my iPhone 4 has took its toll and finally turned off and will not turn back on. It completely died. So verizon only allowed me to upgrade to the droid razr M. How do I stop iMessage so I will receive texts to my new phone since I can't receive iMessage???

I can't sign in to iMessage on my phone. It says "please check network connection" however i can sign into iCloud on my phone & can sign into iMessages from my mac. Obvvioulsy I've tried a hard reset & I restored my phone to stock yesterday.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI cant find an iMessage or even just plain old iOS help section. Here's the thing. I have an iPhone 4 (16GB) and an iPad 2 (WiFi only 16GB) both running iOS 5.1 Until last week all was fantastic, then I noticed that during an app purchase via App Store, Apple asked me for extra "security data" and the app purchase went fine. Since then however, my iMessages have not been received by ANY of my recipients. A couple of other iMessage users found they couldn't reach me by iMessage either.
I went into settings - messages - and found my iMessage was logged out. I re-enabled it and got a message that "my Apple ID had changed" and I was logged out again! I have checked and triple checked my Apple ID, have even reset it and checked the new one too.
I can make app purchases from the App Store, and can use home sharing for my music and videos so I KNOW my Apple ID is right. But for some reason every time I try to turn on iMessage it refuses my Apple ID and Password. My iPad2 is doing exactly the same and tells me to check my email as they've sent me a "verification link" but it never comes through. I have checked the email address and it's fine. All of my own emails come straight through. In fact I've just joined in here and the welcome email just came through on the same email account

For months now, I haven't been able to use iMessage. I go to the Messages page on Settings and it says that iMessage is turned on but that it is "Waiting for activation...". When I click "Use your Apple ID for iMessage" and put in my information (which I know is correct because it works for iTunes and the App Store) it takes about 3 minutes then comes up with a message saying "Could not sign in. Pleace check your network connection and try again." This doesn't make any sense because I am definitely connected to the network- I have plenty of service, 3G, etc. I am also pretty sure that this is connected to why nothing has been sent to my iCloud either...

Obviously my friends have checked that their phones won't send normal SMS when I'm not available on iMessage, so I end up receiving nothing until they manually say "Send via SMS".
For I won't have an iPhone within the next months I want iMessage to be turned off, so I will get normal SMS from my lucky iPhone friends.
Is it possible to "unlink" iMessage from my phonenumber / mailadress?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded my iphone 4 for an iphone 6 and we decide to let my niece have the old iphone 4 with our account set up so that she can have the apps that we have as well. Now, I am able to deactivate iMessage but I don't want her to "accidentally" turn it on and I noticed that if she were to do it she could select my phone number and start receiving iMessages addressed to my phone number. Is there a way to completely delete/remove my phone number only from that iphone?

When I write an iMessage to someone from my iPhone it shows up as not delivered after a few seconds, but the message does arrive at the recipient. If I look on my iPad the same message looks ok, it shows the delivered/read status perfectly normal. When I switch devices, the problem exists the other way around. I get the not delivered status on my iPad but the same message shows up OK on my iPhone. The problem exists on different WiFis and on the 3G network.I already tried to "reactive" the iMessage service on my iPhone but to no avail.

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1 when it was released. My friend updated his iPhone 4S delayed, yesterday. Before yesterday iMessage worked well between our iPhones.But since my friend updated to iOS 5.1 as well, iMessage does not work anymore between our two iPhones.iMessage works well with all other adresses we both use as well. My wife accidently going through her contacts went to the very top where there's a drop down menu for Phone or Contacts. It went to Contacts. Now whenever she goes to her contacts a message pops up saying Sign In or Sign Up to OVI. She's been on the phone now with Nokia for 2 hours trying to resolve.Anyone out there have any ideas?
And by the way, are other brands of phones this bad, what with setting up loops like this can't be broken. Or, like what I've read here and elsewhere, all the problems with the Lock Code? I mean, it seems Nokia needs to go back to the drawing board and work on their user interface.

i have noticed that after switching to ios 5.1 my phone has been acting funny. for example: when i am messaging other iphone users with iMessage, it keeps switching from iMessage to regular text every 2 or 3 messages. at first i thought it was the other person since i am normally within my works wifi network and at my home wifi network, but it seems that this problem only occurs to other people when imessaging with me and not with anyone else. and this problem occurs to me while imessaging everyone, so i have come to the conclusion that the problem must be my phone. i have noticed this problem to occur since updating to ios 5.1. has anyone else experienced this problem? what can i do? i am 2 steps shy of reinstalling my phone.

I bought an iPhone 4G in Hong Kong official Apple store, and now using it in Russia. They said it is oficially unlocked. I never did jail or anything inappropriate within the user licence. Recently I upgraded the device to iOS 5, then to 5.0.1 and 5.1, but the problem still remains. Unfortunately, the Apple guarantie is availiable only at the local place in Hong Kong. The problem is there is no network (EDGE, GPRS, 3G) in the iPhone, it means there is NO sign and NO symbol of network (small circle/E/3G) next after the network name. Of course, none of internet service is availiable. Nothing changes when I'm playing with switching the network switches (in Network menu). I contacted my local network company and they said that none of GPRS services are missing in my account, the GPRS support is on, so they don't know why the network is absent. There is no doubt about network parameters - my son has iPhone 3Gs with the same operator, and parameters he has action pretty well. Do you have any ideas? Is it the problem of Hong Kong->Russia transfer? Maybe this device isn't compatible?

I had to restore my iphone so when I did it the phone remembered my old Apple ID. So I created an updated one etc and now it says under settings that the new one is in effect but when I go to the app store it has the old one. I have logged out etc but the old one keeps popping up when I try to update or download an app.
