Nokia :: OVI Sign In Or Sign Up Error Message
Feb 19, 2010My wife accidently going through her contacts went to the very top where there's a drop down menu for Phone or Contacts. It went to Contacts. Now whenever she goes to her contacts a message pops up saying Sign In or Sign Up to OVI. She's been on the phone now with Nokia for 2 hours trying to resolve.Anyone out there have any ideas?
And by the way, are other brands of phones this bad, what with setting up loops like this can't be broken. Or, like what I've read here and elsewhere, all the problems with the Lock Code? I mean, it seems Nokia needs to go back to the drawing board and work on their user interface.

Our phones has the Torch in the Quick Toggles, but you need to turn it on, unlock and then go to to the QuickToggle to turn it on and off, with this is as simply as press and Hold the Volume Up, once you finish press the Volume down once. Best of all, no root required.

It isn't a call or message, and leaves no clue as to why it ran.At night I have to set it to SILENT profile, so it won't wake me up through out the night. May 30, 2010After having updated my N900 to PR1.2, I now find that when I reply to, or create a new message in the standard e-mail client , my automatic signature is inserted in grey instead of black, and all linefeeds are left out so the whole thing appears in one line instead of four which is how I have it.Sure, I can edit it and re-insert the linefeeds and make it all black, but this is clearly not the point. It worked fine prior to 1.2 and should continue to work fine after the upgrade.
One quirk of this 'bug' is that, once I've opened a new message (with the incorrect signature), if I change the originating e-mail address (I have more than one e-mail account) by tapping on my e-mail address at the top and selecing a different one, the signature 'repairs' itself and the linefeeds re-appear so the signature then looks fine except that it's still in grey.

Sep 9, 2011Since my N8-00 has been upgraded to Symbian Anna, a single SMS message is billed multiple times.Now and then a simple SMS (within the constraints of a single SMS, without any special letters) shows up on my bill as if it was send 2 (sometimes even 3) times. Each time there is a delay of exactly 3 seconds between them.It seems as if the communication between the phone and the SIM card or the cell tower causes the phone to attempt sending the SMS multiple times, while actually each time it tries, the attempt is marked as sent and consecutively shows up on the bill.Because this problem has only been occuring since the upgrade to Symbian Anna, I suspect a software bug to be the problem.The receiver phone gets only 1 SMS as he/she is supposed to.

Feb 9, 2010While I have the WiFi (or should it be WLAN?) Icon, there is no sign of anything in Applications. If I click the Icon I get my TalkTalk network described as "known" rather than "Connected". In Connectivity the network is described as "available". In Connectivity Manager there is "no active connection." Am I flapping over nothing or is my battery being eaten up? Oh yes, there is no padlock to the icon when in this condition unlike when connected. Cheers Tim
