'saved" instead of "connected". My mobile Data works fine, it's just my WiFi that isn't working anymore. Did I accidentally fry a component within my Device that allowed me to connect to a WiFi network?
Have you used the following key combination in N900? If the number begins with * and ends with #, its NOT recognized as a valid number. Instead I receive a message "Incorrect Number".The problem is this. My mobile service provider has given me a number to check my balance and last 3 call charges by dialing the following numbers:
*142#
*143#
But the above numbers are identified to be invalid in Nokia N900.
I've had an E72 for a week now, and must say that I find the keypad unlock combination of top-left followed by top-right combination most annoying! the phone continuously unlocks itself while in my pocket, and then starts calling, taking pictures, etc.. Using the (very tight) cover does not make any difference. Is there a way to change this into any other combination? (like power button first, then top left or right? or use the center button which is well protected?)
I want to use an SMTP server which is not provided by the operator (network or broadband). The only form of authentication catered for seems to be "POP before SMTP" where you have to authorise sending using the same login as you first receive with.
Settings I see are:
Incoming : there is no field for remote mailbox address - weird? Outgoing: there IS a field for remote mailbox address - why? The username and password fields provided seem to relate to this remote mailbox address, not to the SMTP server. (Anyway, they already exist in incoming settings) E.g. I can receive from my remote mailbox fine. That's "me@tiscali.co.uk" I can't authenticate using the "smtp.o2.co.uk" server to send using my address of "me@tiscali.co.uk" as there is nowhere to enter my o2 authentication details. (I can send unauthorised to o2 addresses)
The above example works fine in Profimail email client and with Profimail I can send emails carrying the "me@tiscali.co.uk" address with o2 authentication via the o2 SMTP server by either t-mobile network or by tiscali broadband WLAN to any of various test addresses.
I know, but since I'm doing the rooting stuff, I need to turn off the device but since the screen is all black I can't press the "turn off device" in the screen
I have a Morotola Razr2 V8 for a year or two... but recently I drop it and broke, the phone still works, but the screen doesn't. (I later saw that the cable that feed the screen it was completly torn)
I still have some contacts in this phone that I need to recover. I try to use a Motorola Rockr that use the same OS so I can see what I am going, but it seems that the menu are slightly different.
Just got my N900, which is awesome by the way...Just a couple of issues.
1) I am unable to work out how to bluetooth mp3 files to another mobile. Ok with videos and pictures as option is there but nothing for mp3's.
2) Can't pair the phone with car kit. I have the password which is the same as previous one but when pairing n900 I get an error message saying 'authentication failed'.
After I bought my phone I made a blackberry email account (xxxxxx@sprint.blackberry.net) and it was working just fine. I was able to log app world and download things etc. But today I downloaded an update from app world and now it wont let me log in at all. Says email and password combinations are wrong or email doesn't exist.
When I do software update on my Nokia E72, I get this optional download item Microsoft office Communicator(1.0) for download . Can someone please tell what is this application about and how is this different from Nokia Messaging?
I updated my phone 2 weeks ago to get Microsoft Apps 2.01 through Nokia Suite. Today I did a factory reset using *#7370# for some reasons and updated my N8-00 to latest Nokia Belle Refresh. But Microsoft Apps 2.01 is not installed and I am unable to install it again through Nokia Suite!
I was sent a new Blackberry curve 8520 as my old one broke, and am trying to set up my email accounts again. First, I couldn't remember my username/password combination for BIS. I rang my service provider several times and was told that it was nothing to do with them and that only Blackberry could sort out the situation. Well eventually I managed to get in to my email settings and set up two email accounts, however there was still one more I wanted to set up, but when I tried to log in again it wouldn't work! Even though I used the same combination as before. Using my username, I requested my password to be sent to me and it said it was sending but I still haven't gotten anything.
I understand from the User Guide that Microsoft Office Mobile should give access to Word, Excel etc. However when I try to sign in it does not accept my email address/password combination. When I obtained my first 1026, in Jan 2014 I have a recollection that access was readily available but have not used it.
I successfully set up the Exchange client on my E72 and can receive and send mail but I cannot find my contacts that are on our server at work via Microsoft Outlook. Phone support at Nokia was not helpful - very frustrating. My personal contacts synch with the E72 fine from my Mac using Apple Address Book and Sync. Am I correct in thinking that I can maintain both my Microsoft Outlook work contacts and Apple Address Book contacts at the same time? I thought the E72 was capable of this.
My computer successfully syncs with my N900, but I cannot see the notes anywhere. Is there something I am doing wrong or is there a bug in the system. The calendar and contacts work perfectly.
